At the Xia Family Old Residence, the family of four plus the Di twins were having a rather special breakfast.

If you would not agree that a breakfast with the mother ignoring her whole family and only focusing on one of her guest was special, then what else should it be called?

Di Yi was quite speechless as he glanced at Madam Xia's beautiful profile.

The Madam had not yet finished piling up food on his plate!

But seeing her genuine concern towards his welfare, Di Yi could not bring himself to tell her that he was already full.

Unable to reject the Madam's kind hospitality, Di Yi thanked her before digging into the small pile of food in his plate.

Xia Jinhu felt ache for his knight in shining armor as he watched him eat another plate despite just finishing the last one.

But even though he wished to share Di Yi's burden, Xia Jinhu did not want to put himself on the firing line.

His mother can be quite scary sometimes, alright!

The least he could do now was to silently cheer him on, 'You can do it!'

Suddenly, as if hearing Xia Jinhu's encouragement, Di Yi raised his head and looked at his direction. Their gazes met and at that moment, Xia Jinhu found himself lost in the other party's smile.

Xia Jinhu continued to stare at Di Yi for a whole minute before glancing back down at his half-eaten food, muttering under his breath, "It's unfair!"

Why was there such a beautiful man in this world?

"What did you say, Jinhu?" Madam Xia's voice was very light without showing any hint of displeasure.

Xia Jinhu was startled when he heard his name being called. Apparently, he had not realized that he had said his thoughts out loud.

Master Xia who had not yet spoken since the start of the meal turned to his wife, "Don't mind his gibberish, Jinqiu. He probably had just thought of another scene for his novel."

Noticing the distracted look on Xia Jinhu's face and realizing that his husband was right, Madam Xia did not bother about him any longer and just turned her attention back on Di Yi.

"As I was saying..." and the two were once again back in their own little world.

Master Xia could only give an apologetic smile towards Di Yi as he watched his wife do as she pleased.

He was clearly on his wife doting mode!

Whatever the wife wants, goes!

Not long after, small talks sparked here and there while they were eating. The four previously neglected men were fortunately included in the conversation.

The atmosphere was light and harmonius.

Even the usually stoic Xia Jiannan would put in some words once in a while.

As they were about to finish their meal, Madam Xia suddenly recalled something.

She was not able to ask his eldest son last night about his whereabouts yesterday!

After gracefully wiping her lips using the table napkin, Madam Xia gave Xia Jiannan a curious look. "Where have you been yesterday? I haven't gotten a chance to ask you last night."

Everyone turned their head towards Xia Jiannan, evidently curious about his yesterday's trip.

But despite the attention he was getting, Xia Jiannan leisurely took the last bite of his food as though he had not heard his mother's question,

He simply took his time chewing on his food, his eyes downcast.

It seemed like Xia Jiannan was not in any rush to spill the beans.

But Madam Xia was very eager to hear about the mysterious woman who had kept her son company for almost half a day!

She could not wait for it any longer!

Ever since she was made aware about the existence of the mysterious woman, Madam Xia had tried to imagine what was she like, what would their grandchildren look like and everything along those lines.

With Xia Jiannan keeping the suspense, every second that passed made Madam Xia more and more upset.

"Jinqiu..."

The wife doting Master Xia could not bear to see his beloved wife unhappy. He knew he had to do something quickly.

"Jiannan." Master Xia called out. At that, Xia Jiannan raised his head and met his father's inquisitive gaze. "Your mother is asking you who was that woman with you yesterday."

Xia Jiannan's emotionless gaze swept over his younger brother who immediately directed his eyes elsewhere.

There was no need to ask how did Madam Xia and Master Xia knew about the existence of the mysterious woman.

Even if Xia Jiannan used his toes to think, the culprit was certainly the busybody Jinhu right there.

After a few moments of silence, Xia Jiannan replied curtly, "I'll bring her here next time."

Everyone at the table was shocked when they heard Xia Jiannan's six-word response.

That, of course, included the very woman herself, Wang Rouxi.
