"Will you be my girlfriend?"

I sighed in relief. Oh thank god. I really thought.... Whew!

I pulled him up and smacked his shoulders. "What the hell are you talking about? We have been kissing and making out now, and you thought we're not a legit couple? You scared the hell out of me." I glared at him furiously.

He sheepishly asked, "Are you mad?"

"No. I'm freaking furious! Do you know how pressured I am? I never wanted to hurt you, and then you were abruptly giving me a choice that could potentially hurt you. Are you out of your mind?"

He walked near me, only to be thwarted by my glare. "Don't you dare come near me. I'm spewing fire at you at the moment."

He sighed. "Look, I'm sorry that you felt that way. I just wanted to make it sweeter to you. You know, let you always know I'm your boyfriend. I wanted to ask you again, but in a sweeter and romantic manner this time."

My anger deflated a bit. "Don't do that again."

"Yes. I'm sorry."

He hesitated walking towards me, as if waiting for my rejection. I just nod at him, indicating it's okay now.

He held my face and kissed the tip of my nose. "I'm really, really sorry Cassidy. I didn't mean to make you mad."

"Yeah yeah. Better be thankful that I don't stay mad forever."

"Yeah." He chuckled nervously. "So, uh, how was the surprise?"

I acted thinking a bit, and looked at him dead in the eye, "Lame."

He stared at me, tongue-tied. I laughed at his hilarious expression. "It could have been sweet, but that proposal stunt is waaaaay too early. It's a bit scary."

He laughed. "Yeah. I guess, I really didn't think it through. Well... "

And then I remembered the cake. "Okay! Before we eat, I also have something to give to you too!"

"What is it? Is it a worm?"

"What? You afraid of worms?"

"Eeehh, sort of."

"Oh my god! You? Worms? Hahahaha gives me too much thought of putting it in your bag. Hahaha sweet revenge!"

"Cassidy! Please! You can do anything to me, just don't prank me with worms."

I sauntered to him, held his chin and dragged my nails from the cheeks down to his neck. "Hmmmm, anything?"

His Adam's apple bobbed up and down. I smiled seductively. "Come on now baby. You promised me you would do anything. Or do you like the worms more?"

"No no no! Okay okay! Promise. I'd do anything you want."

"Good." I turned around and said to him, "Now for my surprise, I require you to wait here while I retrieve it. No peeking! Or else, you would find some scriggley-wiggley little creatures in your pants tomorrow."

I raised my eyebrows at him, waiting for an answer.

But what if he still peeks? How would I know he would do that?

"On second thought... "

I put a blindfold on him and dragged him to the kitchen.

"Cassidy, is this really necessary?"

"Yes it is. This is a surprise in the first place."

"Well, I promise I won't peek."

"I'm making sure you won't see me putting worms on your legs."

"Cassidy!"

"Okay okay. That was a joke okay? Now, be a good boy. I'll be right back."

I opened the fridge silently. The cake was well hidden behind containers of some of our cooked dishes. I got it out carefully and placed it on the table. I looked at my cake.

I made a chocolate base and then for the icing, just a minimal layer because I really don't like too much icing on cake. I placed first a chocolate icing and then I drew a heart at the top. Inside the heart, I wrote 'To more Christmases with YOU :-*'. And then I added some little hearts and flowers outside.

Well, it looks presentable but I hope this tastes good.

I held the cake and went to where Minho was sitting.

"Okay, baby. You can remove the blindfold now."

As soon as he opened his eyes, I literally saw his jaw drop. He was there slack-jawed, and I was standing in front of him, anxiously waiting for his reaction.

"Y-you.. You made this?" he stammered.

"Well, yeah. Good thing I didn't waste the last ingredients for the cake."

"But I thought you wasted the last ingredients?"

I winked at him.

"Oh you little devil! I almost pitied you!"

"Haha. So, do you like my surprise?"

"Of course. Yes. Wow. You pulled it off. Wow baby. This is so amazing!"

He swiftly grabbed the cake, placed it on the table and hugged me.

"Cassidy. Thank you! You don't know how proud and happy I am that I have you with me."

"Well, some things might change if you taste it. So, go have a bite."

He released me from the hug and laughed. "However it tastes, I'll still love you. No matter, this is a huge progress! You could perfect it in no time."

"Yeah, enough sweet talks. Go now."

I gave him a saucer and a fork. I sliced him a portion.

I watched him eat the cake, nervously waiting for a violent or pleasant reaction.

He remained quiet for a time, making me impatient. "So? How is it?"

Instead of answering me, he took another bite. I stared at him, wide-eyed. What the?

"Hey, Minho. How is it?"

"Hmmmm."

"What hmmm? Quick! Tell me! Is it good? Or bad?"

"Honestly, it's not very sweet, but I like this kind of flavor. Just the right balance of taste. You've outdone yourself Cassidy!"

"Really? You're not lying, right?"

"No! Really! It is really delicious. Come on, take a bite."

And he fed me a slice.

What assaulted me was paradise. This is the best cake I have ever tasted! Not too sweet, too salty, too bitter. Just the right touch. Did I really make this? How did I do it?

"See? You are talented Cass. It just needs some enhancement, development and practice and you'd become a renowned pastry chef some day!"

"Well that is a stretch, but wow!"

We spent the rest of the night taste testing our cooked dishes. Sometimes bickering, a lot of making out, and then eating again.

I really, really want this feeling, this happiness.

I hope this lasts.
