Mastering Lightning from Hogwarts
#121 - conflict
“In the future, Slytherin will conduct regular inspections of the dormitories. No student from any house may privately keep Muggle items. Any found will be confiscated, and resistance will be punished. Furthermore, we will be identifying the blood status of students in our house. Pure-blood students will enjoy certain privileges, while the remaining half-blood students will be differentiated based on their degree of mixed heritage. Those with a low degree of mixed blood will have a status similar to pure-blood students, while those with a high degree, or outright Muggle-born students…”
Wilkes glanced at Anduin and Vivian before continuing. →ReadМ
“They must obey all orders from the noble pure-blood students and be responsible for all cleaning duties in the house. Anyone who disobeys will be considered to have shown contempt for Slytherin and will be severely punished.”
Finishing his piece, Wilkes looked around again and shouted.
“Pure-bloods supreme!”
“Pure-bloods supreme! Pure-bloods supreme! Pure-bloods supreme!” The pure-blood Slytherin students below the platform excitedly raised their right hands and cheered.
The new students, the other pure-blood students, and those with only a slight amount of mixed blood were also swept up in the atmosphere, raising their right hands and shouting quietly.
The remaining small group of half-blood wizards, upon hearing Wilkes' declaration, turned pale and looked at each other, but they were too weak to resist and could only endure the surrounding cheers.
After listening to their words, Anduin looked at Yaxley and the others with great surprise. Were they planning to implement a caste system in Slytherin? How crazy did you have to be to come up with such an idea?
Vivian, who was next to him, turned red with anger. As a Squib and Muggle half-blood, she had instantly become an inferior person. Moreover, all Muggle items were forbidden. The mahjong tiles in her mahjong club were Muggle items! She had even specially purchased several more sets of mahjong this year to expand the club, and now they were all gone.
“You can't do this! This is simply a crime! I'm going to report to Headmaster Snape! I'm going to protest!” As everyone was cheering, a figure jumped onto the platform and rebuked.
Seeing someone object, Wilkes narrowed his eyes at the person and sneered, “Who do we have here? Velen Higgs. As a member of the pure-bloods, you always side with those filthy Muggles. You want to report? Let me tell you, my prefect status was approved by Professor Snape himself. Betraying us is betraying Slytherin and will be despised by the entire house!”
“Enough! You don't have the right to represent Slytherin. You are simply remnants of the Dark Lord, ah…”
Before Higgs could finish speaking, Yaxley stepped forward and kicked him off the platform. The pure-blood students in the front row added insult to injury by kicking him a few times, causing Higgs to scream in pain.→
After kicking Higgs off the platform, Yaxley looked down at him mockingly. “Hmph, don't question us so easily. You don't have the right to yell at us. I warn you, Slytherin's affairs can only be resolved within Slytherin. Dare to betray us, and you'll suffer.”
Seeing this, Vivian became enraged and, together with Anduin, rushed forward to push away the crowd and rescue Higgs from the pile.
Yaxley did not stop them, but simply smiled contemptuously before announcing the disbandment, ignoring Anduin and the others.
At Yaxley's signal, the crowd quickly left the scene. Some people were still watching Higgs' misfortune, while some of the half-blood wizards anxiously returned to their dormitories.
“Higgs, are you alright? Are you okay?” Vivian patted the dust off Higgs and asked anxiously.
“Cough, cough, I'm fine. These guys are too hateful. I didn't expect that as soon as Vanessa graduated, they would try to completely control Slytherin. No, I must go to Headmaster Snape. If Headmaster Snape doesn't care, I'll go to the Headmaster!”
After coughing violently a few times, Higgs finally breathed a sigh of relief, but his face was still full of anger. In his eyes, if these guys took power, Slytherin would be finished.
“It's useless, Higgs,” Anduin stopped Higgs' impulsive idea. “Hogwarts has always adhered to the principle of autonomous house management. Unless there are special circumstances, the Headmaster will not directly interfere in house affairs. Those guys will definitely control the scale to prevent the situation from becoming serious enough to alarm the Headmaster.
As for the Head of House, how could Wilkes have become a prefect without his approval? If you go to report, you'll only be the one to suffer. They're looking for someone to make an example of, and you're just offering yourself up for punishment.”
Anduin had always been wary of Snape. Although in theory, this Head of House was trustworthy, seeing Yaxley's performance today, he still had a trace of doubt in his heart.
“Then what do we do? We can't just let them destroy Slytherin, can we? If this trend is started, the situation of those half-blood wizards… I can't even imagine it. Anduin, you're Muggle-born, they'll definitely point the finger at you.” Higgs struggled to stand up, but still said indignantly.
“Resistance is natural, but we can't just rely on the professors to help us solve it. We can only do this ourselves.” Anduin smiled and whispered in Higgs' ear.
“You're still in the mood to laugh? What time is it? And what do you mean? Could it be… that when you said 'I support you' you meant?” Vivian, who couldn't hide her thoughts, couldn't help but ask.
“That's right.” Anduin nodded. “The war has begun. Us, and them.”
Higgs was shocked to hear Anduin's words, then pulled Anduin and Vivian to a corner where no one was around, staring at Anduin.
“What war? Are you planning to fight those guys? They have more people and many of them are upperclassmen. I'm not confident that I can defeat them.”
“Don't be afraid, this isn't the first time I've fought them. I've been preparing for this. I just didn't expect them to dare to go so far. Now, all you need to consider is whether you want to join me?”
Anduin sneered, then looked at the two of them and asked.
“I've been unhappy with them for a long time. They even want to confiscate my mahjong and destroy my mahjong club. Of course I support you!” Vivian's face was slightly red, partly from anger and partly from excitement.
Higgs, on the other hand, hesitated, looking at the two people in front of him, feeling that their ideas were extremely crazy, like ants trying to push down an elephant.
“It seems you're still hesitating, Higgs. It doesn't matter, as long as you keep it a secret for us, it doesn't matter if you don't join.” Anduin said generously when he saw that Higgs hadn't expressed his position.
