Nikita
Chapter 128 - She’s A Wolf
[NIKITA]
'Stop it' Nikita said to himself.
He had just realized he was fading off into the world that Arya was possibly not even creating for him. He was in his thoughts about a woman who had made it very clear from the beginning that she would make his life hard. What was it that they had expected anyway?
"She's not human, Nikita," Rael managed to get out before Morgana came to the screen, and Nikita Pavlenko was shocked for the second time today. What the hell did Rael mean, not human? That was insane.
Whatever it was, this wasn't how he had expected a turnout. First, she looked like death, and now she was talking about the woman not being human?
Indeed this had to be some joke, right? The earth was full of humans unless the woman was an alien, but then the probability of that would be very low because aliens were never that stupid like Samantha, right?
"Can someone fuċkɨnġ explain what the fuċk happened?" Nikita said, and Rael took the liberty to explain everything. From the beginning of their interaction to everything Arya said to them.
While they were talking and narrating their ordeal, Nikita was listening, sure, but he was also thinking of how Arya's name fit her perfectly. It was a beautiful name for a beautiful woman. Arya Knight, wow.
The good doctor loved how her name sounded, so fragile and beautiful, like it was meant for just her. He couldn't think of anyone with the same name, and that was so fitting. Whoever the Thai woman was, she had to be special.
"I'm sorry I failed you. I didn't know she was a wolf," Rael said, and Nikita snapped back to reality. He had to focus on the matter at hand, and the woman his subconscious was busy focusing on was the same woman who had been up to his soldiers.
She would take responsibility, and he would make her pay for it. First, she interrupted his daily life schedule, and now she was out here, creating his soldiers look weak when they aren't weak.
Nikita wanted to tell Rafael that it was okay, but then he remembered something that he needed to have focused on. The fact that no one had ever beat up Rael and Morgana and left them unbruised. There had to be something about that Arya woman.
"Wolf? As in werewolf?" Nikita asked, not believing what he had awarded. Were they lying in a dystopian future, or was his mind finally giving way to insanity?
Indeed Real couldn't have meant that the woman was a wolf, a werewolf of all the things that could have been done or even could have happened. All of this didn't make sense, and it was all bogus, but was it?
"Yes, boss," Morgana said angrily as she came into the frame. She looked worse than Real, making Nikita even more curious about this werewolf. The theory was starting to make sense, but did they have claw marks on them?
Did they have the proof that Arya Knight was a werewolf, or had they both gone delusional in the torture chamber? This shit was frustrating, but at least Nikita got some new information.
He didn't want to focus on the woman being a wolf, mainly because he didn't care what she was or where she was from. Well, he did, but that wasn't his target at the moment.
"What did she want," Nikita asked after a moment of silence. He couldn't think straight, and he couldn't find a way to understand this or even make it bearable. This was a supernatural being in the mix, but what the fuċk was a supernatural being doing in Nikita's life?
The doctor didn't remember anything that he could have done to make someone want to hurt him like Sama— Like Arya. He hadn't wronged anyone, and clearly, the woman wasn't obsessed with him, so what the fuċk did this Arya Knight woman want from him?
What was her stake in all of this? Why did she have to choose the doctor, particularly this doctor of all the people? The Pavlenko family was wealthy, but they weren't the wealthiest families in Todorov or even Russia as a whole; what was this weird interest that the women had in him?
"You. She said to tell you she would be coming for you, and it wasn't a death threat," Rael said as Nikita raised his eyebrows.
If Arya Knight wanted him, then she sure had weird ways of showing it. And not a death threat?
What the hell did the woman want with him? So far, anyone who wanted to break down the Pavlenko family had either come in front of broken patients or come to claim that the Pavlenkos had ripped them off. But this woman wanted the doctor? Wow.
Then, she had to have some issues because the good doctor and love weren't exactly best friends. He had better things to focus on than a life partner.
He wanted to find his brother and to get the virus, and then after that, he would go after everyone who hurt his family; only then would he even consider falling in love, but that's too wasn't a guarantee.
He always had someone he loved, someone he would cross the oceans for and risk his whole life for. That, someone, was pretty special to him, and Nikita Pavlenko would do anything to stay with this person.
The person, the doctor, adored so much was his career.
He loved being a neurosurgeon, and nothing could take him away from it. Maybe death, but until death does not show up to him or even hit him in the face, Nikita would always wear the white gown with pride and his stethoscope with dignity.
He would always choose his career, and that was non-negotiable.
"Yeah, it was weird. She kicked out ȧsses, then walked off after telling us she would protect you. What a weird woman," Morgana said angrily. She was mad that the woman had kicked their ȧsses, and she was angry that their opponent was a creature they didn't even know about.
She was traumatized by the sight she had seen when Arya had freely broken out of the chains that bound her. It had almost been like nothing could stop her. What the hell was she even supposed to make of that?
"Are you guys okay?" Nikita asked. He wasn't sure what he needed to do because his bets were bested for the first time. He wanted to know this woman, and he wanted to find her, and he wanted to sit down with her.
No one caused an uproar in his life and left just like that. It was unacceptable. He would find her, no matter what happened, because Arya Knight had just added herself to the list of people Nikita Pavlenko would have to deal with at a personal level.
