NEW YEAR AND AN APOCALYPSE

Alone, on a room, whilst the monsters claw their way in,

If I went with my mother, my future, what could have been?

My stomach rumble in hunger, as I slowly ran out of food,

I started to cry in desperation, although l know it won't do me good.

I listened to the screams, blood-curdling and terrifying,

All begging for help, but l only froze, as I hear them dying,

For what help could I give? This isn't a movie or anything,

And I'm no protagonist, might die on the process of saving.

I looked at my phone, still no signal, what is the government doing?

Still angry, I threw it on my bed, why is everything confusing?

What human experiment, illness have made the world in peril?

Damn it, seems like this is the worst of all April.

But why is the world seem to be ending?

I cursed under my breath as I think of a way out,

But getting out alive, I still sometimes doubt...
