My OP Minion System in the Apocalypse

I pulled myself up as I leaned up against the side of the hut.

Ah, that was tiring.

I managed to craft two more [Advance Farm Beds] with the wood that I managed to hurriedly collect before it got too dark. I now had all of my Farm beds lined up in rows, filling most of the camp. The farm beds definitely took up the majority of the space, covering the area like miniature urban sprawl.

My Minion Manager made its way to me.

It seemed that I gathered slightly more resources than the previous day.

Instead of crafting more [Advanced Farm Beds], I decided to just keep all of the resources in my inventory, for the time being, it would be safe to keep at least some on hand in case I needed to craft something urgently.

As I looked out towards the forest, I noticed that there were hardly any zombies. It was already quite dark and usually, the zombies would be coming in droves at this time but for some reason, the forest was mostly empty. I had all of my Minions on the lookout but there was hardly any combat at all.

A few zombies made their way onto my settlement but they were swiftly executed by my Minions. Instead of littering the ground as usual, there was only a very scarce spread of zombie corpses. As I watched the night unfold, I decided that I didn't need to stay and watch out. It was likely due to the fact that Killer Winter starts tomorrow so the last day is pretty easy in terms of zombie density.

I slowly made my way into my hut and took a seat on my bed.

Ah, I really need a rest.

Before I decided to go to sleep, I wanted to check everything again.

First, I opened my inventory.

I had a decent amount of gems which I could use to craft various things or sell for Tokens if it were really necessary. In the past, I had planned to craft a Power Flux but from the looks of things, I'm going to have to postpone that. I didn't want to commit too many resources before I completely understand the gravity of the situation.

I had all the random items I purchased from the wandering trader. I regret it now in hindsight since I might have been able to better use the Tokens but I didn't know about Killer Winter at that time so I didn't really realise the need to save Tokens. The items might be useful to some degree so I might look further into them tomorrow.

I still didn't know what the Enhancement Agents were for. From what I could tell, they definitely boosted a person's physical attributes but I had no idea how to use or equip them so for the time being they were practically useless.

I was somewhat lacking in this department but I would be able to convert wheat into the necessary resources when the time is right.

At the moment, after observing all of my resources, I definitely had enough stored up to last me a decent amount of time. It was just that I lacked information on how difficult Killer Winter was really going to be. I assumed that I was going to be highly dependent on the Grand Exchange since I won't be able to freely send my Minions on expeditions without putting them at high risk.

Finally, I wanted to check just how many Minions I had. Organisation and resource allocation was going to be crucial to survive this Killer Winter so I needed to keep track of everything I had.

There was a very high chance that my Minion production was going to be quite stagnated. As a result, I needed to use the Minions I did have to the highest effect. The best thing I could do at the moment was to continue to train my Scout Minions since if I couldn't produce more, I'd simply train them to get better.

It was especially important for my combat-based Minions since they were going to be practically useless during the daytime if they can't go on expeditions. I wanted to make each individual Minion as strong as possible so I didn't have to rely so heavily on numbers. I needed to minimise my losses as much as possible since it would be incredibly difficult for me to replace lost Minions.

After looking through everything I had, I finally decided to lie down on the soft bed. My entire body was sore, my arms were as stiff as logs and my brain was tired. Let's hope that all the preparations I've made are enough. I didn't have a great deal of time but if everything goes well, I should be able to survive.

I decided to have a quick look at the Global Rankings since I was curious, I hadn't checked it in a while, especially now that Callum was dead.

It seemed that lots of people have also stagnated due to the leadup to Killer Winter. I worried that I might have dropped ranks after sustaining so many losses but I guess I was still climbing.

After that, I laid my head down on the bed and closed my eyes.
