3159 Bad to Worse

"You are injured!" said the Werewolf suddenly with wide eyes, as the things in mind clicked.

The Werewolf is more intelligent than I had thought.

"No wonder you have attacked us. If you had not, we would have discovered you and then it would have been over for you," it said added, and a bit of smile appeared on its face.

It became dumb again. Though not that dumb, anyone in its place would think the same.

It is better to attack proactively than wait for the attackers. My success in killing Bearman gave more proof to its theory.

"Wow, you are so intelligent," I mocked. Which, instead of making it angry, makes it smile brightly.

"Mocking isn't going to save you, human," it said and attacked.

Its attack is only slightly stronger considering it was already using its full power, but it is more daring. It is bad for me, as in my current state, not only I am limited by my power but also by my moves.

There are still a few minutes before I receive a strengthening energy. It had been only a few seconds since it begin.

Till it happens, I will have to survive; at any cost.

CLANG!

I defended against its claw covered in sparkling energy, which would explode like bombs. Exploding as they touched my armor.

My clone immediately started to make a change in my armor to deal with it, while I move my sword to defend against another claw.

CLANG CLANG CLANG

My sword stopped it, but the Grimm disappeared and appeared behind me and attacked again.

I moved and defended at the last moment, but it disappeared again and appeared in front with its claws.

It continued to attack, and I defended at the edge. It is hard and very painful and I wish I hadn't attacked it. This bastard intelligent knows how to take advantage of the opportunity.

Werewolves are like that, most of them are dumb, but some turn out smart as this one. They are most frustrating to fight.

There is no option. I will have to keep it at the bay till the strengthening energy came. I will do it.

It did not matter the pain I will have to bear and the price I have to pay to do it. As defeat will only end in death, there is no escape in this scenario.

"I wonder how long you will keep this up. Sooner or later, your injuries will get you and then, I will kill you," it said grinningly, while a smile appeared on my face too.

"I have killed more of you in a worse state than you had killed in your life. I will be fine." I said.

This time, it did not smile, as if sensing the truth in my voice, and instead, its expression became serious.

"Well, then it is important that I send you to the underworld as soon as possible," it said and intensified its attacks with even more daring.

It is open to many sides and if I had been at my peak.

I could have just walked ahead and poked my sword into its chest with no resistance, but now it is me who is resisting. Something like that wouldn't happen to me.

It continued to attack, more and more intensely, while I was having a hard time defending against them.

My injuries are so much worse and they are worsening by the second. Even the healing formation could only slow them down and not stop them.

Without strengthening energy; I wouldn't be able to last more than a few minutes.

Thankfully, the strengthening energy is guaranteed. I only need to fight it for a few minutes. After it, I could kill it.

Hun!

A little over two minutes passed and soon, it would be all over, when suddenly, I sensed something, and it couldn't help but change my expression drastically.

I wish the werewolf bastard had not sensed it, but I would be dreaming, if I had thought that.

It did. The faint change in expressions is proof of that.

There is another Grimm, and the bastard is coming toward and looking at things. I did not look like, Werewolf, will stop him.

"Need any help?" asked the Ratman with black claws and a gray body.

"No, I could handle it on my own," replied the Werewolf defensively and I couldn't help but take a sigh in relief internally.

The Ratman is not normal. It is a Mid-Primary III, with a bloodline. It had a powerful aura, stronger than Bearman I had killed.

It is stronger than it is.

"Come on, I will only take its body. You can have its storage and artifacts," said Ratman. The Werewolf opened its mouth, but hesitated to say whatever it was saying.

"You better follow on your promise," said Werewolf finally with gritted teeth, while I cursed internally.

"Don't worry about it!" said Ratman with a smile.

It is clear the Ratman had no intention of doing that, and it did not even hide it, but what could the Werewolf do.

It is weaker than Ratman. If it wished it, it could be able to kill it, which means it could kill me.

As the Ratman uttered the words, it moved, while a white short thin blade appeared in its hand. The blade is short by the Grimms' standard, but it is still over three times longer than my sword.

"Die human!" said the Ratman as its powerful bloodline aura burst out, with the claw of Werewolf coming at me from the other side.

CLANG!

I was able to able to defend against the attack of the Werewolf and moved to dodge the attack of Ratman, but failed.

Rip!

Its blade ripped through my collarbone. Cutting the bone by a few centimeters.

It was a killing strike, which I was able to mostly dodge, but it still injured me. The physical injury was slight, but the blade had sent the energies directly into my body, making my already worse injuries even worse.

"Hehe, you dodged," said the Ratman with a grin, before attacking again, while the attack of the Werewolf come from the other side.

Within a few seconds, things have bad to worse. This time, it was not my fault.

CLANG Rip!

Once again, I defended the attack from the Werewolf, but the attack of Ratman hit me.

It was my back, and the injury was quite gruesome, both physically and by energy.

Seconds passed, and I defended against every attack of the Werewolf, but it was Ratman's, which got me. 80% of its attack had hit me and it is not even using its full power.

If it had. I might not even be standing here.

"Wolfman, you have found a quite good opponent. It might not have much strength, but it is good at dodging death," said the Ratman and to my horror, increased the power of its attack.

CLANG RIP

Once again, I could defend against the Werewolf, but Ratman got nearly cut my thigh.

I wish I could focus on defending against Ratman's attack while letting the Werewolf attack me, but that would be bad.

I could defend against it, but I could not bear the shock of its attacks. That would immobilize me, killing me a moment later.

Seconds passed, and I continued fighting. Dodging the attacks of Ratman partially. Mostly due to sheer luck than skill, but I think the luck had begun to dry out, as the body had started to get weak.

If it continued, then I wouldn't even last for ten seconds.

Buzz!

I was losing hope in my despair, when the sound, I was wishing to hear in hours like seconds, rang out through my core.

From that second, things changed.
