30. Encounter Without Recognition

After the battle started, both sides just killed and killed, no sanity nor sense would be seen.

Du Chuxuan stood next to Yuxing Tianrui, coldly viewing what was happening. He wasn’t cold-blooded but knew well that sacrifices were inevitable.

The fight for power cost mostly sacrifices of lives.

“This time the Turks are obviously well prepared.” Yuxing Tianrui commented indifferently while watching the battle.

Du Chuxuan didn’t know much about these things but found familiar the Turks’ ever-changing formations. He felt he had seen it somewhere. He rubbed his aching head. When he learned things at his shifu’s place, he had been too lazy to use his brain when learning things such as strategies and tactics. Now he regretted it.

Yuxing Tianrui didn’t count on Du Chuxuan either. He himself also knew only roughly about Eight-Gua (an ancient Chinese divination) Formation and the complicated evolution among different guas, not to mention the lost exquisite drawings about these made by ancients.

At this rate, if they continued to fight against the Turks, not only more soldiers would be lost, the morale would also be harmed. Now, what he needed to to was to stop loss immediately.

Thinking it through, Yuxing Tianrui reached out to Ada, who knew his prince well and instantly put Yuxing Tianrui’s weapon in his hand. Then, he stood firmly behind him in a protecting posture.

“Follow me closely!” Yuxing Tianrui said to Du Chuxuan, pressing his legs against the horse that then smartly dashed out.

When Du Chuxuan realized it, Yuxing Tianrui, in red, had already darted into the chaos. Hurriedly, he also spurred the horse to follow up and couldn’t help inwardly cursing Yuxing Tianrui for being so rash.

Even though Du Chuxuan didn’t know what the Formation was, he remembered shifu once said that in order to break a formation, one must figure out the formation eye first. But now, he had little time to think and could only speed up to catch up with Du Chuxuan.

The touch of red seemed to melt into the ocean and surrounded by dense rapid clanking produced by the collision of weapons. Du Chuxuan swung his arm to knock down a short sword coming at him and lowered down to rush faster towards Yuxing Tianrui.

“My guess is right. Their Second Prince is really here.” Yuxing Tianrui, escorted by Ada, had long dashed into the middle of the Turks’ formation.

As he came in, the formation suddenly changed, the back end shrinking, obviously in order to prevent others from getting in and taking Yuxing Tianrui out.

Du Chuxuan managed to get into the encirclement on the last second, his back hitting against the shield of a soldier. At once, it hurt so badly as if his inner organs were out of place.

Yuxing Tianrui hadn’t expected Du Chuxuan could make it inside the siege, slightly shocked, and then focused on fighting against Ashina Yi who was right in front of him.

Ashina Yi was in dull red. Different from Yuxing Tianrui’s red armor, what he wore were casual clothes with a crystal jade hanging on his waist.

This was way too flamboyant even for a young lord hanging out in downtown capital, let alone the mask that covered half of his face, which made him look—wickedly charming.

Ashine Yi arched his lips, “It doesn’t matter where I am, because I know you’ll come to me obediently anyway.” He folded the red fan in his hand and briefly pointed at the most clamoring part outside the siege, “I’m afraid those guys have no idea that you’re here alone.”

“As the old saying goes, to kill the enemy, kill the leader first. Do you think they will directly drop weapons and surrender if they know you’re here? I heard that they are very loyal to you.”

His remarks finished quickly, giving others no chance to interrupt him. Certainly, he hadn’t noticed Du Chuxuan’s distorted expression on the moment he started to talk.

Yuxing Tianrui sneered and got down from the horse. He stood face-to-face with Ashina Yi, for a time creating a sense of mutual admiration between them.

Du Chuxuan only found the world unbelievable. What was going on? His younger sect-brother under the same shifu with whom he had bought roast chicken together turned out to be the Second Prince of the Turks? Could it be more unreal? Instantly, Du Chuxuan also got off the horse. He had captured the red bloody color on Ada’s back just now.

Obviously, Ada was wounded on his way escorting Yuxing Tianrui into the formation. Now there were only the three of them in here. Yuxing Tianrui didn’t really know martial arts. Ada couldn’t help much. Undoubtedly, it suddenly became much harder to get out of here.

“Tut-tut. Your two guards are really loyal.” Ashina Yi’s eyes were brought to shift onto Du Chuxuan and Ada. As a martial cultivator, Ashina Yi could easily sense the chaotic inner breath of Ada. As for the other guard, according to reliable news, she was the Crown Princess of Shenglan.

It seemed that Yuxing Tianrui was really not a man who cherished beautiful women. Supposedly, Ashina Yi should call her sister, but he didn’t plan to droop down of his own accord.

“Do you think I dare to come here like this without any preparation?” Ignoring Ashina Yi’s words, Yuxing Tianrui smoothened his clothes, as if he was invited here only to have tea.

The words made Ashina Yi’s expression slightly twisted. He had wrestled against Yuxing Tianrui and his own brother equally long. He knew that Yuxing Tianrui was a man too proud to lie. Therefore, his words made Ashina Yi more restless.

Considering carefully for a while, he finally decided to ignore his vigilance, “Why should I worry? No matter what your tricks are, there are so many people around will easily turn you into a dead hive.”

Yuxing Tianrui didn’t care what Ashina Yi said, nonchalantly glancing over. He knew better how ingenious this formation was once he entered.

He bet to say that there wasn’t a single man across the whole Shenglan that was able to break this formation. If this battle was lost, Ashina Yi would be able to march all the way onto the capital city merely with this formation.

With the cooked duck already at his mouth, Ashina Yi didn’t want to see his effort turning into a bubble again, so he instantly motioned to have Yuxing Tianrui captured, but the next second, Ashina Yi stood frozen at where he was.

He hummed with a sneer, “What a good scheme of you!”
