My Last Hunt

Chapter 38: Headstrong Level One Chaser (10)

Headstrong Level One Chaser (part 10)

The chaser looked at both of them leaving the place and felt dumbfounded.

The chaser felt a strange sense of frustration. In his eyes, he felt that every action that this guy did made him want to die.

It was really killing him. He even forgot to thank him for the favor he did just now.

On the other, Qiao don't want to bother about it. He did not save the guy because he wanted to make him owe any favor. It was better for him to ignore this person from now on and maintain his attitude of a headstrong person.

After that he continued to walk around the area without a destination in mind. He did not realize he was walking without any aim in silence when a voice interrupted him.

"Brother, are you looking for something?" Linwin asked him when he saw that there was no one around now.

Only then did Qiao remembered again that he was not walking alone.

He closed his eyes as he also felt that he had been walking in solitude and it was then that he felt it. He was missing his younger brother. A week had passed by since the incident and now after all the struggle when he had time to breathe without any fear, he could not help but miss him.

He had seen a lot in this passing week, experienced a lot. He was even able to reach level on quite fast. And now he could not help but think how was his brother doing? Where was he right now? How long more would it take for him to become stronger?

The more he thought about it, further he was concerned.

"I was thinking about how beneficial it is actually to hunt in a small team." Qiao spoke up aloud.

Since he was worried that it would take a longer time for him to level up, he was thinking to hunt alone. Without having to take missions from the Guild.

"Ah, brother you want to hunt singlehandedly?" Linwin gasped with shock filling his eyes.

To hunt a monster was not some easy job. If the monster went on a rampage, it could easily kill the whole team and this brother was asking whether singlehandedly a chaser could hunt a monster.

Qiao smiled bitterly.

He himself was well aware now that singlehanded hunting was currently impossible.

In the hunt today, the final attack gave him a hundred experience points. If he remained consistent at this rate of hunting or if he was able to do two hunts in a day with a team, he might be able to improve his pace. But there was another problem too. Only trying to gain points to level up was not optimistic as he also needed a good weapon.

Which meant he needed to get a better weapon at every level which was another headache. Good weapons were expensive and the spoils were shared with the team making it difficult for a chaser to buy a weapon at every level.

Because of this, he was thinking to separately hunt other than just the team hunts. He planned to lurk around to see if some team was in a difficult situation and join them for spoils and to help too, this way he would be able to practice his skill better way.

"Brother I am not a level one chaser yet else I might have helped you. But you can look for random hunts here by lurking in this specific part of the forest. Many teams are given mission and many also need capable members" Linwin spoke sincerely.

"I am also thinking in a similar way, but it would also make more troubles come my way. Chasers would not always react nicely when someone extends a helping hand and might even think I am stealing their hunt. I can't allow this to happen as I don't have much time to bother with grudges and reckless chasers," he shrugged his shoulders.

His focus was to level up as soon as possible and bear all the hurdles that were going to come his way.

This place was not his destination, he was only sent here to level up and sure enough later he would kill the wicked hunter after reaching level nine.

But even now, when he needed to find a method to increase his pace of leveling up, he could not solve it straight away. The hurdles that will block his path further would definitely be more difficult.

"Linwin, I will ask you to follow me. Are you willing to take the risk along me and level up?" Qiao seriously asked.

Linwin observed the young man in front of him, who was at the same age as him. He could tell from the determination in his eyes that he already had a goal for himself. It was clear that his will was set to reach the destination that he eyed and following such a person would never be a loss. He felt this was a turning point for himself and so he answered in a strong voice.

"Brother, you were the one who saved my life. Even if you were to ask for my life, I would follow you." Linwin patted his chest and spoke.

Qiao was moved by these words, but of course he was not going to take his life.

"Why not you let us take your life instead?"

Suddenly another voice interrupted them. Qiao and Linwin heard this voice and turned around.

A group of people walked out with arrogant expressions. Linwin was in their team before he joined his present team. They had earlier left him dying after several injuries and Qiao then was fuming with rage when he saw them laughing and chatting instead of asking the Guild to cure the newbie.

Linwin saw them but instead ignored.

"You were the one glaring us in the Guild hall, isn't that right?" the man pointed toward Qiao. He happened to glance when Qiao was looking in their direction and his eyes were showering in rage.

"That matter was long before. There is no need for you to bother about it," Qiao was not willing to start a quarrel because it would only bring trouble for both Qiao and Linwin.

They were here probably on their way back after the hunt and probably they spotted them both and came to make trouble. They might not even bother arguing and might start attacking if they said anything.

Linwin wanted to settle the grudge but he was too weak to start a quarrel, not even on an equal level to face them.

"You both newbies are a sore in my eye. I Don't feel like allowing you to live. Today let me show you what a miserable death someone who does not know their place deserves. You have really forgotten how to beg on your knees I feel," one of them gritted his teeth slowly uttered this.

"But even if you beg now its too late" he laughed then.

These people felt pissed lately as due to the emergence of these newbies, right now other newbies too had become braver. They no longer begged and licked their sole for a chance to attack the monster which made them feel disrespected.
