My Beautiful Love
Chapter 460 - Mommy said to go home
When Lu Aotian saw his younger brother's defeated expression, he more or less understood what was going on. He was torn between buying the doll for his future daughter and letting Little Jia have it...
A doll was such a little thing. In most instances, Lu Shaoting would have let Little Jia have it. After all, its price was nothing in comparison to the immense wealth in the Lu family. Not to mention, they were all in the same family.
Lu Shaoting had always been loving. He would sacrifice his whole life for Lu Aotian and Little Jia. The little girl's happiness probably meant the whole world for him. He would do anything just to see her cheerful smile. He would not feel like he had done too much even if he died for her, much less let her buy a doll.
However, since this was probably the first gift he would give his daughter, how could he let him give it up?
Lu Shaoting could have another one made for his daughter but so could he.
Before Lu Shaoting could say that the doll was meant for Little Jia and give it to her, he took Little Jia's hand. "Princess, let's complete our purchase. Daddy still needs to go to work."
Little Jia tore her gaze away from the doll. She understood what her father meant; that one had been bought for her little cousin.
She did not throw a tantrum about it because her mother had previously said that only bad kids cried over things that did not belong to them. Even if second uncle wished to give it to her instead, it should be because he wanted to, not because she cried over it.
Since daddy did not talk about it anymore, it meant that he would have another one made for her. She was still happy. Wasn't it just waiting a little? It wouldn't hurt.
She tightened her tiny hand onto her father's and let him lead her away. "Bye second uncle, bye second aunty."
Lu Shaoting gave his brother a suestioning gaze. What was that about?
Lu Aotian's gaze seemed to answer him, it was too soon for cousins to start taking things from each other. What would happen in future when they wanted the same things?
When Lu Aotian and Little Jia were out of sight, Su Ling's heart was still aching. Little Jia was too sensible for her age. It was probably thanks to Lu Aotian's strictness.
One would find it weird. Lu Aotian was the one who doted on the little girl the most and spoiled her endlessly, but he also wouldn't let her become selfish and ill-mannered.
If she were that young herself, she would have cried over the doll without caring that it belonged to someone else.

Up ahead, Lu Aotian finished paying and took the bag of new toys in one hand, holding Little Jia's tiny hand with another.
"Daddy, carry. Little Jia is tired." Little Jia stuck out her arms and stood still, waiting to be carried by him.
Lu Aotian took his daughter up in his arms with ease.
As soon as she was in his arms, his frown deepened.
It was one thing for Little Jia to get tired more frequently. He understood that it was because she was a child and had been playing a lot lately.
In fact, he knew his own daughter well enough to be able to tell that she was not actually tired. Perhaps she only missed the feeling of being carried in her father's arms.
But, why was she losing weight?
When he lifted her up, she was a mittle lighter than she was the last time he carried her. That was a few days ago.
In the past few days, Little Jia would strongly avoid being carried in the name of being a big girl and a sister.
He had not thought much about it, since one could not possibly forcefummy carry a child, so he had not realized that she had lost weight.
The difference was in fact so slight that if he had not been paying close attention to his daughter's health, he would not have realized it.
"Daddy, is something wrong?" The little girl was sensitive to her father's mood and knew when it changed in the slightest. "Is Little Jia too heavy so Daddy is tired? Don't worry, Little Jia can still walk a little.'"
Lu Aotian chuckled. She was only four. How heavy could she be?
"Princess, let's go to the hospital first, okay?"
Little Jia hugged his neck tightly. "But Daddy has to go back to work right now. It is very late."
"That's okay. I can go to work later.
Little Jia peered over his shoulder and realized that they were approaching the car. "Daddy, mommy said to go back home this afternoon. Miss Gaudy will teach me to add numbers."
Lu Aotian chuckled. "I will tell miss Gaudy to wait for a few minutes."
Miss Gaudy was her home-schooling teacher.
Although what she said about Lu Aotian having to go back to work and herself having to go back home to learn adding numbers, she only remembered it because her father mentioned the hospital.
She was so scared of needles that every time the word hospital was mentioned, she would cower in fright.
Lu Aotian chuckled at how his little princess held his neck tightly and hud her face, as though trying to seek his protection against something.
He knew his daughter well enough to udnerstand her train of thought.
"The doctor will only check your condition." He rubbed her small back and got into the car with her.
"Will they pierce me?"
"Daddy will protect you, mmh?" He sat her on his lap and kissed her forehead to coax her.
