It's that time of the year again. Febuary 14th is known as Valentine's Day to most people around the world. In Maizuru Naval Base, it is also known as the day the kitchens turn into a warzone. Almost a hundred shipgirls take turns and scramble to the kitchens to make the best chocolate. They would then distribute the chocolates around to each other and to me.

In Japan, there are two types of Valentine's Day Chocolate, Giri (Obligatory) Chocolate and Honmei (True Feelings) Chocolate. Until last year, I would receive mostly Giri Chocolate. I think there was some Honmei Chocolate mixed in, but I never knew. Last year, I received my first official Honmei Chocolate from Zuihou. This year, I would be receiving more Honmei chocolate. The thought of receiving more of such chocolates this year excites me.

"I wonder what kind of chocolates would I receive this year~?"

"What's with that creepy grin?" (Kagerou)

A girl of average height and brown hair tied into twintails with white ribbons stood in front of my table. She wore a blazer-like uniform jacket above her white shirt and bike shorts under her skirt. This girl is the first ship of the Kagerou-class destroyers, Kagerou. She was staring at me with cautious eyes.

"Oh. Kagerou. You done with yours?"

"Yeah. And I kind of don't want to give this to you after seeing that." (Kagerou)

"Oh come on. Don't be like that."

"Yeah yeah. Here." (Kagerou)

Kagerou gave me a pink box with a small ribbon tied at the corner.

"Happy Valentine's. The same as always, Giri Chocolate." (Kagerou)

"I know that. At least let me fantasize."

"Oho~ I wonder what would Zuihou-san do if she heard that." (Zuihou)

Kagerou left the office. She really does on her sisters, especially Shiranui. Shiranui is basically the opposite of Kagerou. While Kagerou is cheerful and optimistic, Shiranui is serious stoic. She is also bloodthirsty when it comes to fighting Abyssals, just like Yuudachi.

After Kagerou, the rest of the chocolates came flowing in. Even Rei gave me hers, though she didn't state whether it was Giri or Honmei. She was blushing like mad though.

Since the girls took turns to make their chocolates, I should be receiving my Honmei Chocolates soon. It should be Zuihou's, Zuihou-chan's and Shigure's turn to use the kitchen by now. I would know, since I was the one who sceduled them to be the last. I'm kind of curious how would they make their chocolates. I know Zuihou tried to mix some weird concotion into hers two years but was stopped by Shouhou. I'm kind of expecting Zuihou-chan to do the same. I have never seen Shigure cook before. I mean, she did help my mom with the cooking back at my house but I didn't really pay attention since I was chatting with my dad. I'm really curious how Shigure looks like in the kitchen. Maybe I should pay them a visit. That way, I can sate my curiousity, and make sure the twins don't mix in anything weird.

If I go in, I may make them nervous. It's better if I just peek from the outside through the window.

Cute! Shigure looks so cute. She is wearing a frilly pink apron. Even her white eyepatch has red heart on it. Zuihou is wearing a white apron above her miko outfit while Zuihou-chan wore a yellow apron above her hoodie and skirt. Eh? Isn't that Zuihou's alternate outfit? Did Zuihou gave away hers? No. If she did, the size would be too large for Zuihou-chan's small body. The hoodie and skirt fits her perfectly.

From what I'm seeing, Shigure and Zuihou-chan are the only ones preparing the chocolate while Zuihou instructs them. I guess Zuihou already finished hers? She is a more experienced cook compard to the other two after all. Hmm... Doesn't seem like the twins added anything weird into the bowl of melted chocolate. I'm satisfied for now. Let's just wait for them to finish up. While waiting, I can feast on the chocolates the others gave me since this morning. I should have enough cooling tea. Right?

"Admiral. Happy Valentine's Day!" (Zuihou, Shigure, Zuihou-chan)

The three of them presented the chocolates to me. Zuihou-chan packed hers in heart-shaped box. Shigure had her dog-shaped chocolates packed in one of those plastic bags. The one's that can be decorated with a ribbon on top. Zuihou's had hers packed in a small box, which is unusual as she usually packs her chocolates in a heart-shaped box like Zuihou-chan's.

"Thank you. Can I eat it now?"

"S-sure." (Shigure)

"U-unn..." (Zuihou-chan)

The first one is Shigure's. I untied the ribbon and opened up the bag. As soon as I bit into the dog-shaped chocolate, something sweet and gooey filled my mouth.

"Honey?"

"Y-yes. Admiral must have eaten a lot of chocolates by now. So I thought something sotthing would be good." (Shigure)

Huh~ She put in quite a bit of thought while making these. I licked the residue of my fingers before cleaning them with a tissue. I placed my now-cleaned hand on Shigure's head,

Next is Zuihou's one. Eh? It's... bitter. It's not the very strong type, but still, this is different from what she usually makes. Did she make a mistake? Should I point it out to her?
