Miss Ordinary: I Was Reborn To Love You!

Bella Lim stared at the two leaving. She wanted to say something but felt a lump on her throat. Then, suddenly the man stopped on his track and looked back.

"Why aren't you moving?" his questioning voice surprised her. She blinked a couple of times. Was he talking to her?

"Do you want me to pull your hand again?" Bella Lim let out an awkward laugh. That man was referring to her. 

"Where are we going?" she asked nervously.

"Where else, to send you home," hearing his answer, she was horrified. Bella Lim bits her lips and rushed to the opened door when she noticed him staring at her with an eyebrow arched. This man, she thought she understood him well. Was her stalking really meant nothing?

Bella Lim sat like a statue as soon as she entered the car.

"Where do you live?" the sudden question made Bella Lim jolted in shock. 

"Countryside, 12street, House number C13," she gave a precise answer. Then, she remembered that it took almost an hour to reach that place. She opened her mouth to suggest something, but the man beat her to it.

"Tao, you heard her," Eric Wu talked to his ȧssistant who then quickly response: "Noted," 

"It takes an hour to go there. Just drop me in the nearby town. I'll catch the midnight bus," she suggested. But Eric Wu simply glanced at her without saying anything. Bella Lim sighed internally, she forgot that it was difficult to converse with this man.

"Miss Bella, don't worry, I'm a good night driver," Tao who was driving spoke. He smiled at the woman in the backseat via the rear view mirror. Just now, he was really surprised to see the resemblance she had with the woman on the canvas. They looked similar, except this woman was older. He guessed that his president probably tied the woman on the sketch with this woman.

Bella Lim stared at the front mirror with a slight frown on her face. "That's good," she replied cautiously to avoid sounding rude. She had a mixed feeling about this ȧssistant after everything she knew from her past life.

There was only silence afterward. Now and then, Tao would hum a song following the instrumental that was being played in the car. 

Besides her, Eric Wu had his eyes closed with his body relaxed against the seat. Bella Lim took this opportunity to observe the man from her sitting position. His face illuminated by the streetlight looked strikingly handsome. Bella Lim felt her emotion rippled. There was a budding flower bloomed inside her, something she had been suppressing for a long time. 

But… that was the thing of the past. In this new life, all she wanted was to live happily with little pumpkin and to protect this man from the danger he would face two years later. If that was her goal, that means she would need an excuse to be with him. So, was this feeling of love needs to be repressed? Would it be okay to love him?

Bella Lim didn't realize that she actually let out a sigh out loud, waking up the sleeping beast next to her.

She was startled when she realized that Eric Wu was looking at her as if studying her mind.

"Do you like reading?" he suddenly asked. His voice was cracked; however, it caused the fluttering heart of Bella Lim to beat even faster.

"I do," she answered after calming down a little.

"Have you read 'Autumn in December' by Enlai Gong?" 

"Yes," Bella Lim answered. There was a smile on her face.

'Gosh!'

She gasped as she realized the mistake she had done. She looked away and cringed at her careless answer. Lips bit as if punishing her for the deed done. 

'Autumn in December' was the book in which she had borrowed several lines to answer Director Gun's last question during the interview. What she did wasn't wrong, but the problem was in this time of the year, the book was still in the writing process. Enlai Gong hadn't released the book yet. Not even to his beta reader.

Bella Lim had been very careful. Alas, she exposed her own façade. 

What was really wrong you asked? 

Here it was: Enlai Gong and Eric Wu were the same person!

Unexpectedly, the man didn't say anything afterward. But this deliberated silence almost turned Bella Lim insane. She knew this man was playing with her emotion, probably to see how long she would hold before she told him everything.

"President, Miss Bella, we arrive. Is this the house?" Tao spoke, oblivious to the war that was happening between the two people sitting at the backseat.

Bella Lim felt like she had been saved from the depth of hell. She stared at Tao's back with a grateful look.

"Yes," she said and was about to rush out when she felt a hand was restraining her from leaving. She braved herself to look at the man's eyes which slowly lowered to his ċhėst area. His eyes… they were inexplicable and scary.

She really needed to say something, or this man would kill her with just his gaze.

"I respect Enlai Gong's works," she said, trembling. He should understand what she meant right? 

In that instant, she felt Eric Wu's grip gradually loosened. A sigh left her lips again in a way that showed how much she feared this man and how much she felt like being recouped.

"You better be,"

she heard him and nodded, heeded to the warning. 

Finally, Bella Lim could leave the car. She almost fell when her feet touch the ground. The incident had given her so much pressure, her knees weakened.

"Thank you," she said without daring to look at the car. She didn't notice when the car left but when she looked up, it was no longer there.

Bella Lim ran up the few steps and knocked on the door. Soon, Lily's head popped out from the still chained door. Lily untangled the chain and stared at her who had a petrified look on her face. 

"What happened?" Lily asked.

"Bella!" she shouted when Bella Lim suddenly dropped to the floor. Her eyes lifeless, like she just went through a hellish experience.

"Sis~" the woman called upon her weakly. 

"Let me help you," Lily held Bella Lim's shoulder and helped her towards the sofa inside the house.

"What happened?" she asked again.

"Give me alcohol," 

"What??!" 

Lily looked at the woman sitting on the sofa, stupefied. She watched her stand up and waddled to the fridge. Soon, she was seen hugging four sets of beer. The whole night, Lily accompanied the woman drinking. No talking, nothing. When she fell asleep, Bella Lim was still drinking!

"I'm gonna drink my misfortune away~" the woman sorrowful voice echoed through the night.
