Outcast Hunter

Chapter 90 - 90: Warlock

At long last! Their three days journey to reach the border of both kingdoms paid off. Last night's event was spectacular. No, words can't explain how Leo felt as he saw the flowers bloomed and shone. Although all of the flowers had bloomed and all, it will only took one day for all of them to wither. It is an endless loop. The flowers after blooming would all die, but would leave a seed of their own. The seed will take care of itself, no need for humans to water it. Self-sufficient.

Leo and the other camped there and spent the night. They waited until morning before moving on to the Kingdom of Warlock. Everyone had a good night. They drink and ate Priscilla's secret specialty. I can't tell you lots what she made. It won't be a secret anymore if I told you..

"Okay everyone, this is our long-awaited! And at last we're back again!" Alexander said triumphantly. As if he had just won a war. A bit exaggerated.

Priscilla were happily watching the Predators' members. She moved closer to Leo who were currently eating the food she cooked. "They all look happy."

Gratin was included to the dishes she made for them. It became one of his favorite ever since his first time eating what she cooked.

"Don't you? I mean, this is like a dream come true for you, right?" He said as took another scoop of gratin.

"I'm happy. I think happier than them," that's what she said. But, Leo could still feel her anxiousness and the fear that lingers deep within her. It's just normal, anyone tends to get scared when it's one's life we're talking about. "I'm also worried. About myself... about us."

"You don't need to worry. I promised to your father, the king, that I will protect you. So rest assured as long as I'm around." His voice filled with so much confidence in himself as he delivered it in a sarcastic tone. Not arrogantly confident though.

---

"I need a hand here! There's more of them coming! Ren, where the hell are you?!"

Noreen, one of the four executives of the Predators. She's been there since day one, along with Ren, Zoan, Tiffany and Alexander. The five of them established the Predators. Through countless hardships and breakdowns. Foul-mouthed as she was, that's the thing that was bad when it's Noreen we're talking about. A steadfast woman, benevolent, and a skilled woman. As for how she looks. A woman in her late 20's had accomplished so much achievements. They say that fallonian women are usually shorter than men, though to her case, it's different. Her almost six foot flat height really stands out everywhere in the Fallonia. And anyone would not dare try to hit on her as she was physically fit but in a sexy way.

Zoan and Tiffany had died two years ago on the same journey. Lured by monsters trap, the two were slaughtered. It was really hard for Noreen, to accept the fact that two of her best friends died. She became overprotective when it comes to her comrades and friends. She would rather risk her own life than sacrifice others for her own sake.

Five minutes earlier...

"This is it, the Kingdom of Warlock!"

As soon as Leo set foot, he felt the immense, monstrous auras of countless monsters. Some of it were nearby. And as he sharpen his senses, thudding of footsteps became louder and louder.

"M-manticores! Incoming horde of manticore!"

Their group's spies spotted a bunch of manticores coming. One of the most forbidding of all mythical creatures, the manticore was a bloodthirsty quadruped that supposedly sported the head of a blue-eyed man, the auburn body of a lion and the stinging tail of a scorpion. The legend of this deadly hybrid first began with Greek authors such as Ctesias, who chronicled it in a book about India. Ctesias and others described the manticore as having three rows of teeth like a shark and a tuneful bellow that sounded like a trumpet. Most terrifying of all, it had an insatiable appetite for human flesh. After using its blistering speed to chase down its prey, the beast was said to slash at them with its claws or sting them with its tail before devouring them bones and all. According to Ctesias, the manticore was even capable of paralyzing or killing its victims from a distance by firing stingers from its tail “as if from a bow.”

Manticores saw their group. It fires stingers from a distance and used it blistering speed to knock its prey. Everyone were engaged in a battle against the manticores. Manticore's the weakest mythological monster you'll stumble upon in Warlock. Though they could be really dangerous if a person's outnumbered and has no knowledge about them.

Leo noticed something about the manticores' behaviour after they killed all of them.

'They weren't trying to attack us, it seems like they were running away. But from whom?'

And that was when he realized and sensed an incoming powerful aura. It was getting closer and closer. Thanks to his keen senses, he could sense it about a couple hundred meters.

Back to present time. More and more monsters kept coming their way and soon, everyone realized that the monsters were running away.

(Hello guys. Thanks for reading this and for sticking into this. This story has a lot of bad reviews and such since I copied some of Solo Leveling and I'm not denying. Though that wasn't my intention. Well, no point in justifying it. I just wanna say thanks HAHA. You'd better write down a review and use that powerstone. Even if this story sucks. Oh, one more thing, this story will be ending in another arc. The tournament arc, right, that one. I'll settle all of it there. I just really want to create a story of my own. But before I start another story after this story ends, I might have to end my another story first. I really sucked at explaining things. So sorry about that. And my grammar's not that good, right? Just bear with it...)
