—-Jiggle~ Blob~ Fumu~

I looked at the slimy creature in front of me, jiggling around with two crescent lines, supposedly its eyes looking pleased.

Hmmmmmmm!

,m What is this thing?

—-Rub! Rub!

Whatever it was, it was extremely cute and jiggly!

"What are you, little guy?"

~~M-ma–~~

'What…?'

Suddenly, I received a telepathic message, the voice sounded like that of a little child.

For a second, I believed that Bloodsong was playing pranks on me!

~~It wasn't me, master!~~

'I know! Don't sulk.'

~~Ma-ma.~~

"..."

It was clear this time. I could feel that the telepathic communication was from the little jelly ball.

'I am not your mama!'

~~Master!~~

Oh, so it was trying to call me master.

—-Phew!

I dodged a bullet there. But wasn't it just an infant? How did it start talking so soon… Aren't monsters that can talk super rare?

~~Well, it's a monster hatched from the Mystic Seed. It definitely isn't ordinary… although it looks like slime. But…why did it have to be a slime? The lowest of monsters! My master deserves a pet like a dragon! Or a phoenix! Or one of the four divine beasts! Anything is fine, but why a slime?~~

Looks like someone is unhappy. I was trying to keep my expression as natural as I could. Currently, there were a lot of people in the small hut.

Kai, Kylose, Kris, Ena, and Jezebeth. They were looking at my face as if I was a specimen of sorts.

After her revival, Jezebeth had evolved into a Kijin, an evolution of ogre which was comparable to Elves! Not many ogres had the privilege of evolving into a Kijin, so Jeze had become someone truly special.

Her single horn on one side was now much bigger and slimmer than before. She looked a lot more human than before, even her skin colour was a healthy white as if she had turned into a human. Her hair was now green-coloured and…. ahem, she seemed to have grown healthier.

No, no, she wasn't fat! No way! She just… seemed to have grown taller and her… bust seemed to have—

"Shura!"

Ena shouted at me as she caught me taking glances at Jeze's healthy bosom.

—-Cough! Cough!

"I am looking at the screen in front of me, the screens! Don't misunderstand."

Ena pouted as I lied with a straight face. Jeze just giggled a bit as she looked at me with warm eyes.

Since I had already lied, I might as well just check the notifications that I got when I revived Jeze.

'Holy. Fucking. Shit!'

I was under the radar of so many people that I felt like I was being stalked by a bunch of perverts.

I unconsciously rubbed my biceps due to how weird I was feeling. Jolts of shivers continuously passed by my body.

—-Rub rub rub

As if sensing my fear, the small slime climbed onto my lap and rubbed its body against my hands.

"You're so soft, wow."

I didn't expect that. I thought a slime would be more…. Slimier? But it was surprisingly soft and warm, and it didn't have that weird sticky texture that most slimes had.

As I slowly rubbed the…head of the slime? Their whole body was… I don't even know if it was a he or she…

Well, let's just check its status.

"....."

WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK?

What is this thing?

All of a sudden, the simple slime sitting on my lap made me shiver more than the beings that were watching me secretly.

"What is this thing, Bloodsong?"

"Who's Bloodsong?"

"Bloodsong what…?"

I asked Bloodsong if he knew anything about the simple-looking creature in my lap, but I was so engrossed in my thoughts that I asked out loud instead of asking through a mental message, making the others in the room puzzled.

"Bloodsong is my dagger's name, he can talk."

"Oh, okay…. WAIT WHAT?"

Ena replied simply before contemplating the actual meaning behind my words, her jaw seemed like it would drop to the ground. The others were just as amazed, but I didn't feel like entertaining them right now.

~~I am not sure master… Why are you so shocked though?~~

The unaware Bloodsong asked and I felt like instead of explaining, it would be better to show it.

There was an option in-game to show your notification and status screens to people only you want to show, and if you don't want to, most people won't be able to see it. Now since I knew that higher-grade NPCs had status screens, I was sure there was a way to share my status screen with NPCs too.

I changed permissions and simply thought of being able to share my status screen with Bloodsong. Immediately afterwards, Bloodsongs girly shriek pierced my brain.

'Will you shut up? I am shocked too, you know?'

~~M-Master… t-this thing… I m-mean this honoured being… How did you manage to hatch it out of an egg…?~~

'Like I have any idea! Do you know anything about this guy?'

I asked in annoyance. His exaggerated reaction was enough for me to confirm that something like this slime shouldn't exist.

~~Master, please show some respect! T-this… I'll be honest with you. Even in my centuries of experience and even in the time when I was physically alive, I have never heard of anything like this. But one thing that I remember from my previous master's words is when the talk about the beginning of time was going on. He talked about how our world was a mere speck in the grand scheme of things and how there lay three beings so ancient that they were titled the primordial. Apart from that one time, I have never heard of anything else. What they are, how long they've been living, or how powerful they are, I have no idea whatsoever.~~

From his talk and his revering tone, I was sure that what Bloodsong was saying was true. Now the problem was.

'How the fuck did I manage to obtain this… this is too unrealistic to be true. Is this what they call the protagonist's plot armour or protagonist's halo? But I am not even in any danger!'

—-Shiver!

I shivered as soon as I thought of it. I felt like I had just jinxed myself with dangerous situations.

"Shura… you don't seem well."

Jeze walked forward and put her hand on my forehead. Then she slid her hands at the back of my head as she slowly rustled her fingers through my hair.

"Jeze…"

She touched my forehead with hers, and I could see her beautiful face barely an inch away from me. I could even feel her breath. Weirdly enough, even in this sensual situation, I didn't get any lewd thoughts as I simply looked into her emerald-coloured eyes, which were watery.

"I missed you."

She said slowly, her voice filled with emotions.

"Me too."

I replied earnestly. Ever since she died, all that I had been thinking of was her.

"I was so scared when I suddenly got attacked by the Grivantula. The physical pain was much lesser than the pain of knowing that I would never be able to see you, or my papa again. I had so many regrets. I-I love you, Shura. I don't want any more regrets. Please, don't die before I do."

At the end of her sentence, she had a beautiful smile as tears fell from her reddened cheeks. I could feel the amount of courage she had gathered in order to say all this.

"What a coincidence; I love you, Jezebeth. Don't you dare to die on me again, it feels horrible to live while knowing the person you love is dead."

Even through her tears, Jezebeth giggled. I kissed her forehead slowly, as she closed her eyes and we both enjoyed the connection that we had formed.

—-Jiggle Jiggle

'I forgot about this guy.'

The slime was happily dancing (Jiggling) in my lap, making everyone laugh as Jeze finally composed herself and stood back.

'Uh… of course, Ena ran away.'

Ena was no longer in the hut, she might have run away when Jeze and I were having our 'bonding'.

I sighed. Her heart was going to be broken sooner or later. Although we hadn't spent much time with each other, she already had a hugely positive impression of me as her saviour, which just kept on improving over time.

'Oh well, I'll talk to her later.'

~~N-name.~~

The slime sent a mental message to me, again.

'What name?'

[Your pet is still unnamed. It's a master's duty to name their pets, which creates a stronger bond between the master and pet, and increases the power of both.]

'A name, huh.'

I am not really the best at thinking of names.
