Chapter 62 Downpour

Translator: Cheryl_M

With a flash of lightning outside the window, it started to pour with rain. When Xia Mingyu opened his eyes again, he looked at the balcony only to find it seemed to be darker. He turned over and felt upset. It had been a day since he met Yun last time. He really wanted to skip class…

“Get up.” Chen Yutian at the end of the bed acted as the alarm clock again. He turned over to see Xia Mingyu who was staring at him with his big eyes open in a fret. He quickly turned around, put on his clothes and climbed to him. “Xia Mingyu, you’re awake. What are you thinking about?”

“Can you get off my bed first?” The amber eyes narrowed with a faint purple glint. Chen Yutian hedged and got off the bed groaningly with a pout.

“You are so stingy that I’m not even allowed to sit on your bed.” Chen Yutian grimaced at Xia Mingyu and then went to wash up. Xia Mingyu rolled his eyes at him with disdain. For Xia Mingyu, people couldn’t just get on his bed without his permission.

“Hey, Xia Mingyu, it’s raining so heavily outside. How can we go to the teaching building?” Chen Yutian walked in with a bitter face and as soon as his words were uttered, the other three roommates including Hu Hai rushed over. When they all saw the downpour outside, they couldn’t help whining too.

“Oh shoot! It’s raining so heavily? We had better not go to class and just stay in the dorm.”

“It’s basically raining cats and dogs!”

“Alas, it’s so boring. We may as well watch a movie.”

The rainstorm came too suddenly. Chen Yutian checked the weather forecast on his phone and said sadly, “According to the weather forecast, it shouldn’t rain today. How come it is raining so heavily?”

Hu Hai just walked to the door. When he heard Chen Yutian’s words, he couldn’t help chuckling and leaned against the door, laughing out loud, “Dude, you still believe in the weather forecast? It is basically nonsense. If you are really too bored, go with us to watch a movie in my friend’s dorm.”

“What’s so good about that? We may as well horror movies.” Chen Yutian shrugged. Although he said that, he still walked towards the door and didn’t forget to turn around to talk to Xia Mingyu and Zhao Ziyi, “Hey, will you two join us?”

“No.” They almost answered in one voice. Faced with the gaze of the others, Xia Mingyu licked the lips and said with a slight smile, “I’m not interested. If I really don’t go to class, I would like to hang out.”

“To hang out? But it’s raining so heavily.” Chen Yutian glanced outside and frowned. Xia Mingyu shrugged and said casually, “So I’ll just stay in my dorm and play with my phone. It’s okay. You guys have fun yourselves. ”

Chen Yutian still wanted to say a few more, but Peng Yan pulled him. Chen Yutian knew that the other people were waiting for him, so he couldn’t say too much. Hence, he could only say, “Well, since neither of you will go, the dorm is yours then. I’m leaving. Bye.”

“Umm.” “Xia Mingyu nodded and agreed. As the door was closed, he stretched himself and climbed onto the bed. Zhao Ziyi was stunned, and asked below, “Xiaoyu, you don’t eat breakfast?”

“It’s raining so heavily outside. Where can I have breakfast?” Xia Mingyu stretched out his hairy head, who looked like a Persian cat. Zhao Ziyi shook his head resignedly, took out a bag of toast from the cupboard and handed it over, “Here, have some toast. I have milk too. Do you want it? ”

Xia Mingyu sat up at once and grabbed the toast with a greedy spark in his eyes. Seemingly, Zhao Ziyi seemed to see a cat tail shaking behind Xia Mingyu and two cat ears on his head. “Where’s the milk?” ”

“Here. Be careful. Don’t let it spilt over the bed.” Zhao Ziyi smiled, handed over the milk to him. Xia Mingyu fetched it and waved at him, lying in bed and eating the toast. “Don’t worry. I’m not a kid anymore.”

“In my eyes, you are always a kid.” Zhao Ziyi said slowly in a soft voice. Xia Mingyu was a bit surprised and then replied with a grin. “Okay, brother.”

It was still raining continually outside, but Zhao Ziyi’s was only thinking about the young man’s smile. In his memories, the young man seldom smiled. This was the first time that he had seen the young man smile. The smile was innocent and yet evil.

Because of the rain, the school let the students have a day off. Or it might be because of Li Le’s death yesterday. In a word, the students reveled enough this day, even if they were restrained to the dormitory only. However, they could still have fun in various ways, including playing cards, singing… Afterwards, Zhao Ziyi was picked up and only Xia Mingyu was left in the dormitory. This afternoon, Xia Mingyu got to see the person on his mind day and night.

Upon seeing Zhao Yun, who was wet all over his body at the door, Xia Mingyu rushed at him with joy, although he was stopped by Zhao Yun. “Xiaoyu, I’m wet. You’ll get dirty if you come at me.”

Well, he could get changed if his clothes was dirty. The young man pulled Zhao Yun’s hand and insisted hugging him. As a result, his clean white shirt also became wet. Zhao Yun shook his head resignedly, hugged the young man tightly and closed the door.

“Are you alone in your dorm?” Zhao Yun looked around and found no one else. He carried Xia Mingyu in his arms and sat in the chair. Xia Mingyu nodded and placed his hands around Zhao Yun’s neck, playing with his long hair at the same time.

Thinking that the young man might be alone, Zhao Yun patted the back of Xia Mingyu and asked, “Why don’t you go and play with someone else? Aren’t you bored as you are left alone?”

It would be boring to play with others… Xia Mingyu bit his lower lip and said, “It’s boring here. I don’t want to stay here anymore. Yun, can I drop out of school?” He and the other self had learnt the knowledge. Why would he learn it again? Compared with these, he would rather let the other self learn more self-protection skills under the guidance of Mu Feng, or he was too weak to protect himself. If he had known that school was so boring, he would have never agreed to come here.

“Xiaoyu, how can you neglect your studies? I hope you can study well. No matter what, it’s for your own good.” Zhao Yun shook his head. Xia Mingyu rolled his eyes. He would have run away if he didn’t dare to expose his identity or cause any trouble. Why would he hang around in the school? Moreover, the two souls were alternated too frequently recently. Sooner or later, the souls might not be able to possess the body entirely. If the Evil Soul and the Heavenly Soul couldn’t control the body by then, it would be big trouble.

But Xia Mingyu thought about it and decided not to mention it in front of Zhao Yun anymore. However, if he lived in the dorm, the time he could spend with Zhao Yun would be much less…

“Well, can I not live in the dorm?”

“You need to get along well with your classmates.”

“…” He finally figured out what was going on. It must be Sun Yaxin who told Zhao Yun how to respond to his questions. He had no idea what Sun Yaxin said about him, or how could Zhao Yun be assured of him staying in school alone?

“I know. I’ll do as you told.” Xia Mingyu didn’t look happy. Zhao Yun adored him indeed, but he also knew when to be harsh on him, especially after he learnt that Xia Mingyu was undergoing an adolescent rebellion.

“I’m leaving. Take good care of yourself.” Zhao Yun put down Xia Mingyu, left an umbrella, and walked towards the door. He seemd to be angry with Xia Mingyu’s disobedience. The young man hurriedly dashed forward and grabbed his clothes. “Yun!”

Zhao Yun turned around and looked at the young man with a pair of red eyes, as if he could see through Xia Mingyu’s mind. Xia Mingyu took a step back. For a moment, he almost thought that he was discovered by Zhao Yun.

The young man became more active recently, but Zhao Yun became a bit worried and perturbed with a feeling that the connection between him and the young man was kind of blocked.

Xia Mingyu rolls his eyes and then stepped forward grinningly to grab Zhao Yun’s hand and shake it like a spoiled child. “Yun, I’ll take care of myself. You must look after yourself too. Don’t be schemed by others.”

“Well, of course.” Zhao Yun reached out his hand to caress the young man’s soft hair. Xia Mingyu let go of his hand, watching Zhao Yun walk further and further away until he could not see him anymore. Then he closed the dorm’s door and leaned against the door with his eyes closed for a rest.

It was still raining outside and there seemed to be fog. A figure arose from the distant lotus pond. The girl stared at the boy’s dorm angrily, murmuring. The surrounding soul-eating worms were watching her without getting close to her, as if dreading something.
