Chapter 65 Escape

“Are you okay? Are you badly injured?” Sun Yaheng asked with concern. The young man lay in his arms, with a pale face, who looked a bit weak. “It’s okay. This is not the most severe. I can hold on.”

Xia Mingyu’s words made Sun Yaheng somewhat touched. Upon smelling the fragrance of the young man, Sun Yaheng almost couldn’t lose control. Luckily, his will power was strong enough to resist the temptation. The blood of the Heavenly Soul was really unusual. Only the scent only could make one excited.

The light in front was getting closer and closer, but Sun Yaheng didn’t dare to rush over. After all, the strange coffin might be inside, and it was difficult for him to protect Xia Mingyu well under the attack in three directions.

The young man seemed to guess that it wasn’t necessarily a safe place ahead. He patted him on the shoulder and said in a soft voice, “Hey, how about… How about putting me down and you run away yourself? I can resist what’s behind us for a while.” The skills he learned from Mu Feng were not useless, even if he had nothing on him. It was okay to stall for time with the power of Heavenly Soul.

In front of them was the unknown monster, which could easily drain the blood from a human being while behind them were the tough fierce ghosts and soul-eating worms. If Sun Yaheng was only a priest, they two would be doomed. However, Sun Yaheng was not.

Sun Yaheng took out a tiger tally from his inner pocket and mumbled, but the next second, a group of ghost soldiers suddenly got out of the stone walls on both sides and hindered the fierce ghosts and soul-eating worms.

“You… You raise ghosts?” Xia Mingyu was shocked. Sun Yaheng stopped to order the ghost soldiers and explained to him, “I don’t raise them. This is called ghost summoning. Don’t worry. We won’t die.”

Ghost summoning. The disgruntlement in Xia Mingyu’s eyes was alleviated a lot. As long as he didn’t raise ghosts by hurting people, it was good.

“However, can those ghost soldiers beat the soul-eating worms? I remember that soul-eating worms can devour souls.” Xia Mingyu was worried, but Sun Yaheng put him down. He intended to let him pressed against the stone wall but due to the injuries in his back, Xia Mingyu gasped in pain when his back reached the wall. Hence, Sun Yaheng moved him away.

Then he rolled up his Xia Mingyu’s trousers and checked for his leg injuries. Xia Mingyu’s legs were scratched by the ghosts. With the injuries surrounded with black smoke, the Yin Qi invaded into the young man’s body. Sun Yaheng frowned slightly and took a pill from the small bag at his waist.

“Eat it, or if the ghost’s Qi stays within your body too long, it could get fatal.” Xia Mingyu stiffened and looked at the pill. It occurred to him that Cao Pi used to feed him with the Three Days Alive. He subconsciously resisted the pill and pushed Sun Yaheng’s hand away, saying, “No, no, I’m fine.”

Seeing that the young man was hedging, Sun Yaheng was surprised. By reason, Xia Mingyu was supposed to take the pill, check it and then eat it. Why did he appear so scared all of a sudden? Sun Yaheng carefully looked Xia Mingyu up and down only to find the red mark in the middle of his eyebrows disappeared, and finally realized that the chief personality was back. No wonder he saved Su Yaheng, but why didn’t he take the pill? Afraid of being poisoned?

“Don’t worry. This is not poisonous.” Sun Yaheng put the pill into Xia Mingyu’s hand. The young man was a little embarrassed to be seen through, bit his lips and hesitated. He still remembered how painful he felt by the Three Days Alive given by Cao Pi. The pain was so strong that he could recall it clearly, so he really didn’t dare to take the pill. However… Sun Yaheng shouldn’t hurt him.

The young man was hesitant, who was not as decisive as the previous him, but at least he was kind enough to save Sun Yaheng’s life. Sun Yaheng shook his head, ate a pill himself and then spread his hand to show Xia Mingyu, “Look. I’m fine, right? Just rest assured. The pill is not poisonous, but it can stop the ghost’s Qi from invading your body.”

Xia Mingyu blushed, lowered his head and swallowed the pill, whispering in a soft voice, “Thank you…”

Sun Yaheng smiled, took off his coat and put it on Xia Mingyu. The injuries on the young man’s body were still not easy to deal with. After all, they hadn’t returned to a safe place on the ground. After all, Sun Yaheng glanced at the fierce ghosts and the soul-eating worms, and then told Xia Mingyu, “Stay here. I will deal with the evil spirits. Remember, don’t go in there. You should know that the coffin mentioned by Chen Yutian is over there.”

After saying that, Sun Yaheng headed towards the fierce ghosts. Xia Mingyu turned around and looked at the place with bright light. He thought of the incident that happened more than a decade ago, mentioned by Chen Yutian, and the workers who were drained of blood. He couldn’t help trembling and decided not to mess around with that.

His legs were still bleeding, which couldn’t be left alone. However, he had nothing to bind up his injuries. After thinking for a moment, he tore apart the shirt to dress the injuries on his legs. He bound up his leg injuries but he couldn’t do anything about the injuries on his back.

As he recalled, Cao Pi used to beat him so severely to the same degree. Afterwards, Zhao Yun healed the injuries for him. Last time, he was hurt by the ghosts in Korla of Xinjiang. Back then, Wu Jiuge was there for him.

Now there were only him and Sun Yaheng. Worse still, the enemies seemed more dangerous this time. He always tended to cause trouble. If it were not for helpers, he would be dead before… All the people were protecting him but he was always confused where to go.

Suddenly, a whimper came from the cave enveloped by the light, and the black smoke spread. Xia Mingyu’s pupils shrank and then he rushed to call Sun Yaheng, “Gosh! Something is coming from there.”

Sun Yaheng managed to turn around and felt shocked to see the coming black smoke. Now they were driven into a corner. He never expected to be besieged by others. However, he might not necessarily lose.

Sun Yaheng ran over to hold up Xia Mingyu again, and a loud whistle came out of his mouth. The ghost soldiers started acting and ushered the fierce ghosts and soul-eating worms to the black smoke. Nevertheless, the black smoke didn’t seem interested in the fierce ghosts, which ignored the ghosts directly. As for the soul-eating worms, they were all drained up. The dried shells of the worms fell to the ground, disgusting Xia Mingyu for a while.

“It seems that it even eats the soul-eating worms. It is great then. Soul-eating worms wouldn’t die, which would stall it for a while.” Sun Yaheng sneered. New soul-eating worms suddenly appeared above their shells on the ground and then the shells just disappeared.

The black smoke and the soul-eating worms fell into a deadlock. Sun Yaheng ordered to divide the ghost soldiers into two batches. One was to handle the fierce ghosts and the other was to hold Sun Yaheng and Xia Mingyu upwards.

Being frightened by Tengxiao last time left a lingering impression on Xia Mingyu. At the moment, he didn’t dare to open his eyes in Sun Yaheng’s arms. Sun Yaheng smiled resignedly and then looked at the cracked hole. He had been secretly attacked behind his back before. Now he had to wonder whether the attacker was still there. What if he hurled himself into the net again?

Sun Yaheng blew a whistle, and instantly a ghost soldier flew upwards first. Shortly after that, the ghost returned to report that no one was up there. Did the attacker leave? What was he up to? Only to make them fall down here? Or the attacker was sure that they would be devoured by the evil in the cave for they couldn’t escape?

No matter what, he would get even with the one who attacked him sneakingly. Sun Yaheng snorted. The ghost soldiers quickened their paces and sent them to the ground soon.

After coming out, without hesitation, Sun Yaheng cast a constraint spell at the mouth of the cave, but the black smoke didn’t catch up. It seemed that the thing preferred to hide down there. Sun Yaheng didn’t think much about it and then left the basement with Xia Mingyu, who was unconscious.

Xia Mingyu didn’t wake up in the school but in a strange place. The ancient building of the Chinese style reminded him of Mu Feng’s home, but this place was not his home. Mu Feng’s house was a quadrangle courtyard, which was also apparently smaller than the present one. This building of Chinese style was more of an ancient style, but it seemed to be a renovated one with new brown pillars. The steady color made the whole building solemn and magnificent.

But where was he?

His injuries seemed to have been dealt with. Xia Mingyu had already run out of the room where he woke up. He had wandered for a long time but he didn’t meet with any person. As a result, he couldn’t help feeling worried. Was he dreaming again? What would he dream of this time?

“You’re awake.” Sun Yaheng’s familiar voice suddenly came from behind, which sent a chill down the spine of Xia Mingyu. Instantly, Xia Mingyu jumped away like a frightened cat, and then stared at Sun Yaheng with alertness. To his surprise, he found Sun Yaxin, Zhao Yun and Eight Tails. He must be dreaming for real…

“Poof, haha, Xia Mingyu, you are so funny. I saw clearly that you were totally freaked out right?” Sun Yaxin placed his hands against Sun Yaheng’s shoulders and cracked up. Eight Tails rolled straight from Zhao Yun’s shoulders into his arms, shaking with laughter. “Meow. Haha, I didn’t expect Xia Mingyu would be freaked out one day. It’s so funny. Pitifully, Wangchuan isn’t there.”

Sun Yaheng also smiled directly while Zhao Yun raised his hand to cover his lower lip, but it didn’t help at all. Xia Mingyu clearly saw him smile! Crap! These people all laughed at him!

The young man’s handsome face suddenly flushed. He kind of became angry from shame and bit his lower lip with his amber eyes turning watery. “Don’t laugh! You… You are so annoyed!”

However, no matter how the young man shouted, his friends just laughed. Zhao Yun didn’t stop laughing until he saw the tears in Xia Mingyu’s eyes. Then he went near and stroked his head, saying condolently, “Okay, I won’t laugh at you anymore. How are you doing? Do you still feel hurt?”

His wounds had been handled before with medicine, which couldn’t be done by Zhao Yun. Seemingly, Sun Yaheng took him here and looked after him before Zhao Yun arrived.
