She was meeting her mother to talk about her new brand. Her mother was a designer too and she could tell her a thing or two about fashion brands based on her experience.

Her project was almost complete. Platinum Grand Hotel was running smoothly and although it was a little over one month old, she had changed the management and ambiance. It was very different from the Royaume Hotel that was bankrupt. It had completely been revived. Majority of the employees were retained as she didn't want people to lose their jobs overnight. She only replaced those who had already been fired and those who resigned.

Although it was still new and still lacking in the rankings, it put pressure on Lu Aotian. This hotel was meant to be a trap for their enemies but his wife actually seemed like she could do it. How many surprises was she planning to give him?

Well, he didn't know but there was one more on its way.

When she was done discussing with her mother, she called Qian Li to change the venue of their meeting. She wanted to meet in a hospital instead.

"I asked to meet in a hospital because I want you to treat me like a normal patient." She explained.

"I understand."

"I'll also follow normal procedures of meeting a doctor. That includes paying the medical fee."

"Fine." He didn't understand why she was being strange but he agreed. She was the patient, she had the say. "You're not pregnant?"

She didn't answer but he knew he was right. If she was, she wouldn't look for him. "You didn't take that pill."

"How did you know?"

"This little brother is a medical super genius. A genius of my level wouldn't create something that doesn't work."

"…"

Are all men this narcissistic? She had heard of people praising themselves using names of seniority like great father and grandfather but this was the first time hearing someone calling themselves a little brother. Geniuses were truly different.

"The one you made for Little Jia seems to work. Thank you…I don't know how to repay you."

Qian Li looked at her while in thought. You don't need to repay me. I'm the one who needs to repay you. Not only that, you also have the right to ask me for help.

"I lost my pill. Could you…would it be too much trouble if you…" her voice trailed off. She was afraid that she was being too troublesome.

Qian Li laughed. "I knew you would lose it so I made two. I brought it with me. Who would have thought that you would really need it?"

"Really?" her hope returned.

"Yes. Why don't you go for a body scan? I'll give you the pill afterwards."

Wan Jia didn't think too much and went ahead. When the results were out, Qian Li looked at it carefully. He looked at it over and over to scan for any abnormalities. He didn't believe that a healthy couple simply wouldn't get pregnant.

"Why don't you send me your last scan result when you get home?"

"I took a photo of it. Do you need it for something?"

"Let me have a look."

He left the room and used a projector in the medical lab to see the other scan clearly.

He had a dark expression when he came back. "I told you to be careful of the food you eat, it seems like someone didn't pay much attention."

"What are you talking about?" Wan Jia's heart skipped a beat.

"Your uterus is slightly thinner than it was. The difference is so tiny that it wouldn't be noticed by most gynecologists. However, if it keeps getting thinner, you will not be able to keep your child even if you get pregnant." Her opponent was quite impressive. They didn't take the route of making her unable to conceive but took this one instead. Losing something you already had was more painful that not getting it at all.

"What…" Wan Jia was startled.

"Don't worry, I found out in time. There's not much effect yet but you must be careful."

After reminding her endlessly for a while, he finally gave her the pill, which she took right away.

Qian Li watched her in amusement. "You trust me now? What if I actually wanted to hurt you?"

"I've been here for one hour. If you wanted to hurt me, I wouldn't still be alive."

Since she had come as a patient, she didn't ask her signature question. "Thanks doc, I'll take my leave now."

"If you need my help investigating, you know where to find me."

"Thanks, I hope I won't need it." She had troubled him enough to owe him a life.

When she left the hospital, she saw Lu Aotian leaning against his racecar and looking upset. The assistant beside him looked so nervous he could pee his pants. Her steps slowed down. Decisively, she pretended to not have seen him and walked towards her own car. Lu Aotian blocked her path swiftly. He took her key from her hand and threw it towards his assistant and stuffed her into his passenger seat.

He drove off without saying a single word.

"You…you're not going to scold me?" she asked after a while.

He looked at her indifferently. "Why should I?"

You already know how much you mean to me, and how hurt I would be if anything happened to you. Why should I still scold you for the decisions you adamantly made?
