Chapter 2179: Briefing

Thud!

I fell on the ground as I walked out of the teleportation gate; the last attack took too much of me. It left me weak and shaking but Ive survived, and that is all that matters.

"Lord Micheal!"

Several voices said as I fell and came to help me, but I rejected their help. I took a couple of deep breaths before slowly getting up. The weakness had come because I had used too much energy at the time of instant; it won't take me long to recover enough to function normally.

"Let's go; I have to brief Lord Whitman about the mission," I said to one of the assistants of lord Whitman who was waiting by the teleportation gate.

He nodded after a moment of hesitation, and we walked toward lord Whitman's office.

Click!

A few minutes later, I opened the door to lord Whitman's office and walked inside. Lord Whitman is sitting on his usual chair with tens of screens in front of him, but it is not him. He is not present in his office; it is just his projection.

It is not surprising, there is a huge war going, and a powerful person like him could not always remain in his office, even if it is his responsibility. He had to participate in the war, secretly or otherwise.

"Micheal, you do not look good," Lord Whitman said; he looked at me, "I do not feel good," I said and took the seat he had offered.

"I assume you have come across something dangerous?" he asked, and his face turned quite serious when he asked that. "Yes, something very powerful. A powerful scion of Golden Fire Werewolf Tribe," I replied, and a thread of energy released from my finger and formed a small projection.

I would have made it bigger, but I only have the energy to support one of this size. I had shown him the important parts while explaining with my mouth.

It is very hard to record the powerhouses with such clarity, their power interferes with it, but I did not use any tech or an artifact to record it. Ive recorded it through my core; with it, everything came clearly without any interference.

"Another core scion of top royal tribe, and this one seemed quite very powerful," Lord Whitman said with a sigh.

"It had even got scrying great art," he added. There is something in his voice that I can't place. It seemed like there is more to it than I know, but I did not ask; such things should not be known without sufficient power, and I don't think the lord Whitman would tell me, even if I had asked him.

"Micheal, you have done a great job in this mission. Not only you have killed the vidette but also able to rescue five of our people," Lord Whitman said after some, to that I just smiled.

While the mission could say to be a success but I am still not feeling the joy I should be feeling.

My battle against the Werewolf was eye-opening, and it gave me a lot of things to think about; it seemed like even with all advancement and advantage, I am not as powerful as I had thought I was.

Though I am disappointed by my battle with Werewolf and how I had to run away, I am not sad.

Unlike the Werewolf, who is Master, I am still an Elite. If we had been at the same level, I would have been able to kill it with just my breath, but my path is difficult, and I don't know how long it would take me to reach Master class as I am still not ready to break out of Elite class despite reaching the limit.

I stayed in the office of lord Whitman for a few minutes before I got out. I did not go back home but went to the infirmary instead. I wanted to check on my friend Rhea. Though her condition was better than the rest of Masters, she was still heavily injured.

Tap Tap

In a few minutes, I had reached the huge infirmary and knocked on the door of the room she was admitted him.

"Knock!"

A door opened, and it was not Rhea who opened it but women in her early forties. I am quite familiar with and have even given a few lessons. She is Ahana, a Master class healer in both level and designation, and also the student of Grandmaster Charline.

"Lord Micheal, what are you doing here?" She asked, "I have come to see my friend, Ahana. Can I come?" I said.

She did not reply, instead looked back at the room. "Let him come," Rhea's voice rang out, "Please come in, lord Micheal," Ahana said as she invited me.

Inside is a medium sizes room with Rhea and lying in a med-bed. "How is her condition?" I asked Ahana beside me.

"She was already stabilized when she came; I only had to aid her a little in healing some of the injuries," she said, and suddenly some understanding dawned on her face as her eyes lighted up for a moment, but she had not asked about it.

I looked at the vitals that were being projected above her med bed, and as Ahana said, she was out of danger.

If she had come back from a normal mission, she would have been discharged already to make the rest of the recovery in the comfort of her home, but after what she had faced in the in ruin, it will at least a few days before they discharged her.

"How are you feeling?" I asked Rhea while Ahana left quietly to give us some privacy. "I am fine, just hope they do a quick job in psych evaluation and let me get out of here," she said and looked at me hopefully.

"Sorry, I could not help you with that," I said with a smile, hearing that she cast me a mock glare.

Even if I wanted to, I could not, unless she gets the go-ahead from the head of the psych, she would not be able to leave.. Only council members could do that, and war had not reached such a stage that they would release the powerhouses without any psych evaluation.
