'Fuck, why am I acting like a pervert? He is igniting all these foreign feelings in me. I really hope these thirty days passes away quickly' She wanted to get done with all of this.

Chance was forcing her to go against everything that she hoped and planned for. Samantha went to sleep with her mind completely occupied by Chance.

On the other hand, Chance was glad he got an opportunity to explain himself to Samantha.

After he had a bath, he too went to sleep but unexpectedly he saw a missed call from David.

It was around 1 am right now, which meant it was 4 am in New York, he wondered why David was calling him so early in the morning.

Chance called him back and David immediately answered his phone.

"What happened?" Chance asked him.

"You know anyone named Bill?" David asked him.

"Hmm, The Exterminator's fake name is Bill" Chance informed David.

David was someone Chance trusted the most, so he didn't have to think twice before sharing the truth or anything with him.

"Dude, he is digging information on you" David informed Chance.

"Which me?"

Chance's question was clear, Bill is trying to know more about Chance or Grim Reaper.

"Chance Miller" David said.

Chance laughed after knowing this.

"Dude, why are you laughing? How the fuck can you laugh? You know how scared I am right now?" David got annoyed when he heard Chance laughing when he expected him to panic.

"Dude, yesterday I had lunch with him…"

"Whattttt??? You had lunch with The Exterminator?" David shouted on the phone; his tone had a tinge of jealousy.

Chance chuckled, "Yes and he ate food cooked by me. He loved it a lot, he couldn't stop praising me" Chance proudly shared.

"Dude, don't make me feel more jealous than I already am." David complained.

"Sorry, but when you will come to San Diego this Friday, I'll find a way for you to meet him" Chance promised.

"What? Really?" David excitedly asked him.

"Of course, I'll try my best"

"I want to have lunch or dinner with him" David demanded and Chance rolled his eyes.

"Dude, I can't make a specific promise, I am also not sure if it is possible or not"

"Okay sorry, just introduce me, that's enough" David requested him.

"Yeah, don't worry I will" Chance decided to come up with something to introduce them to each other as just like him, David too was a big fan of The Exterminator.

"Thanks man"

"No problem dude"

"But why is he digging more information on you?" David came to the main point of discussion.

"Actually, I met him yesterday…"

Then Chance told him in short of the interaction he had with Bill and Samantha.

"Fuck dude, The Exterminator seems like he is fine with having you as his son-in-law"

"Yes, he was very happy"

"Fuck, you are so lucky dude. Danger-Ace is going to be your wife and The Exterminator is going to be your father-in-law" David exclaimed.

"You sound jealous" Chance teased David.

"Of course, I am jealous" David complained pouting.

"Hey don't you dare have hots for my woman, Samantha is only mine" Chance warned his friend as he didn't wish having any love rivals.

"Dude, I love Mia and to be honest, I can't handle Danger-Ace let alone The Exterminator and Danger-Ace together. It is something only Grim Reaper can do, normal people like us can't do something so dangerous." David joked and Chance too laughed.

"I don't think it would be easy for this Grim Reaper too" Chance honestly said.

David could understand Chance must be having a hard time with Samantha as she was not someone easy. Above everything, she was an assassin and not even like other normal girls.

"Are you having a lot of difficulty?" David worriedly asked him.

Chance smiled, "Don't worry, it is better than what I expected. But weren't we already prepared for it?"

"Yes"

"Anyway, how are everyone else?" Chance asked him about their friends.

"Very upset, especially Carol. Today during the meeting, she kept looking at the chair you used to sit at. She was lost and evidently very angry" David honestly told him.

Chance held the bridge of his nose in worry, "How to handle her David?"

David laughed, "What happened? Grim Reaper is feeling helpless?" 

"Dude, if I try to act rude with her, I recollect Lucas and immediately stop myself from acting arrogantly. Lucas will feel bad if I don't treat his sister well. You know how much he adored her"

"Yeah, and he pampered her so much that she turned into a spoilt brat" David agreed with Chance.

"Yes, so you can imagine her state after his death. I have to handle her carefully" Chance was worried.

"Don't worry we will handle her together" David assured him.

"Thanks dude"

"Anyway, how was the first day at office?" David could imagine how it must have been so he asked him.

Chance updated him in brief of the status there and how he worked till late skipping his lunch, he told him how Samantha scolded him like a wife, he didn't mention the kiss they shared.

"Dude, I think everyday I have to message you to check if you had your lunch or not" David scolded him after knowing how he skipped his meals.

"Hahaha no need, I promised Sam I won't skip my meals"

"Wow, that's why you will not skip your meals. Till date I scolded you so many times about it but you always ignored me and now because Samantha asked you, you will be careful?" David taunted him.

"Why does it matter who I am listening to? My health is what that should matter to you" Chance joked with him.

"Wow you are already acting like a wife-slave, trying to protect your wife from my anger" David condescendingly scolded him.

Chance scoffed, "You think I need to protect my wife from your anger? If she really gets angry with you then imagine what she would do to you"

David actually imagined and could see Danger-Ace murdering him, he shivered with this thought.

"Chance, if she ever tries to kill me, you have to protect me" David got scared with the thought he just had. 

Chance laughed loudly, "You are so scared of her dude"

"Chance please" David again pleaded with him.

"Fine, I promise you I will protect you if she ever tries to kill you" Chance made a promise and David sighed in relief.

"Dude, you are talking to me so openly, Is Mia not at home?" Chance questioned him as David is always careful when he talks about confidential stuff.

"Jack went on some work trip, so Mia, Abigail and Carol are having girls' night at Abigail's place" David informed him.

"Oh okay"

"By the way, we are all very excited to visit you in San Diego" David sarcastically informed him and Chance could sense the sarcasm.

"How are others?" 

"Very upset, I suggest buy expensive gifts for them and gift it with an apology, they all will go on guilt trip and it will be sorted"

Chance laughed hard, "What a despicable man you are David"

"This is what I learnt from you all these years" David shamelessly pushed all the blame onto Chance.

"I am glad, you learnt something from me" 

"By the way Chance, about Rook?"

David was asking about the guy Chance was supposed to meet in San Diego when suddenly some rookie people tried to attack on them at the restaurant they were to meet, which San Diego police mistook it as some terrorist attack.

"Yeah, the guy who leaked the meeting information of me and Rook that day got caught, he was paid a hefty sum so he told them about rook meeting someone important at Cannonball restaurant. He had no idea it was me who Rook was meeting but he knew it was someone important and that's why those people attacked the place."

"When did you get to know about it?"

"Just last week but since I was busy with shifting here it skipped my mind to tell you, sorry"

"No Chance don't apologize; I am glad that guy got caught. Since, you too are living in San Diego I was worried but I am glad it was not some major issue."

"Yes, it wasn't and the guys who attacked the restaurant were rookies, so there was evidence against them, they would be serving a very long time in prison."

"Nice"

Chance yawned as he was feeling sleepy, "David, I'll go to bed, good night"

"Good night"

'I am glad this insomniac guy knows how to yawn' David smiled to himself.

Next day Chance woke up early, got ready and prepared breakfast for them. 

He then headed over to Samantha's home and they had breakfast in peace. The awkwardness she felt last night was gone as Chance did not bring up that kiss at all and made her feel comfortable in his presence.

Then the two people headed to their work.
