Me, Adventurer! - Undoubled Skills Are Flat Magic
Episode 6 - I'm not playing like I'm playing, but I might still be playing
Since I was 4 years old, I have been able to walk around as I please, only inside the fence that surrounds the village. Because there is little danger because there is little access to the outside world or because the inside of the fence is only fields and shallow streams.
My parents keep busy with field work, chores, and surrounding sights, and I always wander around the village by myself. It's me. Weird, leave me alone.
There are no children of the same age in the village. The nearest child is also 6 years older. Now that I'm 11, I work mixed up with adults. She even had one three years before I was born, but the child died of sickness six months after she was born.
Because the grownups are busy at work, I inevitably spend a lot of time alone. I feel lonely if I am a normal child, but it is convenient for me. Because it's easy to hide and practice magic. Even if the mayor of that village can use magic, he doesn't seem to be terrible, but he still wants to hide it until it's critical. It's common for people to change because of something.
That's why I'm in the middle of a village field, in a bustling corner. Since the time is already past noon and the general farming work is over, there are no figures around.
This cramp is a companion of sweet potatoes, which the village simply calls potatoes, but officially known as forest potatoes. It is a wonderful plant with high sugar and nutrient content and easy cultivation in this village. The flavour is almost sweet potatoes, but they look like potatoes in the form of beige peels. Is it close to making the golden thousand pieces more round?
They can't grow it unless it's near the Great Forest, and when it comes to Pioneering Village, it's a classic crop, much less this potato. It can be harvested throughout the year, but it also has a strong ability to suck up its local power, and every two years we have to give the field a break and wait for recovery.
Demand seems to be high in urban areas, and it is no exaggeration to say that pedestrians coming to pioneering villages will visit for this.
This potato accumulates sugar in the light of day, but a child like me makes the leaves grow long enough to hide to the chest. So even if you use magic on hand, you don't have to worry about finding it from a distance. Then you won't have to worry the grownups because you know I'm here. Maybe they think they're even taking out bugs. You can practice magic with confidence, it's a good training ground.
I've tried a lot since then, but it seems like I can only use magic like that 3DCG. I also tried the magic of fire and water, wind and earth, light and summons, but nothing happened. Too bad.
Instead of that, I can do a lot of things with magic like that 3DCG.
In the 3DCG of the original world, the number of triangles called 'polygons' is often used as an indicator of its precision, but my magic also apparently depends greatly on this number of polygons.
When I was able to use magic for the first time, when I made about 100 polygons, it ran out of magic or MP or something like that. Now it's worth hiding and practicing, or it can be made up to about 10,000 polygons. Surprising progress. Thanks to this, various and complex shapes can also be made.
Not only that, in the beginning, we were able to make only objects of less glossy grey materials, but now we are able to express a variety of materials, such as color, gloss, reflection, transparency, and refractive index.
In addition, although the shape has been changed in response to what was previously created, it is now possible to think of the shape and material in the head and make it appear. This progress is most appreciated plainly, as it will only be fine-tuned after it emerges.
The strength of the polygon created, but apparently proportional to the amount of magic that cages and inversely proportional to the volume.
The first plane (plate) made had no thickness, so there was no volume, and only minimal magic could be caged. Would the solidity be about gofull in that case? Cream's pinched in Paris. Arr.
When that becomes a positive tetrahedron, or triangular cone, the strength increases as soon as possible, enough to stand on the trunk of the tree. If you hit a boulder, you lose and crush it.
When you make a large triangle cone, you also consume more magic, and when you apply magic, you increase hardness. A magical triangle cone makes it hard enough to have holes in the stone as opposed to the tree.
When I realized this characteristic, I could not help but leap to its usefulness. I actually danced a bit though. Suspicious dancing.
The use of magic is proportional to the volume, which means' If you mold it extremely thin, you can get high hardness with a small amount of magic '. Because being extremely thin means being small in volume.
I made an ultra-thin triangle cone to try and cut the pebble, and the stone became two straight with little resistance. The cross section is as smooth as it was polished, so much so that if something like this were rolling, it would be suspicious. I was a little freaked out. To obliterate the evidence, the stone was further finely cut and sanded.
Actually, I've noticed something else. This magic means evolution, no, functionality is added or unleashed.
In addition to the material settings that could not be used at first, a function called "library" has been added in which the shapes and materials made once can be stored and the same can be made immediately. The tools I used in my previous life had the same features, but I couldn't use them when I was able to use magic.
If you become more proficient and able to use it, you're going to be looking forward to adding useful features. Anyway, in the original world, those 3DCG tools had so many features that they couldn't handle it. If the functions of the array and array can be used, it can truly be called all-purpose magic. I'm really looking forward to it.
That's why I encourage you to study and master magic. We are now in the process of verifying the correlation between the material settings and the power consumption. Knead into the potato field, make a sphere about 10 cm in diameter, and try to change the material setting. Various changes in transparency, reflectance, and refractive index cause the surrounding landscape to appear distorted or reflect my face.
Mmm, you're really worried about me, my looks.
Is he a little over 1m tall and slightly skinny? No 20kg. The outfit is made up of a half collarless shirt and knee-length brown half pants. The face has a child-specific round face, but it has a slightly finer face. The eyes are large and slightly twitchy, and the nose is a little low as a child. In the future, the nose would be higher if the parents' genes were alive.
All in all, she's a normal kid. Not so far.
The problem is the hair color, pruning gray hair that is not similar to either of the parents, so short that it stands on the tunnel. Yes, it's not white, black or silver, it's gray. When the sun hits, it doesn't even look like silver hair, but gray without much shine is the firmest thing to do.
... Well, this is the default color for primitives.
I wish I had a pink blue one in my hair in this world, but if not, it might be a noticeable color. It doesn't seem like a very good thing to get your attention pointlessly, and I'll ask the village chief somehow next time. So far, there has been no persecution in this village for that reason.
Return to the study of magic.
When I use magic, it feels like magic (I used to say Nanica) is falling out, but it feels like magic is falling out somewhat as well when changing the material of the object I made. However, even if we change the transparency, refractive index, and reflectance dramatically, we don't feel the difference in the amount of magic that falls out. Apparently, the magic consumption does not change due to the different materials to be set.
Honestly, this was unexpected, but I appreciate it.
What's unexpected is that 3DCG tools can suddenly become heavier when you set transparency, refractive index, and reflection (computer terms that mean slower processing).
The cause of this heavier phenomenon lies in 'rendering'. In 3DCG, there is always a task called rendering that outputs what is made as an image. When complex elements such as refraction and reflection are involved, the computations required for this rendering become more numerous and heavy.
Perhaps in reality, reflection, refraction, etc. are done on their own, so it means that no extra load is applied. I'm glad there's no such thing as' heavy and the movement stops sometimes'.
That's what I always call hard in "Magic Like 3DCG". Don't you have a simple name?
... Right. For one thing, let's call it "planar magic" against Lanobe's classic space magic, subpoena magic, and space-time magic. Mathematically, polygons = triangles = planes, too. English says Polygon O Jic!
... I feel like something sucks, so let's not call it in English.
Oh, somebody stay away from me. Is this a sign of Dad? That's enough for today.
Whether it's a different world correction or because I can use magic, I'm sensitive to the signs. Even now, we can see the location of all the people living in this village, and we can see signs of the demons of the Great Forest, about 1 km away.
Looks like there's been a bit of an increase lately, I'm a little worried.
Do you want to go check next time (...).
