Chapter 13: Facing The Second dungeon Monsters' Wave
Brendy looked in a strange way to him, like he was getting someone's else credit. "What are you talking about?" he just said after a few moments of feeling awkward. "I don't have such high luck values at all," he added.
"Oh, I think it's me then," Peri suddenly said, while looking somehow embarrassed. "my luck value was high from the start, I didn't even need to level it up," she smiled, with a faint redness over her lively cheeks.
Bloom put this remark in his mind, and silently commended on her great luck. If he could, he wanted her to be with him all the time, as this luck would bless him and make everything go smoother than ever.
"Isn't luck a stat we all have?" Gored asked in doubt.
"It's," Bloom replied, while he went ahead to collect materials from these monsters, "but there is another luck state, hidden and not unlocked until certain requirements are met. This state would affect, greatly, our performances, like how our skills turned out to have all these crits," he added, while beginning collecting materials.
"Hey, we need to agree on how to distribute materials first," Brendy pumped in, trying to stop Bloom, who kept dissecting the monster's body, collecting the material from it, while saying:
"I think it's fair to distribute materials evenly."
"That won't work," Brendy argued again, "the number of materials we get isn't e…" he stopped in his own words when he watched Bloom take out one material after another, intake and without a scratch.
He suddenly remembered the skill Bloom had, and that made the look over his face very funny to others.
"Go ahead brother Bloom, I agree on what you just suggested," Gored said, killing off any debate before it surfaced, "and thanks for the help you gave to us regarding the monsters," he sincerely thanked him, as without his warning, things would get out of their control.
"It's nothing," Bloom shrugged his shoulders, as he finished collecting the five materials from one monster, then headed to another.
Seven monsters, each gave five materials, so each player would gain three materials at least. As for the remaining five, Gored offered them to Bloom, who didn't refuse the gift.
"Why isn't there a system alert about killing these monsters?" one of the swordsmen asked, as he checked the notifications more than once, and he didn't see anything related to these monsters.
"We need to end the dungeon, either by completing it or after we get wiped out, then the system will calculate the number of fallen monsters' XP, and distributes the Xp equally to all of us," Bloom said, like he was stating a simple known fact.
"You know a lot of things, damn those betas," Brendy just murmured, in a tone enough to be heard by all, however Bloom completely ignored him, as he pointed one of his two swords to the cave entrance, while asking:
"Shall we enter?"
"Let's go," Gored said, ordering everyone, as he was the leader of this team, will we face the same type of attack inside?" he asked, as once they entered the cave, they were shocked to see the dimly lit nature of it.
Bloom wasn't surprised, though, as all dungeons were known to be dimly lit, a nightmare to players if they were facing assassin based monsters. It was a game setting to let all dungeons below level ten void of this annoying , notorious class.
"Let's stop here, and try to adjust to the dim light here," Bloom said, advising them to stop and get themselves adapted first.
"Is the dungeon all this dim?" Peri asked, with some worry over her face.
"Don't worry, in time we will get used to this," Bloom reassured here, "plus we already have an ace in our team," he then looked towards Brendy, as this was the time this player would shine.
"What about me?" Brendy asked, with more annoyance over his face from the all knowing superior tone he alone felt from Bloom, who explained:
"This dungeon's main difficulty is in detecting monsters before they attack us. If we were attacked first, we will need some time to adjust our position, and that would give the monsters a chance to make our formation more unstable. Your role is to go ahead, detect these monsters' places first, and inform us all in the chat about their location."
Brendy didn't like the idea, though it seemed logical to him. before he could refuse, Gored interfered and said:
"Good plan, go now and scout the way ahead."
Brendy looked unsatisfied with this task, however he went up ahead, nonetheless. Bloom just watched him, as he inwardly sighed. If this assassin's personality was less toxic, he might have given him good counters which would make him grow faster.
However, as he was so mean, he deserved to learn the lessons, bitterly, on himself, and he was worth the opportunities he would miss.
As Brendy moved and blended with the grayish atmosphere here, everyone started to take their designated positions as well. They followed the old arrangement from before, but Bloom moved a couple of steps to the front, to be able to have more flexible and timely reactions.
'Ten monsters are spread in a V shaped formation, one hundred meters from your location. Wide area, so be aware of that,' in less than a minute, Brendy sent in the team chat, stating what he found.
Bloom had to admit, this was a good assassin, wasted by his own twisted personality.
"Let's go, maintain formation," Gored said, as everyone stepped to the front, while Bloom said:
"When we reach there, let the DPS move inside, and let the two of us stop at the opening, holding the place."
Gored understood his meaning, as this would be an easy place to defend, a hard place for monsters to bypass them. He nodded, and said nothing in return, as he decided to take every word coming out of Bloom in serious consideration.
It took them one minute to find themselves exiting the long tunnel into a wide hall. It was all covered with rocks, with some dampness in the place. in the middle of the hall, there were ten monsters, like Brendy described, taking the V shape formation. There were two monsters at the front, ready to pump at any player coming near them.
'Brendy, how long is the cooldown of your stealth skill once you cancel it?' Bloom suddenly asked in team chat.
'The mighty Bloom doesn't know a thing, god bless me!' Brendy bellowed, sarcastically commenting on Bloom's question.
'Just answer him,' Gored interfered, starting to feel quite annoyed as well from this assassin hard to deal with behavior.
'One second, but the duration will be decreased by half,' he said, unwillingly, as he couldn't treat Gored like he was dealing with Bloom.
'Good,' Bloom said, 'I want you to show yourself just at the rear of them, and then disappear,' he said in the chat, 'as for DPS, maintain positions until the monsters disturb their formation. As for the Wizard, use your skills only once, then stop using them.'
The instructions he said were very detailed, as he tried to use the monsters' formation against themselves, which was a very nice strategy. Everyone commended this in their minds, but said nothing, while Brendy was much more annoyed by this.
'What if I got hit? My Hp can't last long under their attacks, and once I get hit, I can't trigger my stealth again except after three seconds.'
Bloom didn't like that blabber nonsense. He could reply in many ways, but he decided to show his magnanimity here.
'Catch this,' Bloom sent in the team chat, as everyone looked in curiosity, in a mere reaction to Bloom and Brendy, like they would exchange the item in the open like this.
