Mastering Lightning from Hogwarts

#386 - Sniff (asking for monthly ticket recommendation)

Anduin was naturally assigned to take care of the Thunderbird, which was in very poor condition, with multiple wounds on its body.

Furthermore, after Newt's examination, it was discovered that it had multiple fractures that required bone correction and repositioning.

The reason it suffered such severe injuries may be related to the Thunderbird's fierce nature. Presumably, it put up strong resistance when the smugglers were hunting it, which is why it was beaten into this state.

Fortunately, with Anduin's comforting presence, this Thunderbird was the most well-behaved of all the magical creatures receiving treatment. Even the pain caused by bone correction only elicited a few mournful cries, without any excessive reactions.

After busying himself for the better part of the day, Anduin finally wiped away sweat as if relieved. By this time, the wounds on the Thunderbird's body had been disinfected and bandaged, and splints had been applied to the fractured areas.

After careful care and feeding, the Thunderbird finally fell asleep peacefully.

"Just rest here and recuperate. I'll come see you when I have time." Anduin gently stroked the feathers on the Thunderbird's head. As if hearing Anduin's call, the sleeping Thunderbird emitted a comfortable, clear cry.

After spending the day together, his relationship with this Thunderbird became even closer, and his hostility towards the Silver Spears who had injured it grew stronger.

After completing all of this, Anduin exited the compartment where the Thunderbird was placed. By this time, most of the Ministry of Magic personnel had completed the care of the magical creatures and began to evacuate back to the Ministry in batches.

Anduin, however, was kept behind by Newt, who invited him to his residence.

To be honest, Newt's house was quite cluttered, feeling even less organized than the magical creature park. Piles of books, documents, and various bottles and jars could be seen haphazardly stacked on the surrounding floor. The wooden furniture and the oil paintings of magical creatures hanging on the walls all exuded a strong historical atmosphere.

However, this slightly cluttered environment added a lot of life to Newt's home.

At the same time, Anduin discovered that Newt's house was also home to many magical creatures, such as the Augurey that stared at him with a憨憨 expression as soon as he entered, three Kneazles that scurried around his feet, and several Bowtruckles playing on the potted plants in the living room.

However, what attracted Anduin's attention the most was the Niffler that jumped onto him as soon as he entered Newt's living room.

Upon seeing him, this Niffler acted like a cat that had spotted a mouse, 'whooshing' onto Anduin's shoulder. Then, it bent down and began to paw at the silver brooch that Anduin wore on his chest, desperately trying to drag it into its arms after grabbing it.

However, this greedy Niffler had clearly chosen the wrong target. As soon as Anduin's brooch was grabbed, it emitted a faint glow, followed by the instantaneous activation of a transparent iron armor shield.

This scene startled the Niffler, and the suddenly activated shield launched it high into the air, sending it flying far away.

"Niffler! Didn't we agree not to cause trouble? Look at what you've done." Newt gently raised his hand and froze the little Niffler in the air, then retrieved it into his palm and gently tapped its head with his finger.

Then, he looked at Anduin apologetically, "Sorry, this is Niffler. It's usually quite mischievous and can't help but try to possess anything that shines. Did it scare you?"

"I should be the one apologizing." Anduin眯着eyes with a smile. He actually had a good impression of these little animals. "I forgot to turn off my equipment, and almost hurt the little guy as a result."

After speaking, Anduin unpinned the brooch from his chest and, like teasing a cat, placed it in front of Niffler, constantly teasing the little creature. Watching the Niffler constantly reach for the silver brooch but always coming up just short, he found it very amusing.

"Haha, alright, alright, stop playing. Tina has prepared a hearty lunch for us. You've been busy all night and all morning, you must be starving. Come with me to the dining room." Newt smiled happily when he saw that Anduin and Niffler were getting along well.

Anduin nodded with a smile and followed Newt inside, politely saying, "You two have been working all night without complaining of fatigue. How could I, a young man, dare to complain? And now I have to trouble Mrs. Scamander, I'm really sorry."

"There's nothing to be sorry about." At this time, Tina was carrying a pot of fragrant spaghetti from the kitchen and placing it on the table. "Newt has told me about your deeds. You saved Rolf at a critical moment, so you are our friend. Sit down quickly, my cooking skills are average, but I hope you won't dislike it."

After speaking, Tina took off her apron and motioned for the two to sit down and enjoy lunch.

However, what surprised Anduin was that at this moment, all the magical creatures living in Newt's house rushed into the dining room at the same time, climbed onto the dining table one by one, and each had their own portion of food on the table. Clearly, these little animals were going to dine with them.

Anduin was very curious about their family's strange lifestyle. After craning his neck and looking around, he asked curiously, "By the way, where's Rolf? Doesn't he live with you?"

"After the last incident, Tina and I were worried about his safety, so we sent him back to his parents. After all, we don't know if the Silver Spears will have any new actions." Newt explained while stuffing food into his mouth.

Anduin nodded upon hearing this. Indeed, if one were to learn that a criminal organization had targeted their child and still keep the child by their side, that would be quite reckless.

Then, Anduin enjoyed a very special lunch surrounded by a group of magical creatures.

After finishing the meal, Newt took Anduin to his study. The layout of the room was also very Newt-like, with various bottles, jars, books, furs, and even potions randomly placed.

"Anduin..." Newt pulled him to sit on the sofa in the study and specially poured him a butterbeer. "To be honest, I only heard about your achievements from Professor Kettleburn. Originally, I thought you were just another Hogwarts high achiever."

"Today, I truly realized from the Ministry of Magic that you even opened an alchemy firm and are also an equipment supplier for the Ministry of Magic. You are truly young and promising."

"You are too kind. I'm just lucky. I am grateful for the guidance of Professor Bones and Professor Flitwick. And I feel very honored to be able to help you. You know, my current textbook is still written by you." Anduin took a sip of butterbeer and said politely.
