81. Poisoned

Yuxing Tianrui didn’t speak until he saw Luo Qing wearing leather gloves carefully taking off Du Chuxuan’s clothes, “Whatever method you use, make sure there is no danger.” There was an upcoming storm in Yuxing Tianrui’s eyes, so deep as if to suck people in. Yet, Luo Qing wasn’t scared at all.

“Please rest assured, Your Highness. If I can’t save Her Highness, the mediocre doctors can’t do anything either.” His words sounded arrogant, but both Yuxing Tianrui and Luo San knew that he wasn’t lying. Luo Qing, highly praised as the Saint Doctor by Shenglan people, never had a predictable schedule, elusive all year around. Surprisingly, he actually belonged to Sect Luo.

He cut off the extra cloth with scissors to reveal the wound, the edge of which turned outward in quite a disgusting way. However, Yuxing Tianrui seemed to force himself to watch it. Hadn’t been him, Du Chuxuan wouldn’t have had to suffer this, so now Yuxing Tianrui was trying to stamp a stronger memory of this incident on his mind.

It was absurd that not long ago he had also been in such a situation, watching his wound and swearing that he would treat him nice forever and never let him get hurt ever again. Yuxing Tianrui was mad at himself for breaking his words. He gently pinched Du Chuxuan’s fingers and found the man such a beloved child who never did housework that his hands were so cutely soft.

After a long while, Luo Qing breathed a brief sigh of relief, “Those people are really of malicious intention, but there is a way to cure the poison.” Hearing that, Yuxing Tianrui on a sudden looked at him. From passing out till now, Yuxing Tianrui could feel that Du Chuxuan was getting weaker and weaker, and the deeper purple color of his lips was the best proof.

Nevertheless, now that Luo Qing said he could cure it, there must be a way, “Just tell me what you need. If we don’t have now, I’ll let Luo Yi help.” Yuxing Tianrui said quickly but didn’t notice the touch of slyness crossing Luo Qing’s eyes, “It won’t be that troublesome to cure the poison.”

Yuxing Tianrui was stilled in confusion and frowned at Luo Qing, not understanding what he meant. Luo Qing just flapped open his folded fan and smiled, “The intention of the hitmen isn’t hard to guess. I believe they intended to use on Your Highness, aiming that even if they couldn’t kill you, they would give you a stab.”

“However, they daren’t to apply really poison onto the saber, probably due to some reason. The poison is more of a curse than a poison.” He flushed a little, seeing Yuxing Tianrui grow impatient.

“As long as Your Highness and Her Highness don’t do that, Her Highness will be fine.” He rumbled, because he didn’t very much want to say it, but at the sight of Yuxing Tianrui’s confused expression, he knew he didn’t get him, “Her Highness is poisoned, so it’d be better that you don’t have sex in these days.”

He, as a doctor, certainly knew that Du Chuxuan was a man. It was also on this account that after Du Chuxuan was stabbed, the imperial doctors, who had just arrived, were driven away. Yuxing Tianrui didn’t want this to be disclosed to others. However, for Luo Qing, a member of Sect Luo as well as a doctor, it would be different not to know the fact.

Hearing his instruction, Yuxing Tianrui had a slightly stiffened face, “Don’t tell others about this.” It was obvious what he was referring to, and the people present weren’t fools. A male Crown Princess meant that the imperial family would have no rightful heirs. The news would surely make the imperial clan pissed off.

Luo Qing understood this and immediately got on one knee, “Her Highness is my master now, and I will never let Your Highness down.” Sect Luo was built personally by Yuxing Tianrui, and the followers had been back then merely orphans. Without Yuxing Tianrui, Luo Qing wouldn’t have become what he was now.

Yuxing Tianrui knew their loyalty and didn’t say much. He pondered for a while, gently put Du Chuxuan down on the bed, and said slowly only after medicine was applied, “Tomorrow, you figure a way to enter the palace and work at the imperial hospital, so that you can better take care of him.”

It was easy to explain when such a thing happened once, but if it happened repeatedly, he was afraid father and mother would suspect, so Yuxing Tianrui needed a once-and-for-all solution

Luo Qing nodded, to show that the task feasible. He turned to write a prescription and handed to Ada. Then, he walked to Du Chuxuan and Yuxing Tianrui, bowed and left the room with Luo San.

Yuxing Tianrui turned to take a glance at Du Chuxuan who was in sound sleep and lowered his voice, “This one-stone-two-birds trick is used very well.”

When he said it, the shadow of a storm in his eyes frightened Ada. Having followed Yuxing Tianrui for so long, he had never seen Yuxing Tianrui in such wrath. Those people had really touched his bottom line.

“Who do you think they are?” Yuxing Tianrui took a deep breath and didn’t ask until he carefully read the prescription and remembered every detail.

Ada thought for a while, “On the surface, the clothes they wore suggested Wulin people. I don’t suspect their identity.” Ada was in charge of hidden guards and in direct contact with Luo Yi to deal with the Sect affairs, so he had an all-round understanding of things, “Obviously they are all Wulin people, but their martial cultivations belong to different schools.”

Yuxing Tianrui’s eyes gleamed. He really hadn’t noticed this. His thought was focused on the poison which aimed to prevent him from having sex, which would obviously benefit Zhao Zheng most. In addiction to the Zhao family’s recent actions, he suspected the Zhao family, but he hesitated if those people were related to Wulin.

The case of Shan Zhongli hadn’t drawn a conclusion yet, and seeing the Mansion of Duke Ningyuan became useless, the Zhao family didn’t plan to help it out at all. Moreover, Old Master Zhao also had a strong objection against Wulin and he knew well what had ever happened years ago. For a time, Yuxing Tianrui couldn’t sort things out.

On the next day, during the morning session, the civil and military officials were surprised not to see His Highness, because he was always puncture all year round. Even when he wasn’t well, he had never delayed to attend the court, another reason why he had so many supporters.

The Emperor looked sullen about it and was about to ask his servant when an eunuch ran up and whispered something to Xu Desheng, a close servant of the Emperor, before leaving in a hurry.
