Chapter 2247: Test

"This should work," I said to myself as I suddenly increased the heat of the fire and smitten the pan with hundreds of tiny bolts of thunder before making it all disappear.

Everything was perfectly calculated, and not the slightest mistakes have occurred. The look of the dish is proof of that, and so is its delicious smell; now, I just have to taste it before I finalize it.

Ever since I have returned from the realm, I have been working on these recipes, refining them every day.

Today is the day I think I have perfected the recipe, but I will only know after I taste it. I am not the only one that is tasting it; there are my mentees in front of me whom I have called today to taste.

The teacher was also supposed to come, but the medical emergency had come up, and she couldn't come.

This recipe of mine is different from all the others I have created before. Creating it, I have let go of my usual style and freed myself to consider all the ideas which I had considered preposterous.

My battle with the Hogman and seeings primal fighting style and thunderous raw attacks. I became inspired and created this recipe which I hope would be enough to pass the test of that being.

I placed the food in the seven plates; two disappeared in my core white five went toward me and my mentees.

All of them looked at the dish with great wonder before moving their forks toward it after I did. I did not eat it; I want to see their reaction hear their opinion before I will take the bite of the dish which I have considered my best culinary creation.

All three of them took the bite, and as they did, they closed their eyes and did not open it till they finished gulping up the bite.

"It is amazing, lord Micheal, much better compared to anything else you have cooked for us so far and also really different," Ida said, looking at me with burning eyes.

Hearing those words couldn't help but appear on my face, and Ive became even more confident in my recipe.

"It is delicious, and your masterful control over raw energy is amazing. Ive never seen having such control over the raw energy," She said, which made my eyes a little serious, though a smile remained on my face.

The reason Ive begun working so hard on the recipe after returning from the realm is control. After reaching the Grandmaster class, the control Ive is not enough.

My control over energy, soul, and body is better than half of the Grandmaster, but unlike those Grandmaster, I did not have decades, even centuries of time time to accumulate great battle experience, reached very high into their skills.

Even with the help of my core and talent, I could only match the people in those aspects and could not surpass them in a short time, but with the help of tome, I could surpass them in control, and that will give me an edge in battle.

I need to hone my control to the degree that people might consider impossible. I need the control, not only for healing but also for the battle where my most important killing more, which I used the majority of the time, is dependent on control.

The new skill that Ive gotten from my art also demands a lot of control; with enough control, I could make it even more lethal than it already is.

The only thing that could help me rapidly improve my control is the tome, as I have reached the limit in my own methods, but to learn from the tome, I had to pass the test, which has already thrown away more than fifty recipes of mine.

After hearing their remarks, I took the bite from my plate and couldn't help but close my eyes in pleasure while my mouth made an unconscious noise.

It is really good, much better than the previous try. It is also seemed to be on completely level than other recipes. It is powerful enough to completely overwhelm the senses of Tyrant, which is not an easy thing seeing how powerful the senses of Tyrants are.

This recipe is also quite dangerous; only Tyrants could enjoy it while those below would get injured or killed by the raw energies present inside.

They left after dinner while I went back to my room and took the tome in my hands before opening it.

"So, you have come again; I thought it would take you a year or two before you came back seeing how dispirited you have gotten in the last time," The being said, something that only a real person could say.

I don't know what it is, a real being, part of the soul, or just a spirit. I had asked it, but it always gave me vague answers, which created more questions than the answers.

"Thanks to your tips, my lord, I was able to create the recipe that you will surely love," I said.

Last time, it had used quite harsh words judging my recipe and even burned it. If anyone else had been in my place, they would have cried hearing those words and seeing their dish burned.

I cried, not in front of hum but outside; the words were too harsh that I couldn't stop the tears falling down from my eyes.

"You have used these words so many times that I fear that it would be the title of your autobiography," It said without mincing the words which had stung quite much.

"This time, it would really be different," I repeated, "I hope it's really different this time because if you failed, I might just ban you from the tome for a year or two," It said.

"It would not happen, my lord," I said and walked toward the kitchen; there, I took a single deep breath to calm myself before opening my eyes which were full of conviction to succeed.
