Morningstar Of Sin

Chapter 58 - Sorcerer Tony

(A/N: Seeing you guys make theories is great and all but drawing conclusions based on theories, dropping the novel and then leaving an angry review is stupid and I'll just delete it. This counts for Reaper as well lol. It's only happened 3 times I know that isn't a lot but it's odd that it's happened more than once lol.

---------------------------------------------

Tony and Banner had gotten pretty close in the week and a half that I was gone. Apparently they met when he came over to talk and found out I was out. Since Banner is wanted by the secret agencies of the world it was an awkward meeting.

Having gained some magical knowledge Tony wasn't scared of Bruce in his hulk form so they hit it off well. Tony doesn't have many friends with Rhodes and I being it. Bruce is a loner by nature, if not for Betty forcing him to go outside I don't think he would know what daylight is.

After getting Bruce into his groom's attire we head to the roof. The Lilacs are in full bloom lining both sides of the rooftop, in the center is a white path laid with lilac petals leading to a traditional archway.

I nod to Bruce as I head to my seat leaving him in the doorway. I sit down in my seat as Tony sits a few down from me. I am in between Angela and Tandy with Jessica and Darcy in the outer seats.

The pastor walks down the aisle first and I can feel Angela's eyes burning a hole into the back of my head. I turn to her with a whisper "Yes?"

"If you don't like your father so much why does a pastor run the ceremony?" She whispers curiously.

I smirk "That pastor is actually a demon who took a week-long course online to become an ordained wedding officiant. I have a few hands in the church for fun so I had him come. My father could care less about humans so the religion is just a hoax honestly."

She looks confused as she hasn't learned much about the internet but she silently nods as she understands the gist of it. The wedding went well, the reception went even better. I got to see Angela have her first real sips of alcohol, and she is a funny drunk.

The Ancient One never showed up like she said she would, I'll have to punish her later. Jessica made contacts with a few of Betty's friends along with Darcy who was a bit confused but had the right spirit.

After I brought all the drunk girls to bed they instantly fell asleep and I was left sitting on the couch drinking looking at the moonlight through the window. I hear the elevator door ding. I turn to see Tony and Agent Romanoff walk in.

I hold up my glass of wine "A bit late for a threeway no?"

She looks between Tony and me "Not a chance."

Tony gives a wry grin "I'm here to talk about the whole, magic thing. Agent Romanoff is here about S.H.I.E.L.D. again. But I'm sure you could have guessed that."

I wink at her as I address Tony "It was just a joke, sit, I'm curious how you found out how to use magic with the lack of human knowledge of it."

Tony sits on the end of the L couch while Natasha pulls a chair from the breakfast nook and sets it across from me with crossed legs. I smile at her hard face as I look back at Tony and gesture at him to start his story.

He sighs as he leans back "That day. The day you saved me and revealed you were the devil I was lost. I have always believed the world operated in the way I understood and you shattered that theory. I wanted a reason."

"A reason everything WORKED." He leans forward balling his fists looking down. "I got the idea if I was to understand the world again I would need to understand magic. I began researching Albion, Christianity, Nordic, Tibetan, basically any mythology I could think of."

"Anything that had magic in it. At first, I got nothing but hocus pocus bullshit. But with Javis's help, I was able to work out common similarities between the magic of each region of the world. I was able to infer a magic circle that should have theoretically worked."

"It didn't, I tried at least a hundred ways to get a reaction. It wasn't until I was sitting in bed one night sketching the circle that I got a reaction. There was a spike in my vitals and Jarvis warned me of unknown radiation in my room."

"After getting it to work once I was able to replicate it until I almost died. My heart slowed and I suffered an episode of Bradycardia fainting onto the floor. Pepper found me in time and gave me a shot of adrenaline."

I nod my head "You ran out of mana, you were drawing power from yourself to cast an incomplete spell. Very bad for your health."

He shrugs "I was able to manufacture my own magic based on the principle of the one I reverse engineered. I managed to make spells revolving around the manipulation of technology. I suppose you could call me a technomancer." He says with a c.o.c.ky grin.

Seeing my bored face he continues "I began looking at MRIs of mutant brains, it's known they have an extra portion of the brain active at all times, unlike humans. I found this directly correlated with my own new brain activity. So I concluded that mutants are just born with magic activated in their own PRE PROGRAMMED unique ways."

"I got in touch with the foremost meta-human scientist and mutant himself, Charles Xavier. He was a great help in understanding my own powers and limitations. Right now I can only use my magic to help me fight in my suit but it all makes sense now… I just can't understand how mana works, how does the human body turn radiation into power, or is it power into radiation?"

I shrug "I don't know, you lost me at technomancer. Sorcerer's all have their own ways of understanding it, most of them aren't wrong, but who can say who is right?" I say taking a sip of wine.

"Thank you for sharing though, glad you've been alright. The insight on mutants will be helpful." I sigh as I turn to Natasha. "Alright, give me your spiel before I lose interest in your t.i.t.s."

She glares at me "Mr. Morningstar, I'm not here today to ask you to join us again. I'm here to ask what you have on president Ellis."

My brows raise in surprise "You found out? Your detective skills are truly remarkable. I'm sure the puzzle pieces were hard to put together. First, he allows an unproven cure to be spread to the population then legalizes the hard drugs that ONLY I SELL. What an ace detective."

"I'm not here to be belittled, Mr. Morningstar. Answer the question... Please." She says the last part with a fake courteous smile.

"I can't belittle you, you have such a nice rack." I turn to Tony giving a thumbs up and a nod.

He gives a small nod in return trying not to get caught "This lecherous devil act won't work on me, Mr. Morningstar. I know you think you're the devil but nothing like that exists."

I tilt my head confused as Tony points at me "Natasha, I don't think he is faking it. I've only recently entered the world of magic but even I know he is ridiculously strong."

I shrug giving him a nod "He has a point." I say pointing back at Tony.

Natasha looks at Tony with raised brows "So you think letting untested drugs into the hands of everyday civilians is okay? What if they were harmful in an unknown way or addictive."

Tony shrugs "I've seen the formula for the drug, it's brilliant, if it was anything bad it would have been found by now."

"And what of the president?" She shoots back.

"Isn't it better to be in my pocket than an oil company that will destroy the plant?" I ask with a snide smile.

"No." She says simply.

"Now you're just being biased," I say refilling my glass of wine.

"Can I have some?" Tony asks.

"Sure." I pull a wine glass out of the air showing a bit of my infernal magic as I pour him a glass of wine.

Natasha sighs "I don't know why I came with you to talk to him." She says shaking her head,

Tony leans back taking a sip of wine "Because of my charm." I laugh at his words as I get up to grab some better liquor.

"Do you want some Natasha?" I ask while opening the wine cellar under the kitchen floor.

She sighs as she sits on the opposite end of the couch as Tony "F.u.c.k it, pour me some."

I smirk as I start pouring more. "Don't forget to sign that contract I gave you," I say walking back over to them.

"Nope." She says simply while taking the wine from me.

"Meh. I sit back down stretching as I do.

We ended up spending the rest of the night talking. Natasha can hold her liquor VERY well. It's too bad.
