Monochrome Stories

Chapter 26 - - Ep 25: Rogue

Crimson's POV

"Did you wait long?" A voice from behind me asked. I turned around and saw my girlfriend, Rouge. She had long and fluffy light crimson hair, matching the color of her lips. She was wearing a red dress and a blue denim jacket over it. She had scarlet eyes that looked beautiful under the sunlight. "The train was delayed, sorry." She apologized. She looked so beautiful.

I placed my hand on her head. "It's fine. I just got here myself." I replied.

I confessed to her last night, and I was surprised to know that she felt the same. This is the first day that we're officially going out.

We met a few months ago when we were looking for another vocalist for our band. She's a friend of one of our members, and we were introduced through him. At first, we started out writing songs and practicing together, but then as time went on, we started to hang out outside of our time in the band.

We talked a lot about our past, and we were similar in a lot of ways. We were both outcasts just looking for someplace to fit in. She was too boyish to get along with the girls, and she was too feminine to hang out with the boys. She had nowhere to belong to, but whenever she sang... She looked so happy. Her smile is something I never want to vanish from her face. I guess I started falling for her when I realized that.

"Is there anything you wanna do?" I asked.

She looked at me and smiled. "I'm a bit hungry." She replied.

"Sure, come on." I said as I offered up my hand. She placed her hand in mine and we started walking. It was so soft.

Our day continued until evening arrived. We had some dinner and I decided to walk her to the train station, our hands still holding.

"Crimson..." She called me.

"What is it?" I asked. I glanced at her and saw that she was blushing. She's so cute when she's like this.

We stopped since we were in front of the train station. She let go of my hand and walked closer to me.

"Can I kiss you?" She asked.

Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh my God. Isn't this too soon? Aren't we moving a bit too fast here? I mean, we just started going out. Is this okay? Can I really?

"Um..." I stuttered.

"Oh..." She said as she tilted her head down. "I'll get going now. Good night, Crimson. Take care on your way home."

"Wait!" I exclaimed as I grabbed her hand. Shit. I instinctively grabbed it, but I have no idea what I'm gonna do...

"What is it, Crimson? If you aren't gonna say anything, can you let me go? I don't wanna miss the train."

I didn't think twice that day. I kissed her on the lips. Her lips were soft, and tasted a bit sweet. That was the day I lost my first kiss. I thought I'd be happy I lost it to her, but it felt different. It felt... Wrong...

"Why?" Black asked. He wasn't looking at me. He was focused on the game, but I could tell he was listening. I couldn't really judge since I was focused on the game too.

"Well..."

The next day, we had band practice. I went earlier than all the others since I wanted to write a new song while it was still quiet.

I took a seat at the corner of the room by the drum set and opened up my notebook to write. I heard the door to the room open, but I didn't look to see who it was. I have too much in my head right now and I don't wanna lose any lyrics.

I felt a light tap on my shoulder. "You're early today, aren't you?" A male voice asked. I finished writing whatever I had in my head and looked up to see the drummer of the band, Kuro. He had messy, dark blue hair. He had one piercing on his left ear, and another one on his lips. He's really good looking, so a lot of girls are attracted to him, but sometimes he can be a bit aggressive and hot headed, which scares them away, but he's really a caring guy. He just has some trouble showing it. He's way more mȧturė than me even though he's one year older. He acts like a father if I were to be honest. "Oh shit. I didn't know you were writing lyrics. Sorry for disturbing you." He backed up a little.

I closed my notebook and stood up. "It's fine. You gonna practice?" I asked.

"No... Actually..." He avoided eye contact.

"What is it?" I asked.

"Can we talk outside?"

We headed out and sat somewhere a bit far away from the building we were in.

"So, what did you wanna talk about?" I asked.

"Oh, right... I heard you and Rogue started going out." He replied.

"Yeah. How'd you know?"

He didn't answer.

"Kuro?" I called him.

He didn't answer again.

He looked at me with a look of concern on his eyes. "Does Ivory know about this?" He asked.

"I haven't told anyone yet. We plan to tell everybody later." I replid.

"Don't... Carnation, Teal, and I already know. Rogue told Teal about it the night you confessed, and he told us, but we haven't told Ivory yet..."

"Why? And why are you stopping me from telling him?"

"Crimson, do you really not know?"

"About what?"

I felt a light tap on my shoulder and a voice whispered in my ear. "Ivory likes Rogue."

I get startled and stumbled on the ground. I looked up and saw the second guitarist of our band, Teal. He's currently a college student studying medicine. He had medium length, silver hair, with some covering his eyes. He's very self conscious of his eyes since he has heterochromia, which is why he likes to grow his hair long. He's really tall, and he also acts like the big brother of the group. He's the one who introduced Rogue to us.

"Sorry if I startled you." He said, taking out a cigarette stick and lighting it.

"Teal, he's a kid. Don't smoke in front of him. Have you ever heard of second hand smokers?" Kuro asked as he grabbed the cigarette stick out of Teal's mouth.

"You know, sometimes I start to think about who's older than us." Teal replied, holding out his hand to help me up. "Anyway, Crimson, you heard what I said."

"Ivory likes Rogue?" I asked as I grabbed his hand to pull myself up. "Why do you know this?"

Teal faced Kuro. "Hey, can you leave us alone for a bit?" He asked him. "I wanna talk with Crimson in private."

"Oh, sure." Kuro replied as he headed off. "Be sure to come back by 9."

"Yeah, yeah. So, anyway, Crimson..." Teal said, facing me with a serious look on his face.

"Y-yes?" I asked very nervously. My hands were shaking because of how nervous I was. Teal isn't usually the type of person who gets serious, which is why it's nerve-wracking when he does.

"Carnation told us, and told us to not tell you. She had a feeling that you liked Rogue, and I guess Ivory might've thought of it too, considering he didn't tell you." He sighed and lit up another cigarette. "You don't mind, right?"

"N-no." I replied. "So, what do I do then?"

"If I were you, then I'd break up with Rogue. I don't have anything against you. It's just that I feel like this might end badly for us."

"Why would it end badly?"

"What would happen if Ivory finds out about you two? I'm sure he'll try and support you the best he can, but he'll just be hurting inside. A musician's emotions are transferred to the music they make, so think of what kind of music he'll make with that in mind."

"It would be sorrowful..."

"Exactly. Crimson, I know you must be so happy that both you and Rogue like each other, but please consider the band. This is the only place people like me and you have. This is our only escape from our horrible realities. I'm not the only one who wants to lose this. I'm sure you feel the same too, but I have a strong feeling that if you and Rogue continue, it'll be the downfall of our band."

"......"

"Crimson, please think this through. I'm sorry to put so much pressure on you, but this is for the sake of your friendship with you best friend, and for the sake of our band."

"I... I understand..."

He smiled and hugged me. "I really am sorry, Crimson." He said as he tightened his hug.

"It's fine, but can you give me time?"

He let go. "You can take as long as you want. We won't tell Ivory anything, but I'm worried that Rogue won't keep her mouth shut."

"I'll handle her."

He put his cigarette put. "Come on then. We still have practice." He said, gesturing me to follow.

I'm conflicted... But I guess he's right. My friendship with Ivory is more important, and I'd rather see him happy... This is gonna be fine. There shouldn't be anything to worry about, but why does my ċhėst hurt so much?
