Tonight, Wan Jia wasn't the only one feeling riled about her husband being mysterious.

Su Ling was feeling sad too. Forget about telling her where he and Lu Aotian were going, Lu Shaoting never told her anything about his business. Everything she knew about Lu Enterprises had been learnt from Wan Jia or by being with him. Although he didn't tell her his plans, he didn't deliberately hide anything away either.

If not, she would think that he didn't trust her.

"Did I tell you that you look very beautiful tonight?" Lu Shaoting said for the umpteenth time. Su Ling was wearing a bright red full length dress from EFW's latest release. It was a much harder color to pull off than most red colors. Surprisingly, it managed to look attractive on Su Ling, as though it was made specifically for her.

It was not shocking that Lu Shaoting kept complimenting her.

"Yeah you did. Two minutes ago, this is the seven hundredth time."

Lu Shaoting noticed the displeasure in her tone. He took her in his arms. "You're not happy?"

"If you promise to take good care of yourself, I will no longer be unhappy."

"I promise."

Although she had just expressed her displeasure, he was happy because she cared about him.

After their date, they were spending the night at his Southside Villa.

After chatting a little, Su Ling felt it was time to sleep. "I have to be at work earlier than usual tomorrow so I'm going to bed first. You should rest early too. You must have a lot to do in the next one week."

"Are you going to sleep in your room?" he asked teasingly.

"Yeah." She pretended to not notice his teasing tone.

"You should let your man protect you. What if you have nightmares?"

"I will not. Goodnight." She wanted to run off before he could tease her again.

"You're not giving me a goodnight kiss?" he sounded extremely wronged.

Since he asked for it, she rushed back to him and pecked him on the cheek. He had been prepared for this. When she was not expecting it, he pulled her to sit on his lap and kissed her lips. Only after kissing her passionately until she was out of breath did he let her go.

He laughed at her expression. She looked like she wanted to scold him but at the same time, she liked his kisses as well so she held back.

An hour later, Su Ling tossed and turned in bed. She was sleepy earlier but when she came to bed, she couldn't fall asleep no matter how hard she tried.

She counted many sheep but still couldn't fall asleep. Every time she was about to drift off, she thought she had nightmares. She didn't know what it was all about but she knew that it scared her.

Was Lu Shaoting a wizard? She blamed it on him for cursing her to have nightmares.

Well, since he was responsible, it was only right for him to take the blame as well as responsibility for his actions.

Getting out of bed, Su Ling grabbed a pillow and dragged her feet out of the room.

She stood outside Lu Shaoting's room timidly for a while. A woman going to a man's room late at night felt like an unspoken invitation. Would he get the wrong message?

She was considering going back but the door just had to open at that moment.

Lu Shaoting was shocked to see her. "You're not asleep?"

"I was going to sleep but...why aren't you asleep?" She returned a question to save herself from the awkward situation.

"I was going to get water." He answered, looking at her as though questioning what she was doing on the corridor.

Su Ling didn't need to hear his question to know what he was wondering about. Her face flushed and she changed the topic. "You're drunk."

"Not exactly. I only drank a little wine. I'm sober."

"Oh…" she wanted to use the chance to slip away.

"Did you need something?" he asked the question that made her feel self-conscious.

"Erm…no." Since she was outside his room, it would sound even more lewd to say she didn't need anything, right?

"I…I came to give you this pillow!" she unconsciously declared and stuffed the pillow into his arms.

Lu Shaoting giggled at her comic demeanor. For some inexplicable cause, the heat in his body began to rise, and he suddenly wanted her, as though he had been seduced by her.

He looked at her then realized where the problem lay. After shoving the pillow to him, she didn't know but her chest got exposed.

He really wanted to have a fight with the elderly nanny from the Lu residence. He had asked her to help him buy nightgowns for Su Ling, but what kind of nightgown was this? How was this even a nightgown? It was practically lingerie. Not only did it have a deep cut that exposed her fair breasts to him, it was also short and could only cover half of her thighs. The uncovered part was like a vortex, luring him to touch it.

Not only that, the whole garment was so thin that if he used force to take it off, it would rip apart.

Even worse was Su Ling. Why was she wearing it? Could it be that the elderly nanny had taken away all her other sleep wear and only left behind this type? Or could it be that she meant to lure him? If the latter was the reason, she had succeeded.

"What are you thinking about? Your breathing is even ragged." Although she asked, she already knew the answer from the way he was looking at her body.

She couldn't help blushing. Did she just serve herself to the beast on a silver platter?

Well, it wasn't her fault. This was the kind of nightwear that her dear boyfriend wanted her to wear.
