Distance

I had my library duty but I was in no state to attend. Mom always says my face reflects my hidden feelings which I buried deep inside and I knew at that time if I went to Jake he would ask me questions. I wasn't ready to answer.

It was raining. I came to my locker to fetch my umbrella. I was trembling. I was frustrated in anger. How could someone say that to me. What just happened....

Maybe....maybe I was at fault. It was a wrong decision to ask Rex. I shouldn't be hurt like this either. This is not the first time I'm abused. The person I trusted the most betrayed me before. Rex I only know him for a few days. He's a nobody.....nobody.....

I shut the locker with all the force I had. It was childish of me and it also made a loud noise. There was a group of boys standing a little far away beside the gate. I think I caught their attention by this childish act of mine. I saw one of them coming in my direction. I was in no position to explain so I kept facing downwards and started walking in the other direction.

"Bella!!!HEYYY STOP!!"

The boy's voice sounded familiar.

"Bella!Stop please!"

He ran and caught up with me and gave me a shaking. I was surprised to see it was Josh.

"Josh!! God it was you! You scared me!"

I tried to sound like I was fine. But great my tears didn't listen to me and started falling.

"Oh man!Damn did I really scare you that much?Why are you crying?" He was at loss what to say.

"No! No!I'm fine!" I assured him it wasn't him who made me cry. Josh patted his head in disbelief.

"Yes if u say so bells! Now umm... You going anywhere?" He asked in hesitation.

"No just going home! Why?"

"Oh you going home! Lemme drop you off then."

"No I'll take the bus.Don't worry.Go hang out with your friends."

"Nah I was with them the whole practice. I'll drop you at your home. It will be my pleasure."

I knew I wouldn't win a fight with him....

"Thank you very much Josh. Means a lot," I forced a smile.

"Bells!"

I found myself in a warm big hug. Josh hugged me many times after we became friends but this time it felt different. It felt like his body was tensed up and he was serious.

"J..Josh!" I said like a whisper. I was surprised too.

"Oh yeah! Wait a second! I'll get my car!" He said letting me go of the hug and ran to get his car blushing.

I laughed at his cuteness. I heard boys can blush too but this time I really saw it.

Suddenly my phone beeped. It was a text from someone probably. I took out my phone to check.

It was from Helena's number, saying,

:Hey there!Let's play a game shall we? :)

I texted her back,

' Ele whr r u and what game ???'

It was surprising. Helena never texted me, she always called and it was weird for her to text me this.Why will she text me this.

I heard someone honking. I looked up and saw Josh was already at the gate waiting for me with his car. I waved at him and went running to get in. It was raining so he was already drenched.

" You could have taken my umbrella stupid now you are all wet!" I said getting in the front seat beside him.

"Hehehe !No problem! I'm used to rain. Sometimes it rains while practice too," He said innocently.

I laughed a little.
