Naruto : An Uchiha's Tale

The academy was fun at times, but boring most of it. Jin didn't learn any new jutsu, and he only found pleasure in decimating his classmates when sparring. At some point, he got bored of using the Sharingan to win instantly and decided to only use taijutsu. Which led to a lot of infirmary trips.

Their classmates had all accepted the Uchiha trio as leaders. And while the boys envied them, the girls all fell for them, competing against each other at all times in order to get their attention.

Jin and Fugaku found this newly discovered fame uninteresting for the most part, but it was Hideki who was having the most fun. Enjoying the respect he got from everyone, his confidence grew, which was a very good thing since he lived under the shadow of his two cousins at the moment.

During theory classes, Jin listened carefully. He learned that Konoha was currently going through a war recovery period. Along with the other four great nations.

The consecutive loss of their three strongest members (Hashirama, Madara, and Tobirama), was what leveled the playing field with the other nations. Now, war could be waged without the threat of being annihilated by one of the three.

The village's relationship with Kumogakure was currently very tense, due to the fact that the second Hokage had been killed by members of that particular power. Ignoring the fact that they had formed a peace treaty.

Jin was happy about the situation, which likely meant he would get to kill Kumogakure ninjas in the future. The same ones that killed his father.

As he was thinking about all of this, he was interrupted by Hideki, who sensed his cousin's murderous intent rising.

"Jin! Fugaku! today is the day of the annual ninjutsu competition."

Hideki's eyes were sparkling like diamonds.

"I was told that the winner gets to have lunch with the Hokage himself!"

Hearing this, Fugaku wasn't too interested, but Jin had always wanted to personally meet the third Hokage. This was a perfect opportunity to do just that.

After the lessons ended, the trio made their way to the academy's training field, where a small wooden platform had been erected for the contest. Most of the students that enrolled that year were there to participate, and some of the older kids also came to watch the show along with the teachers.

They placed themselves at the end of the line and patiently waited for their turn. After about thirty minutes, Hideki took the spotlight. All of the girls present had love hearts replacing their eyes as they watched one of the three handsome Uchihas make an appearance.

Their fan club made the most amount of noise, as they were dressed with uniforms that read: "no JFH no life" JFH being an abbreviation for the trio's first letters in their given names.

Jin felt his scalp tingle, as Fugaku suddenly had the urge to vomit. Hideki though, was happy as can be, performing his body flicker technique as he disappeared from sight. Reappearing on top of a nearby tree, before going back to his spot and bowing.

The teachers were pleasantly surprised, and the girls started yelling his name as the rest of the boys went green with envy. With a smug smile on his face, Hideki made way for Fugaku.

The girls screamed even harder, so the principal had to take action by ordering them to remain silent. Looks of gratitude appeared on all of the male's faces.

Hideki was goofy and interacted with them, while Fugaku was a cold prince, that never spared a single second for them. Jin was not cold nor was he too friendly, but he was the favorite due to his amazing looks. The girls had all they needed with those three around.

Back on the podium, Fugaku performed his great fireball technique and instantly left all of the adults gaping. Such a big fireball would require an advanced genin, or even a chuunin to accomplish. Fugaku kept a serious expression as he made his way over to Hideki.

Finally, it was Jin's turn, and everyone remained silent. All of them wanting to see how the number one rookie would surprise them all.

Jin closed his eyes and started to mold his chakra. In order to secure victory, he was going to use the secret jutsu he had been practicing by himself for the past few months.

As he quickly performed the hand seals, all eyes were fixated on him. At that moment he let out a loud shout.

"Katon: Great Dragon Fire Technique!"

A large fireball was blown from his mouth, although smaller than Fugaku's the heat it radiated was at least double. Taking on the distinct shape of a dragon, it exploded on a nearby target. Leaving a big area in flames.

Everybody at the scene was so surprised that they didn't react to the flames burning, and looked at Jin with incredulity. What Jin had just performed was nothing less than a B-rank Jutsu, and a powerful one at that.

The students didn't know about the technique, so they just thought the dragon was really cool and started to cheer loudly. Screams started to fill the grounds all over again.

Fugaku and Hideki felt defeated and sulked. Jin made his way to them, looking visibly exhausted. Performing that jutsu was enough to leave him with less than ten percent of his chakra, so he had really tried hard on this one.

Hideki regained his composure first, and supported Jin from his left side, whereas Fugaku swallowed his words and did the same thing on the other side, preventing Jin's fall.

"You went overboard"

Fugaku reprimanding him wasn't new to Jin as he just agreed with him by nodding constantly.

Just as people were starting to make sense of what had just happened, the third Hokage appeared in front of Jin and his cousins. He then signaled for an ANBU to extinguish the flames on the target. Taking care of it swiftly.

While looking into the trio's eyes, Hiruzen assessed the young members of the Uchiha clan. After what seemed like a few minutes, he gave a slight nod and asked them a simple question.

"What do you three like to eat?"

Looks of envy were thrown at the three from all sides, as they replied at the same time.

"Ramen!"

Jin had made it a tradition for him and his cousins to eat at Ichiraku's after training during the weekends. Teuchi wasn't working there yet, but his parents were incredibly skilled!
