Chapter 483 Learning How to have fun (part 2)

“Why the stoic expression?” Camilla asked as the waiter left the table.

“Because I don’t feel safe in public, anything could happen at any time. Also, I generally don’t like being around humans they disgust me.” Blake said causing Camilla to chuckle.

“Then why don’t you have the same expression when you are in the cafeteria?” Camilla asked.

“In the cafeteria, the fact that the food is free helps me ignore everyone else. As for security, it is only someone with a death wish that would attack or even attempt to cause trouble close to the square let alone at the square itself.” Blake said.

“You know I would like to see you loosen up and smile more or at least change your stoic default expression, especially at work because you are chasing everyone away.” Camilla said.

“That has always been the plan because the more you smile with people the more they take you for granted.” Blake said as the waiter arrived with 2 glasses and a bottle of wine.

“Besides I don’t need new friends because you guys are already more than enough.” Blake said with a smile causing Camilla’s heart to melt.

Shortly after the wine, the food finally arrived, and without wasting time they both dived in, but that was when Blake noticed Camilla wasn’t enjoying the food.

“What’s wrong with the food?” Blake couldn’t help but ask because they ordered the same food and so far, it was delicious.

……

“There is nothing wrong with the food, especially the meat, it’s just that I would prefer a different kind of meat in my mouth.” Camilla said with a seductive smile causing Blake to almost choke.

“You got me there.” Blake said as he finally recovered causing Camilla to let out a low laugh.

“Did you choose to eat here just to say that line?” Blake asked.

“Maybe…” Camilla said with a smirk that made Blake facepalm.

After 30 minutes of chatting and eating, they were done with their food and it was now time to pay the bills.

“That would be 22 silver coins.” The waiter said as he gave the bill to Blake.

“Don’t worry I will pay the bill.” Carmilla said before taking out her golden card.

“Are you sure because I can handle it?” Blake asked receiving a nod of confirmation from Camilla and a poorly hidden disappointed look from the waiter.

The waiter was disappointed at Blake’s lack of gentlemanliness because he should have strongly insisted but he didn’t.

Unknown to him Blake had noticed the disappointed look, but he didn’t even come close to giving a sh*t about his feelings.

“You said something about investigating the beast tide.” Camilla asked as they left the Ace of Steak.

“Yes.” Blake replied.

“Why are you so invested in it?” Camilla asked.

“Don’t know but I have a hunch that something is off about the beast tide.” Blake said as they approached the sidewalk.

“Everyone feels the same, that is why investigations are still going on for centuries now.” Camilla said while she leaned on Blake as they waited for a carriage.

“My hunch is beyond that. For example, why were the beasts so united during the expansion of the city walls when the beast tide ended months ago?’ Blake asked.

Just like humans, beasts fought themselves for resources and territory. So, it was extremely rare to see different beasts working together, let alone hundreds of them.

As for the black tortoise being the cause of the unity, it even raised more questions because it was only a high-level emperor ranked beast that could dream of commanding so many beasts.

“You have a point. So, what leads do you have?” Camilla asked when she realized she had no answer for it.

“I got some data today, all that is left is for me to study them and piece things together.” Blake said.

“See you tomorrow.” Camilla kissed Blake as a carriage finally arrived.

“Thanks for the dinner.” Blake said as he waved goodbye.

Camilla boarded the carriage and headed for the central region, while Blake waited for another carriage that took him to his house.

When he got home, Blake began taking out all the reports and data he had collected from the ash corps database.

He had not only collected info related to the beast tide but also info concerning other parts of the empire and Infinite realm at large.

“Who the fuck is calling me at this ungodly hour.” Blake cursed as he picked up his communication amulet and saw it was Camilla.

“Thought you would be awake by this time.” Camilla asked after seeing Blake’s eyes.

“I was up all night reading.” Blake said as he rubbed his eyes.

“So, I am officially free, what’s your address?” Camilla asked.

“Oh, forgot about that.” Blake told her his address and immediately began his daily workout.

Just 15 minutes after the call with Camilla, his doorbell rang causing him to stop his push-ups and rush downstairs.

“How did you get here so soon?” Blake couldn’t help but ask because the distance between the Karius estate and his house was at least a 25-minute drive.

“I was already out of the central region when I called.” Camilla said as she couldn’t stop staring at Blake’s sweaty muscular body.

“Oh…” Blake said as he leaned in for a kiss.

“You never told me you live in such a beautiful place. It’s so different from anything I have seen.” Camilla said as she was captivated by the interior design.

“Did you customize your house?” Camilla couldn’t help but ask as she walked through the double sliding door that led to the kitchen and saw the full glass door that led to the yard and also brought ample natural lightning into the kitchen.

“Yes…” Blake replied.

“You are really making me consider having a place of mine.” Camilla said as she walked up to the full glass door.

“How much does it cost to rent a place like this?” Camilla asked.

“I don’t know…” Blake replied leaving her confused.
