Outcast Hunter

The day when Leo's Mom will have an accident have come. Leo avoided this day to come, as much as he can. But, no matter how hard you try to change the past, you'll never succeed.

That day'a when Leo decided to become a hunter and tell it to his mother.

He thought of changing the past and his past mistakes, by not telling her mother that he'll become a hunter.

He also remembered the accident happened, when her mother's going to the grocery store.

"Leo, Tom, I am going to buy groceries, we're out of stocks"

Leo immediately presented himself to buy the things his mother wants.

"Mom, I'll go! Let me do this"

Leo took the grocery list from her mother and also the money..

"You're so energetic today. What's gotten into you, Leo?"

"I just want you to relax, Mom. You're always pampering us, let us do the favor this time"

Leo went on his way with a happy expression on his face, to the grocery store.

"This way, Mom will not die"

Leo bought all of the things on the list. Leo was still happy, by the time he arrived in their house.

Leo heard Tom was sobbing and was calling out for his mother.

"Mom! Mom! Sob, sob, Mom, please, wake up!"

Leo hurriedly opened the door and saw his younger brother, embracing their mother that was lying dead on the floor.

"No, no, no, no, no, no, mo! Mom! What happened, Tom?!"

He came to aid his mother and checked her pulse. She's all bloodied and her wrist was cut. Leo immediately knew that his mother's dead.

"I don't know! Sob, I was on my room, when I heard a loud thud in the kitchen"

Tom was wiping his tears off and Leo's tears began running down his face.

"Mom! Why did you do this?!"

He cried his eyes out and screamed on top of his lungs.

Seeing his mother dead, by killing herself was more painful, than it was when she had an accident.

"I-I... what did I do wrong this time?! Why did Mom had to kill herself?!"

And, he's back again to when his mother's about to have an accident.

"Leo, Tom, I'll go to the grocery store to stacks things"

This time, Leo insisted on coming with his mother.

"M-Mom, I'll go with you!"

"Really?! Let's go then"

They went on their way to the grocery store. Leo took another path to the store and avoided the road, where his mother had an accident.

"You've been so energetic these fast few days Leo, why is that? Did something good happened?"

His mother had a smile on her face, but seeing her like that, it just made Leo more sadder than he is.

He lowered his head and answered his mother.

"I've always been like this, aren't I?"

There was a hostage-taking happening at a bank. The robber's been cornered by the police and has nowhere to go. His only escape is to hostage a civilian and have the police let him go.

Leo was too preoccupied at that time thinking about his mother, he didn't notice the robber was going their way.

"D-don't follow me! Or else I'll shoot her!"

The robber was taking a few steps backward. The police's sniper had found a position and was ready to fire.

"I said stop following us!"

The robber pointed his gun towards the policemen and the sniper fired a shot. The robber was shot in his shoulder and his right arm swung, pulling the trigger.

The gun was aimed to Leo, when it was fired. He came to it when he heard the gunshot and saw his mother had jumped in front of him.

The bullet pierced her head and she was dead on the spot.

She falls to the ground and Leo hurried to her aid.

"Mom?! Hey, Mom?! AhhHhHh!!!"

He lashed out and glared dagger at the shot robber. The hostage had already escaped and the robber was wobbling.

"Hey! Do you know what you just did?! You just fucking killed my Mom!"

Leo grabbed the robber's neck and tightened his grip. He was still not satisfied and even used his other hand.

"Die, die, die, die, die!"

He tightened his grip on the robber even more, until his mouth was foaming and later blood came out of his mouth.

Break!

He broke the robber'a neck and let go of the dead man.

'Mom, I'm sorry! It's all my fault!'

"Leo?! Leo?!"

His Mother was calling out to him, for he was spacing out again, thinking what happened.

"Uh, yes! You're going to the grocery store!"

His mother was surprised by his answer. She haven't told them that she was going to the grocery store, but Leo had already knew.

"How did you know?"

"Uh, I saw that our fridge and other things are already out, so I had a hunch"

"Oh, is that it. I'm going to now then"

'What should I do?! If I try to present myself, Mom would kill herself and if I accompany her, she'll also die. How about I stop her and postponed it to tomorrow?'

His mother was about to leave, when Leo stopped her mom, by calling out to her.

"Mom!"

His mother looked back and asked him what it was.

"Uh, why don't you go to the grocery store tomorrow and rest for the rest of the day"

His mother frowned.

"You know I can't do that Leo. Who will do all the work and chores?"

"I'll do it, so, just please!"

His mother can't resist their request.

Leo took care of all the chores and the works that needs to be done. He didn't let his mother do any work and pampered her like a Queen.

Night time hits, Leo had already prepared their dinner and the three of them ate together.

Time to sleep. Every one of them had gone to their own rooms.

'I guess it's okay now. Doing it this way was the best idea'

Leo closed his eyes and he fell into a deep slumber.

Leo was hearing someone crying and was in front of him, it was Tom. His little brother was trying to wake him up.

"Brother! Brother! Sob, brother!"

Leo opened his eyes and saw Tom. Leo rubbed his eyes and asked Tom.

"What is it?"

Tom was still sobbing.

"Mom, Mom,"

"What about Mom?!" Leo asked.

"Mom, she's hang herself, sob, sob"

It hits him hard. This time Leo had a breakdown and lost his self.

He's blaming himself again, on what happened to his mother.

And after that, Leo was put in an endless loop, where his mother would always die and he would always be back to the day before she dies.

He witnessed his mother's countless death. Murdered, suicide, car accident, shot, stabbed and burned. All sorts of deaths had been tasted by his mother.

Leo couldn't take it anymore. He's lost his mind and was not coming up with an idea to save his mother.

"Mom, Mom, Mom"

Leo was muttering to himself like a dead man in the inside.

"Leo, remember what I said"

It was a memory of him when he was being lectured by his mother.

"Past mistakes shan't be change and can't be change. You live on with your mistakes and take it with you as a lesson not to make the same mistakes again. And, don't always blame yourself for those mistakes. You need yo be stronger and smart. Remember don't blame yourself"

That memory gave Leo an idea of what he should have done a long time ago.

Leo, he repeated what had happened a long time ago. He told his mother that he's going to become a hunter too, like his father.

They had an argument, like what happened in the past and his mother leaved the house angry.

Leo followed her to and watched her get rammed by a car.

He approached his mother and placed her head on his lap.

"Mom, thank you for making me remember. Thanks to you, I know what I need to do now"

Leo had saw the face of the man, who was driving the car and the man that ran away from his responsibilities.

"Mom, you said to be strong and smart. Don't worry, from now on, I'll raise my head and take the past with me as an experience and make sure not to make the same mistakes"

Leo opened his eyes. The Phoenix was silently staring at him.

"Good job on passing the test. I would ask any question"

Leo shed tears from his right eye, as his memories of the test flashed through his mind.

"What was the real purpose of the test?"

"I knew you'd ask that. The point of this test was to torture you, mentally and how you deal with losing your loved ones. For you to pass the test, you need to accept the reality of losing a family and to make you realized that everything that happened has a reason, so don't blame yourself"

Leo was nodding his head as he chucked his chin, thinking things thoroughly.

"But, is that really it? I feel like there's actually more to that"

"You're really sharp, but not quite right. Actually, there's nothing to achieve in completing the test, honestly, that was not a real test. Death told me to mess with you"

Leo's brows arched up.

"What the- that bastard!"

"Now, now, shall we proceed?"

Leo know what he needs to do. The Phoenix widened her wings and offered herself to Leo.

"This will hurt a bit"

"I'm prepared"

Leo took his sword out and pierced through the Phoenix's heart.

Her flames was further ignited and later the flames had extinguished.

"I shall die to be reborn"

That was her last words as she was about to die.

The Phoenix made a drop item.

Shadow Phoenix's very loud shout rang out as Leo revived it.

"Phew, I thought you"d become a human who can turn into a Phoenix"

The Phoenix replied and...

"Hmm, you mean, like this?"

The Phoenix turned into a human with no clothes, buck naked. Her private parts' being covered by her flames.

"EHHH?! GIVE ME A BREAK!"

The Phoenix, she looks like a pretty girl from one of those Greek Mythology movies.

She chuckled. Leo had some spare clothes with him, stored inside his inventory.

"Just put this on already!"

"You're saying that, but you're not even trying to avert your eyes. I didn't know that my master is quite the pervert"

Her lovely voice can't male Leo angry, even if he's being labeled as a pervert.

Clap! Clap! Clap!

"Congratulations on clearing the dungeon!"

The man clapping his hands was the man standing on guard in front of the dungeon's entrance.

"You should collect their souls and leave immediately. Any minute from now on, the dungeon will close"

The three of them leaved the dungeon and head for the Town's chief. The man said, Leo can claim his reward through the town"s chief.

"I hate being seen by the humans, so I'll do this instead of walking around"

She mixed herself to Leo's shadow. Leo could feel her underneath him.

Leo claimed his reward, along with the man. That man told him everything. He's the right-hand man of Grim and he's sent to protect the Phoenix from the other Humans.

Leo got an amount of 600 pure Plata for clearing the dungeon. The Phoenix made two drops, one for the town and one for him.

"I'll be in your care, Leo it is, right? Until we reach the Kingdom of Warlock"

Leo went straight to the slave shop. The town's chief also gave Leo a human pass, it has a lot of perks.

Leo, when they arrived at the Slaves Shop, he slapped them with his human pass and entered the shop.

"I've been waiting, sir Leo"

Rev called her maid and told her to bring out the slave, Leo chose.

"She's been patiently waiting for you"

The slave was brought in and Leo paid the 500 pure Plata to purchase her.

"Sir Leo, you should now forge a master and slave seal"

Leo grinned and took out his sword.
