Outcast Hunter

All of them had been woken up by Mist's whistle, who was standing guard and acting as a lookout. They all got up and was told that the demon army has already find them.

"This is a lot sooner than I had expected!"

It was past midnight. The only source of light was coming from the Moon and the candles an lamp lit by them.

"I can sense them. There's about a hundred or so"

In demons' right hand, there's a weapon and on their left hand was a torch, that gave away their position. But, small thing was ignored, because they think they have the upper hand, because they outnumbered Leo's group. Or maybe they were told not to worry, by their leader and were told that it would go without a hitch.

"Commander, what are your orders?! Our fellow demons are raring to go and have human meats for their breakfast!"

One word from him and all of the demons present at the forest would rush and will slaughter the humans inside..

"Can't you feel it?!" This commander is one of the official and a high-rank demon. The tension and aura of not just Leo, but also another two terrifying monsters were inside. "Acting Leader Wiriam, he lied to us! We will be fighting monsters!"

The demons' commander was cowering in fear.

"Why don't you put them to sleep instead, Aophy?"

She's in a bad mood because sleeping is a precious time for her. She turned into a phoenix. You know how bulls react when they are angry and you would often watch in some cartoon movies, when they breath out in anger. That's what happening to Aophy. Blue flames was coming out of her nose in anger.

"Set them aflame"

Aophy flew out of the window and she cast her skill to the demons that was hiding behind the trees of the forest.

'Heavenly Blue Flames'

Aophy spewed out fire where the demons were. That gradually consumed the trees and demons were caught in the fire.

"A Phoenix! Why is there an ancient monster with the humans?! Just who are they?!"

Instead of fighting, the demons ran away from the fire that had spread throughout the mountains. Aophy did not let them got away, the demons. He chased after them and kept blazing with fire until they were ashes and ashes, as well as the trees hit by the spreading fire.

When he saw that all the demons were dead, she quickly extinguished the fire, so that it would not spread further to the nearby Village.

Leo and the others just watched. Well, what else can they do if all the opponents are dead and ashes.

"Heh! I wouldn't dare interrupt her sleep from now on"

They have not slept since they woke up. So they continued on their way to the Kingdom of Fallonia. Aophy, she still forced to sleep, while hiding in Leo's shadow. She said sleeping was essential for Phoenix and it would ruin her pretty image, if she ever lacks sleep.

"What a girl. What about you Devi, aren't you going to take a nap? I can carry you whilst you sleep"

And that would be treating her like a child and that was the least thing she would do.

"I had enough sleep, and we cats can go on with little sleep"

She would be thinking twice about Leo's offer if she could turn herself into a cat. But, that won't do since she's a demi-human.

Dawn will soon come and all of them was tired and sleepy. They arrived at a Town. All of the demons were preparing their things and items they are selling.

"Let's find somewhere to rest"

The demons of the Town isn't that wealthy and there's a lot of stray demons living in the streets. Leo's company was hiding in the shadows of the Town and looking for a place to stay. Demons and humans don't have that much of difference when it comes to appearance. You can only distinguish demons from humans by their smell. Demons smells like sulfur, that's the mark that someone is a demon.

They could blend in, but, what about Devi, she's a demi-human, whose appearance is so different than any normal humans or demons. I just have a question, if there are demi-humans, are there also demi-demons? Forget it.

Leo's luck still has not run out. He was able to find an abandoned house, not too far away from the Town. Inside the abandoned house, there were still hot food and a glass of water placed on top of a tray.

Devi used her keen senses and smelled demon's sulfuric scent. A demon has been recently there and leaved a few seconds before they found the house.

"Lalalala~ after a long time, I will be able to eat something nice! Thank you, big brother!"

It was a voice of a little girl, around the age of 6 to 8. Her small voice was nearing the house, almost at the door.

"I made a looooooooot for you. So, make sure to eat your fill"

Her big brother had fetched her from her playground. Leo and the others didn't bother hiding, instead, they waited for the siblings to enter the house.

'I thought this is an abandoned house. One look and you'll assume that this house is'

There's no chairs, table, or things that a house always contains. Well, there's those spider's web and lots of bugs were everywhere.

"I'll eat a whooooooleeeee lots of what you made, big brother!"

The doorknob clicks and the door opened. The siblings figure became visible to them and Leo's group was going for a surprise attack.

They came to a halt when the siblings face and appearance became clear. The two was wearing an extremely dirty clothes and there was dirt on their face, no boots.

The boy saw them and he immediately put his younger sister behind him. He has a small, beat up knife which don't seem that sharp to cut anyone. He pointed his knife to them and was trembling.

"Who are you?! What are you humans doing here?!"

With one glance and he knew that most of them were humans.

"I hate dealing with kids. Kenkage, you're old enough, you must have a few experience when it comes to child"

Who else find it hard dealing with someone's kid? Kids these days are all brats and spoiled.

Kenkage frowned, when he heard Leo said that he's old enough. And a thought crossed his mind.

'Do I look that old? I need to dye my hair ASAP!'

Kenkage tried to calmed the boy down and offered him some sweets.

"We're not here to hurt you. We were looking for a place to stay before we cross the border"

The shivering boy didn't believed an old man's word and tried to run away and shout out loud, when Leo moved swiftly to catch the two and covered their mouths.

Both were squirming and even tried to bite Leo's hand. Devi, she presented herself that she will convince the two and explain things to them. She looks like a kid too, that must be the reason on how she calmed them down.

The young girl's stomach growls. Devi picked up the tray of food and gave it to the hungry little girl.

As a token of reconciliation, Leo dug his hand into his pocket and took out a chocolate bar.

"You must be hungry too, here eat this"

The young boy was still wary of them, but he took the chocolate bar from Leo's hand and inspected what it was. Leo took out another chocolate bar and showed him how it's done.

"You turn it like this and open the cover, then you take a bite"

When the young boy saw that it's not poisonous to eat, he took a bite and after a few seconds, he had the brightest smile.

"This is delicious! Here, Min, have a bite too!"

He gave Min a bite and she was very delighted and she looks like she's having a lot of fun eating her food.

Someone had woken up and quickly leaved Leo's shadow.

"How come I'm only seeing this now? Why are you hiding something good for me, my pervert Master?"

Leo had just finished the last bite.

"Hehe... it's because this is my favorite, I don't just give it to anyone. And there's only a few of them"

Aophy made a body-check on Leo and she almost flip Leo over, just to find a chocolate bar.

"Where is it?! Ahh! I want to eat it too!"

She took glances over the small piece of chocolate bar left on the young boy's hand.

"Is this what you're looking for?" Leo waving the chocolate. "I'll give you this, if"

"If?!"

"If you'd let me sleep on your body, while you're on your phoenix form"

That's a big gamble for her. She don't let anyone touch her feathers and Leo wants to sleep using her fathers as a bed. That made her think twice. Will she let him sleep using her as a bed, or will she not.

"Ugh! Fine! But, just for one night, okay!"

Her irritated face was a sight for Leo. He threw her the chocolate bar and she caught it.

"I can always sleep on your bed feathers, every time I want"

His orders is absolute, one word from him and she can't refuse him anymore. Leo know how Aophy feels when she took her first bite of chocolate.

"I'm going out to buy some food to eat"

Leo took his leave and went back to the town. Kenkage tried to stop him, but he could not. He knew the danger of being outside.

Leo used Cloak an roamed around the Town. He couldn't find any store that sells food for Plata. What the demons want was weapons and other valuable things that can be use for fighting.

He continued to wander aimlessly, until he stumbled upon a store that takes Plata as a payment. Leo had a talk with him. He learned from the man that human merchants have access to the Demon Nation and they could enter and leave the Nation, anytime they want

The man got all his things and food he sells from a merchant. That's why he take Plata as a payment.

The man was generous enough to gave Leo a bargain, despite the poverty, experienced by the Nation.

The man's store is a few walks away from the sibling's house. He bought a lot and he also included the sibling for today's lunch.

Leo used Cloak for a second time and the broken system sent a notification.
