My Wife Is A Secret Assassin

Excalibur had a bad feeling about it, he pushed everyone aside and stood at the entrance of his mom's room, only to receive the shock of his life.

His mom was pinned on the wall next to her bed, she was pinned in a way that her body formed the shape X, with her two hands risen above on her either side were pinned too. Her legs two were parted as far as they could extend and were pinned to the wall. With her legs a few feet above the ground.

The worst part was, Excalibur's mother was still alive, and was in her last breath.

Excalibur, took slow steps towards his mother who was looking at him, her eyes begging him to save her from this pain.

When he stood closer to his mother, he noticed she had many cuts on her body, slight amount of blood was oozing out from everywhere. It was a scary sight as he could understand how much every cut must be paining the old woman. 

The parts where her hands and legs were pinned, was the most dreadful as high amount of blood could be seen there. A part of her palm was all red, covered in blood that oozed out of her palm.

On stepping closer, Excalibur noticed there was a playing card on his mother's neck, the more closely he observed it, the more painful it was, his eyebrows furrowed in shock.

The playing card was used as a murder weapon to cut his mother's throat, but the one behind this was so cruel that they didn't slit his mother's throat with the card completely but did it in a way that the card would slit her throat but his mother won't die as the card was stuck on her throat stopping the blood from flowing out.

The card was placed in a way that he could look at its edges.

That was the reason why his mother was still alive. This killer didn't kill her but left her hanging between life and death.

His mother was crying and was still begging him with her eyes to help her but only he knew there was no way of she making it alive.

To get her treated this card needs to be removed from her neck and once the card is removed, the blood will flow out, killing the old woman within seconds.

If he doesn't remove the card, then his mother will keep suffering in pain like this.

Excalibur had tears in his eyes, he never thought his mother would ever end up in a situation like this and he would live to see a day like this.

His mom was softly wailing, still begging him with her eyes to help her as she couldn't speak due to the slit in her throat.

Not being able to see his mother's pain anymore, with a heavy heart, Excalibur tightly closed his eyes and pulled the playing card which was stopping the blood from flowing out.

As soon as he pulled that card out, the blood oozed out from the old woman's throat, like a small waterfall.

The crowd standing behind gasped in surprise at the view in front of them. Some people who couldn't take this sight anymore, closed their eyes or left from there.

The staff working there wanted to step forward and help Excalibur as they all could see how shocked he was but they were scared as it was their responsibility to take care of his mother and every month, he pays them 40,000$ to take care of her. 

Yet, they failed at taking care of her, they were scared what he would do to them and were even more scared of the possibility of a lawsuit.

Excalibur opened his eyes and looked at his mother, who was now dead. Seeing her pinned on the wall, dead, he couldn't take it anymore and fell on his knees, crying hard.

He tightly clutched on the playing card which killed his mother, and continued crying for a while.

"Sir, should we get her body down, the cops are here?" One of the staff members patted on Excalibur's shoulder.

"Cops need not be involved" Excalibur informed the staff member.

"But sir, they are already here" 

"Ask them to leave"

"But sir…"

"ASK THEM TO LEAVE" Excalibur shouted at the staff member.

The cops standing behind him heard it.

"That's not how it works sir, your mother has clearly been murderer, we have to investigate this case" One of the cops stepped forward and explained the law to Excalibur who scoffed at them.

He stood up and faced the cop with his red tearful eyes, "You don't have to teach me the law. She is my mother and if I choose not to file a case against the person who murdered her then there is no need for you to do any investigation"

"That's not how it…"

"LEAVE"

"We have to take the body with us" The cop didn't leave.

"Do whatever you want to do" Excalibur left from the care home, clutching on the playing card.

Before leaving, he warned the staff that he would kill them all and sat in his car. He shouted in frustration and crumbled the playing card but while doing that he noticed something was written on the card.

When he opened the card again, he noticed it was an 'Ace of Spades' card, and a note was written on the bottom of it.

[You shouldn't have killed her]

Excalibur tried to think who is the 'her' mentioned in this note. Was this note referring to his mother or someone else? As his mom ultimately, died in his hands. 

After thinking for a while, he recollected Sarah and he frowned in shock. 

She was his only kill, which can be avenged. He knew he might die one day, because of what he did to her but never expected his mother to face the wrath.

'Exterminator' He mumbled to himself as that was the only conclusion he arrived at.

Exterminator was known for killing people with basic, house items. So, it was highly feasible for the Exterminator to kill his mother using this Ace card.

Excalibur clenched his fists tightly in frustration and headed to his home.

He drove his car in full speed not caring about anything else, as right now he had to complete the revenge which he left mid-way years back.

In the past, when he found out about Sarah, The Exterminator's wife, he changed his revenge plan.

Initially he intended to kill The Exterminator but he later decided to kill his wife instead as she was a much easier target.

He was sure that man would get truly hurt if he loses his wife. So, he changed his plan the last minute and killed Sarah.

After that, he left from there as he had to go underground to protect himself so he didn't kill The Exterminator. He hoped The Exterminator would commit suicide after losing his wife but that was not the case.

After all these years, his ninety-two years old mother was killed brutally.

'What did she do to you that you killed her so brutally, you bastard' Excalibur pressed on the car accelerator increasing the speed of his car as he had no idea where to take out his frustration.

After reaching his home Excalibur entered his study and moved a book shelf with full force, and there was a secret door behind it.

Excalibur opened that door and stepped inside. He searched for a storage box he kept safely and when he found the box with the name – Miller written on it, he grabbed that box and stepped inside his study room.

He went through the contents of this box and he finally found what he was looking for.

There was a card with a contact number on it. Excalibur was not sure if this number was still active or not but he had to check it.

Without wasting another second, he called the number and a lady answered the phone.

"I want information on The Exterminator" Excalibur directly told the woman without wasting time in pleasantries.

That woman got confused and asked, "I am sorry, who are you?"

"Excalibur. I'll call again in 24 hours, I want all the information on The Exterminator" After saying this much, Excalibur cut the call and didn't wait for her response.

The woman was surprised to know Excalibur called her. Few weeks ago, their main boss asked them to find the information on Excalibur and they were not able to. 

But now, Excalibur himself called them so she had to inform their other boss, David. Although he doesn't work here anymore, he is the only one she can contact as he too was involved with their boss in finding Excalibur.

The woman called David and informed him of the call she received.

David was shocked when he got this information as he assumed Samantha and Bill would have had killed Excalibur by now.

In hurry he called Chance.
