Nozomanu Fushi no Boukensha

Lesson 561: A pile of challenges and similarities

"... I see, that's... This makes the boner Skeleton..."

One case in the village of Krask......

When I told him about when I was asked to exorcise a boner and actually did it, and he found something odd like a magic trick, Ingo muttered that way thinking about it.

"Look at that, do you know what it is?

take the cup and stare carefully at Ingo. That's what Lorraine asks, but Ingo says,

"... no. I'm sorry, but I can't live up to expectations. However, I have heard that there used to be a demonic prop that encouraged demons to grow..."

"Is it true!?

Lorraine rides herself out and asks Ingo.

But the ingo,

"... I've just heard of it. It doesn't exist here right now, and I don't know how to make it."

That's what I said, so Lorraine dropped her shoulder disappointingly.

"Really...... but I just appreciate hearing that. It once existed, because there could still be technology somewhere to make it. Even if it's a tool... it's not all there is, it might be something else."

"I guess so... somewhere, the same thing..."

Snorts at Lorraine's story, bumps and squeaks ingo.

Then he opened his eyes in a stiff manner, but after a moment, he shook his neck to the side.

I'm concerned about that unfamiliar oddity, and I ask Ingo.

"... what's wrong, Dad"

"No... not a big deal"

"Oh my god, that's disgusting...... if you ever thought about it, tell me"

"... so is that. No, it's really just a thought... that the cup is what encourages demons to grow, and according to your experiments, the slimes that let them fight in the cup were absorbed by each other's winners, right? Moreover, it showed a high absorption rate with high efficiency than is normally seen."

"Well, that's the thing. Do I have to be in the cup necessarily, do I just have it, to what extent it works if I stay away, or do I have other ways of using it... or something like that I would have to do a little more research"

"No, not right now about that neighborhood. It's just that I thought... don't they look alike?

"Similar? To what?"

"... in the Labyrinth."

◆ ◇ ◆ ◇ ◆

Even though Lorraine and I were a little surprised by the words that came out of Ingo's mouth, we were convinced.

Normally, what Ingo said seems too flawless, but from what we've been through... because I felt convinced that it was similar.

In the Labyrinth, demons are said to evolve easily.

That's a lot more likely than when you're out there.

It has not actually been possible to confirm that clearly, but by the rules of thumb and research of many adventurers, researchers and other predecessors, it is said that there is almost no doubt.

Why does that happen?

Why is it different outside and in the labyrinth?

Various theories exist as to why, and they say that because the magic of space itself is thick, or because it is a closed space, it is difficult for magic to escape outside.

And one of those theories is likely to have something to do with the ingo story.

"... there was also a theory that the Labyrinth itself was a giant magic tool."

Lorraine snorted too when I squeaked like that.

"Oh... isn't it strange if it works just like this cup? Previously, when I explored the underground labyrinth of Malt with Laura, I was also briefed on the labyrinth… it was a story of several kinds. He also said that the underground labyrinth of Malt is it, sometimes made of magic, using demonic stones and magic props. And the resulting labyrinth... it's not strange to say it's a magic trick."

"I wonder if the labyrinth artificially created by witchcraft has the nature to promote the evolution of demons..."

"I don't know for sure if there is anything that isn't artificial... unless I ask Laura if there is, but I can't say that there is no similar function for those things. So you can't be sure there. However, there is no doubt that this cup and the labyrinth are similar... this cup is... a super small labyrinth, maybe something like"

"That's what I feel like talking about without clapping. It's not like there's a maze in the cup."

"Well, that is. It's just a similar function, that's all. However, it is conceivable that it may be made of similar technologies. Perhaps the technology to make this cup is preceded by the technology to make the labyrinth itself. Isn't that funny?"

"Hmm... I don't think it's that easy."

First, the scale is different in the first place.

I wouldn't even say I could build a castle because I could build a building block.

It's just that there's no connection at all.

"Apparently, my thoughts came in handy, too, huh?

That's what I say and smile as I hear Ingo talk about me and Lorraine thriving.

"Yeah, you've inspired me well. I'm going to study this cup from that direction in the future as well. Of course, it would be a problem to have too many preconceptions... but surprisingly, it had nothing to do with this."

Hard work, if I were pushing forward, would have been as if I were heading in the opposite direction, what a good thing, not just academic research.

We must proceed with caution, bearing in mind the many possibilities.

However, it would be a shame to be noticed by a point of view that I still hadn't really noticed.

I also think it should have immediately occurred to me that the effects of the cup and the labyrinth were very similar, but they were too different in size to be seen.

That's why I guess it was easier to realize that an amateur ingo who wasn't even looking into the cup than me or Lorraine, who had always been relative to the cup, speaking of which.

◆ ◇ ◆ ◇ ◆

"Now, shall we get back to business? I'm talking about my training as Monster Tamer..."

That's what Ingo said, so we snort and listen.

Ingo continues.

"As I said earlier, Lorraine is good at handling magic. So after you've learned the basics, you better move right into practice. So you don't mind?

"Yes, of course...... or if Lord Ingo is better at it, I will obey it. Because I am a complete amateur about the technique of an exorcist."

"Okay. And... Lent. What are you gonna do? Garb tells me you're pretty clever about handling magic, too. I think it would be possible to wear it..."

"What, me? Right..."

As far as I'm concerned, I'm back here to get Garb and Capitan to work out again.

But in addition to that, would it be of any use if I also learned my skills as an obedient demon master, Monster Tamer?

Because there is only about a month until the silver test, I know that if I am greedy about that and this, I will run out of time in no time.

I know, but my nature in the first place, which I couldn't come alive without wearing a lot of things for a long time, makes me feel a rejection of pretending to have the opportunity to acquire new techniques...

I honestly told Ingo that feeling.

"I told you at the beginning, I, basically, came back to get Garb and Capitan to train in combat skills to take the silver promotion exam this time, me. So how much time can you devote to the training of your exorcists..."

"You did...... you'll need to talk to the galbs about that. Well, when I say teaching, it's just the basics for now. I don't think it's going to take long, but it depends on your talent. Lent. You should talk to the galbs first before you decide."
