Immortality had been fiction,

Both a goal and a mystery,

And people wanted that, for a lot of reasons,

Even though many said that it's all baloney.

Human greed knows no bounds,

And it's getting harder, for things to go around,

And it was proven yet again when a program was conducted,

They tested it first on animals,

Until they felt it'd be better on humans,

Secret organizations lend this project support,

Despite the endless possibilities of it going wrong,

They resort.

And so as expected of our desire for perfection,

Things went downhill, and we were greeted by destruction,

The test subjects became violent after recieving countless injections,

They yelled and scream, telling everyone they saw some sort of apparition.

They began clawing their eyes out,

While some eat the other subjects,

This isn't what they wanted without a doubt,

This is far from what they deem worth it.

They began to call off the mission,

But some wanted to pursue it still, despite the objections,

And then the other set of the subjects grew wild,

This is too much for a warning some considered mild.

Many tried to hide it, but when a few test subjects escaped,

The world suddenly became hell in a matter of days,

They didn't know when or how they will stop this,

This is humankind's punishment for their selfish ways.
