My Goalkeeping System

Chapter 166 Dave's Scheme

'I guess this intense Focus Training is the only thing that I'm going to be doing until I master it.' Dave said subconsciously after opening his eyes.

<You've got that right>

The goalkeeper slowly turned his gaze to Emma who was peacefully sleeping beside him with her right hand on his body.

"Well, today's the day." He muttered before he slowly removed her hand from his body and sat up on the bed.

He checked the time to see that it was 6:14 AM, after that, he quickly slid his legs into his running boots and made his way downstairs.

Now that the hill was part of his daily training exercise, his morning run now lasted for one hour or more.

After an hour and some minutes, he came back home and opened the door to catch a mouth-watering aroma in the air.

"Something smells nice." The goalkeeper said as he made his way to the kitchen.

"You're back," Emma said before turning to face him. "Good morning."

"Good morning," Dave said before walking closer to her. "So, you're making special dishes because Clark is coming over today."

"Yeah, special dishes for special guests." She said. "He said he was going to be here early so, I have no time to waste."

"Yeah, what about Emilia? Did she tell you when she was going to show up?"

"Probably before noon." She said before turning her attention back to what she was doing. "If you're not going to help me out then leave the kitchen, I don't like the way you're just standing there."

"Okay, ma."

He slowly turned her face around to kiss her before he made his way out of the kitchen.

With the clock showing 7:30 AM, he made his way to his gym to get a few things done and after about three hours in there, he made his way out to catch some fresh air.

<I would have been glad if you had really used all three hours in there to do something useful>

'What's the matter? I still did something useful, didn't I?'

Just as he was about to start heading toward the door, he heard an engine roar and it didn't take long before a minivan entered the area and parked right in front of him.

The first person to come down from the van was someone he had expected to show up any time soon and he just did.

"Hey," Clark said with a smile on his face before he made his way to the goalkeeper and engaged him in a brotherly hug. "How're you doing?"
"I'm okay," Dave said.

They were only two items in the van so all the van driver had to do was drop them on the floor before quickly zooming off.

"Are those the items?" The goalkeeper asked.

It was easy to tell which one was the blaster and which one was the play station even though they were both well packaged.

"Yeah," Clark said with a nod. "Do you want to test the blaster out now and see how much of an upgrade it is?"

"I want to test it out alright but it can't be now, I'm tired and hungry." He said.

"Okay, well then let's go inside so that you can eat something, I'm sure Emma must have made something."

The two got inside to find out that Emma had already set up the table and all that was left were the dishes and the food.

Dave was surprised to find out that she had even gotten dressed in something nice, she had done everything she had to do and cleaned up while he was in his gym.

"Clark." She said with an excited voice and quickly made her way to him as soon as she spotted him.

"How're you doing?" Clark asked after pulling out from the hug.

"I'm fine and you?"

"I'm good." He said with a nod. "I see you decided to give me that warm welcome I asked for, Dave."

"It's the least I could do," Dave said.

"Yeah, and now the least you can do for yourself is go upstairs and get yourself cleaned up before she shows up here.

"She? You mean the one you told me about?" Clark said with his gaze on Dave.

"I know but I'm really hungry," Dave said, ignoring his question.

"Go take a shower first." She insisted.

He was about to make a move when someone suddenly knocked on the door thrice.

"I'll get it," Clark said before turning his gaze to the door, he was the one closest to the door so it had to be him.

He opened the door to see someone who looked exactly like Emma, Emilia was putting on a red long-sleeved dress which seemed to be a little short for her, she had a pair of red boots to go with the dress and her hair was clipped back with a red clip.

"Emma?" Clark muttered with a confused expression on his face before turning his gaze back to Emma to see that she was still there. "No, that's Emma, what's going on, Dave?"

"Hi," Emilia said with the friendly smile she always had on her face.

"Are you Emma's twin sister?" Clark asked and he didn't even wait for her reply before he turned his gaze back to Emma. "How come you never told me that you had a twin sister? I thought Mateo was your only sibling."

"Mateo is my only sibling," Emma said.

"Then who is this?"

"My friend."

"Your friend?"

"Yeah, this is my friend Emilia, Emilia this is Clark."

"Hi, nice to meet you," Emilia said before offering her hand for a handshake.

Clark stared at her for a while before accepting her handshake as he was still trying to make sense of what was happening in his mind.

"You two look just like twins and yet you're not related in any way?"

"Yeah," Emilia said, shaking her head.

"That's right," Emma said.

"This has to be among the top three of the craziest things I've seen this year." He said.

"How many crazy things have you seen this year?" Emma asked.

"I don't think you want to know."

Before they could eat the meal Emma had prepared, Dave had to be there and right now, he was still upstairs cleaning up.

Clark had gone to check up on him to find out that he was still in the bathroom, he couldn't really talk to him while he was in the bathroom as he wouldn't hear him clearly so he decided to head downstairs.

On his way downstairs he stopped midway on the staircase to watch Emma and Emilia who were having a conversation in the living room now.

'If I had seen her anywhere before, the only person that would pop into my mind would be Emma but now that I know that they are two different people with no blood ties at all which I still find hard to believe, the red hair will do in differentiating them unless she decides to dye her hair black or Emma decides to dye her hair red.' He had a lot of thoughts running through his mind. 'Just what are you scheming, Dave?'
