Necromancer: Becoming a God from a Lord
Chapter 21 The Legacy of the Ancient Mage
The remains of the stone tower in the huge pit were covered with vines and moss.
After falling, it was severely impacted and broken. The entire stone tower was quite large, and the base area was almost as large as the main building of Harvey's small manor.
Such building creations generally leave a main exit in and out of the Mage Tower at the base.
Harvey manipulated the reconnaissance eye and carefully observed around the bottom of the stone tower.
Sure enough, on the back of the stone tower base, a thick stone door that broke from the middle fell tilted aside, revealing a deep black entrance.
The maintenance of the reconnaissance eye requires refraction of light, so Harvey cannot manipulate it into the stone door.
The alchemy beast is relatively large in size, and it is obviously impossible to move in a narrow space where structural fractures occur due to its collapse.
I can only go down and find out what it is.
Putting away the detection technique, Harvey looked up and told Pierce who was alert, and then greeted Reiner.
Let Reiner carry him on his back and climb down to the bottom of the pit.
"Sir, let me go in first, just follow me." Reiner was not afraid to explore this unknown space.
He skillfully ignited the "hot ray" weapon on his arm, and arched his body slightly and drilled into the black stone door.
Harvey followed closely, holding the already-activated magic stone of light in his hand.
The space at the bottom of the stone tower is very small and you don’t need too many light sources to see it at a glance.
The broken and pouring walls are covered with smooth edges, which should have been used to install racks or wooden stairs in the past.
But these things have obviously been corrupted and disappeared.
After walking for more than a dozen steps, he encountered a huge collapsed stone beam. The pore below Harvey could barely bend over and pass through.
Reiner had to kneel down and crawl through time.
The space behind the stone beams became wide open in an instant, and it seemed that the damage suffered here was not serious.
There were collapsed stone statues everywhere, and fragments of various broken crystal containers were piled up in the corners, rotting only books with leather covers left. Harvey picked them up gently, and the pages inside turned into a layer of powder.
Some of the wreckages that seem to be metal instruments are also rusted like mud and can be broken by slight pinching.
This should be a study or a magic laboratory.
Harvey looked at the scene in front of him and felt that the time when this mage tower existed might be traced back to the Dragon War more than 400 years ago.
I just don’t know that such a huge mage tower has been built in such a desolate and remote area.
What type and level is its master?
Because of some accident or accident, I gave up here and let it be submerged in the dust of history and time.
Harvey and Reiner tried their best to search the room with the light source.
"Hey! Sir, look at the ceiling!" Reiner noticed the top of his head because of his height advantage.
Harvey looked up and saw several irregular holes inlaid with something on the stone wall at the top of the room.
Stepping on Reiner's shoulder, he leaned closer to observe.
It turned out to be a metal ore with a dim luster and an elliptical shape.
Harvey carefully pried off one with a short knife, and held it in his hand and felt heavy, with a cool and smooth touch.
"What metal is this? It's not light in weight and seems to be very dense."
No matter so much, Harvey decided to pry it off first and take it back and study it slowly.
Reiner held Harvey for a while and harvested seven or eight of these strange metal ores, all put them in Reiner's tough and durable leather shoulder bag.
After searching for a while, after finding nothing, Harvey had no choice but to decide to leave here and return to the ground.
As soon as I lifted my foot to the broken stone beam and was about to bow and walk through it.
He vaguely heard a shout, as if with a little echo, intermittently and difficult to tell.
Harvey felt his hair stand upside down, and he immediately asked Reiner to re-check the walls around the room and carefully observe whether there was a dark room or mechanism.
He took out a magic stone, ready to inspire the spell to release spells at any time.
Soon, the shouts rang out again, this time it became much clearer, as if it was coming from the depths of his feet.
Harvey subconsciously jumped back, and his back hit Reiner's hard breastplate, grinning in pain.
"There is a secret room under the room? Someone is calling for help inside?"
Harvey felt cold sweat coming out. How could this be possible? This ancient wizard tower has existed for at least four hundred years and is located in the depths of the wasteland on the northern slope of Jackdaw Ridge. Except for his own accidental discovery, who else can reach here?
"Save me...Save me..."
The cry for help continued to sound, becoming clearer, and Harvey was sure that it was indeed coming from the underground under his feet.
Reiner held up the fire-burning welding torch in front of Harvey, and the air-exposed mouth and metal jaw on the skull trembled up and down, making a terrifying giggle.
"Big, sir, there are ghosts here! Let's run!"
Harvey swallowed, stretched out his feet to brush away the dust and wreckage piled on the ground.
A square cellar cover was exposed, with a round depression on it. It should have been opened and the door knocker was covered, but unfortunately it had been rusted long ago.
Reiner also stretched out his feet and stomped the cover, making a dull sound.
There is no mistake, one, one, one, one, one, one, one, one 619, one book, one, one, one, one, one, one, a book!
"There is empty below, sir."
Harvey nodded and calmed down. "Find a way to open it, Reiner."
Reiner squatted down and poked out the metal arm, trying to snatch it in the gap in the cover, without moving at all.
The stone cover opens from the bottom up, so there should be an additional fixing device at the bottom.
Seeing that he couldn't pry it open, Reiner simply clenched his fist and punched the cover hard.
There was a loud bang! A fine dust rose in the whole room.
A small gap appeared on the stone slab.
Reiner didn't stop, and continued to swing his metal fist, hitting the stone slab with powerful punches.
After swinging dozens of punches in a row, he finally heard a crisp cracking sound, and the stone cover shattered into several pieces and fell into the dark cellar.
Harvey threw another magic stone of illumination into the cellar, watching it fall to the ground and roll a few times, illuminating part of the dark space.
"My lord, I'll go down and take a look first." Reiner waited for Harvey to nod in agreement, and then immediately jumped into the cellar.
"How is it? Reiner, what did you find?" Harvey felt a little anxious, and leaned his head to call Reiner who jumped down.
But he didn't get a response.
"Oh no, is there a well-preserved magic trap in this cellar?" Harvey's heart tightened, and he immediately climbed the edge of the cellar entrance and jumped in.
As soon as he landed and stood up, he found Reiner's tall figure standing not far away with his back to him.
Harvey approached with a light source and looked forward along the light magic stone in Reiner's hand.
He was stunned like Reiner.
It was a huge, crystal clear, light yellow amber ore embedded in the wall.
The scary thing is that this huge transparent amber.
Wrapped in a slender human figure, it can be barely distinguished through the crystal. The human figure closed his eyes, his pale face was lifelike, and his body and limbs were slightly twisted. It seemed that he was still struggling hard to get out of the amber crystal.
"Is he... is he still alive?" Reiner finally came to his senses and asked tremblingly.
"I don't know either." Harvey murmured, subconsciously placing his palm on the surface of the amber crystal, and a warm touch came from his palm.
"Save me!"
The voice came out from the amber crystal again.
Harvey looked up and saw the twisted person trapped inside, his eyes originally closed.
Now they were open...
