Mastering Lightning from Hogwarts
#11 - Hagrid
Anduin had performed similar spellcasting exercises nearly a thousand times.
In terms of defense, Anduin could now accurately position solidified invisible walls at any precise location. He was also skilled at casting low-density, deceleration-type obstacle curses. He had even developed a move called 'Obstacle Heavy Shield,' which involved creating a transparent shield about a meter in diameter centered around his wand. This allowed him to maintain a certain level of defense even while moving, and he could control its activation and deactivation freely, without having to wait for the spell's duration to expire.
"Phew, that's enough for today. I might be able to master the Obstacle Curse completely after practicing for a while longer. I have a feeling it won't be long before I can cast it wandlessly," Anduin said, wiping sweat from his forehead, quite satisfied with his progress.
After making up his mind, Anduin began to clean up the area. While he was halfway through, the wall in the courtyard suddenly cracked open. It turned out someone had opened the door to the Leaky Cauldron from Diagon Alley. A burly man, over three meters tall with a large beard, emerged from it, wearing a drab fur coat and with shoulder-length dark hair. As he stepped out, he resembled a giant, exuding immense pressure.

"Mr. Hagrid, long time no see. What are you doing coming out of Diagon Alley like that?"
Although the Leaky Cauldron wasn't doing great business, there were still some customers every day. Some Aurors on patrol, after finishing their shifts, would also choose to have a drink in the bar. Anduin had been practicing magic in the courtyard frequently recently, so he had met some of them.
Hagrid was one of them. Tom had introduced Hagrid as the Keeper of Keys and Grounds at Hogwarts and the Keeper of the Forbidden Forest. He would occasionally come to the bar for a drink or go to Diagon Alley to buy supplies for Hogwarts, or so Hagrid said.
"Ah, Mr. Wilson, what are you always doing in the courtyard? I was going to bring a Muggle-born wizard who hadn't started school yet to buy school supplies, but then I found out their family isn't entirely Muggle. The little wizard's father is actually a Squib. He's quite familiar with the wizarding world and has been to Diagon Alley before, so he didn't need me."
Anduin looked at Hagrid speechlessly. He had asked why he was coming out from there, not what he was doing. Anduin had been practicing in the courtyard for an entire afternoon and hadn't seen a single person, and how could he stay inside for so long if he wasn't needed?
Anduin didn't pry and continued, "Is that so? Are you heading back to Hogwarts then?"
"Haha, I came to Diagon Alley with the student's parents early this morning. I realized they didn't need my help, so I took a stroll through Knockturn Alley. Who knew I'd be wandering around until evening? I haven't even had lunch yet. I thought I'd have a meal and a drink here."
In Anduin's opinion, this Hagrid was a little too simple and honest. He had only chatted with him for a few sentences, and Hagrid had almost told him everything he had eaten for breakfast in the past few days. →
Anduin had also finished his day's practice. He chatted with Hagrid casually and entered the Leaky Cauldron through the back door together. "Hagrid, what good stuff did you buy after wandering around all day? That's a big package."
Anduin noticed that Hagrid was also carrying a large package and asked curiously.
"This is dragon liver I bought. I got a great deal today. Guess how much this whole pound of dragon liver cost? You'll never guess. You can't find anything this cheap anywhere else, haha!"
Hagrid happily showed off the great bargain he had found today, and Anduin became even more curious when he heard it was dragon liver.
"Dragon liver, is that the liver of a dragon? I've never seen it before. Can I take a look?"
"Of course, my friend, no problem at all," Hagrid generously agreed to Anduin's request and opened the package to show him.
"Goodness, it looks as fresh as can be. What are you going to use it for? Are you going to make a potion?" Anduin looked at the opened package. This was only a part of the whole dragon liver, but the color of the cut dragon liver was still very vibrant.
"Haha, I'm going to go back and make it into pâté to try," Hagrid said with a smile.
"This stuff is edible?" Anduin looked at the dragon liver, poked it with his finger, and found that it was as fresh as if it had just been taken from an animal.
Hagrid smiled, "Of course, I've eaten dragon meat before. But things are a bit chaotic now, and there aren't many people selling these things anymore, and even if they do, not everyone will buy them."
Anduin thought about it for a moment and felt that this stuff probably wasn't much different from lamb liver or pork liver.
"It's a waste to make it into pâté. Do you want to try other flavors? I'll show you my skills and stir-fry some dragon liver with scallions for you to try." Anduin thought that if he followed the recipe for stir-fried pork liver with scallions, the taste should be similar. He also wanted to taste what dragon liver was like.
"You're only 11 years old, right? Can you even cook?"
"Anduin's cooking is indeed good," Tom, the owner of the Leaky Cauldron, chimed in. "I've been eating his cooking every day for the past half month. I even want to learn a few tricks from him. If he ever writes a magical cookbook, it will definitely be a bestseller."
Since Anduin had moved in, he hadn't charged him for meals, but the prerequisite was that he cooked for Tom.
Speaking of magical cookbooks, Anduin had also learned about them from Tom. In his opinion, it was actually similar to programming with spells. Then the reader could cast each spell according to the recipe to make dishes that were basically the same as those in the cookbook, which was very convenient.
Tom had a few cookbooks, and Anduin had read them. They were quite useful, but first, you had to learn many household spells, such as 'Stirring Charm,' 'Culinary Cutting Charm,' 'Timing Charm,' and so on. However, in the recipes Anduin had read, the taste of many finished products was hard to describe.
"Is that so? Then give it a try, Anduin," Hagrid seemed very indifferent. To him, it was just something he bought at a low price anyway.
Anduin took the dragon liver into the kitchen. Holding it in his hand, he realized its uniqueness. According to Hagrid, it was leftover from merchants in Knockturn Alley, and it had been piling up for a long time, so it was sold at a low price. But it still had residual warmth in his hand, and it had a unique fishy smell.
Anduin went back to his room and chopped a lot of the scallions he had grown, along with onions, ginger, soy sauce, and cooking wine, and marinated them with the sliced dragon liver. Then he stir-fried them. Considering Hagrid's physique, he also made a few other side dishes and arranged them nicely on the table.
Hagrid and Tom, who had been smelling the aroma all along, stared straight at the dishes in Anduin's hands, as if they were treasures.
After starting to eat, Hagrid's eyes lit up after just one bite, and he exclaimed how delicious it was. Anduin also tasted it. The taste was not quite the same as pork liver or lamb liver. It was dense and chewy, and it even had a crispy texture.
Hagrid, Tom, and Anduin quickly devoured the entire table of dishes.
