Chapter 14 - 14 Measurement Pillar
Crawling towards the meeting point for the Recruit tier. Valoris was a little uncomfortable, this was the only event he had no control over. There is nothing overt he can do to better his rank, he just has to let it happen and be measured.
Arriving Valoris gets his first look at his competitors. Most are low-grade beasts like himself with 3 or 4 that are a higher evolution. The one that sticks out the most to him a small female Wyrm. She has black scales with blood-red horns and fangs, without even asking Valoris knows who she is.
She is Rell, daughter of the Alpha of the Bloody Fang clan. The first Ancestor level bloodline purity in 4 generations.
Another beast that captures his attention is an adolescent ape. With thick gray fur and large muscles, he seemed to be glaring at Valoris the moment he went to let the officials know he was the participant for the Crimson Flame Tribe.
The last one that caught his eye was a dark brown scorpion that everyone seemed to consciously avoid. Covered in scars it was clear he had fought countless times.
"All participants please follow me. The first match will begin shortly." said the official the old horned owl before leading them to the center of the arena.
At the center was a large intricately carved pillar. It had one hundred segments in total and a large metal plate on one side.
As the recruit tier participants stepped on the arena for the first time they were amazed to see how big the arena is, and that they were being watched by thousands of beasts.
" First is Marsal from the Shifting Sand Tribe please step towards the Pillar and put some of your blood on the plate to activate it."
The scarred scorpion steps forward and uses one of his claws to cut himself and smears some of his blood on the plate.
A bright light suddenly emanated from the Pillar and his blood is absorbed into the pillar. finally, the light dims with 78 segments of the pillar light up. On the palate, it reads
Name: Marsall
Race: Sand Scorpion
Bloodline Purity: peak Mid blood
Health: average, several small hidden injuries
Physique: above average
Cultivation: average
Will: Genius
Potential 78/100.
Final evolution: Manticore King
"Marsall final score 78. please come back next is Shell." said the officiant
Valoris looked at the crowd's reactions and saw that several of them were very surprised and the Shifting Sand Tribe was very happy. It appeared that 78 was a very high score. He then notices that the ape was glaring at him again, confused Valoris could not understand why this ape seemed to hate him until it was the ape's turn to go up.
"Tarn from the Silverback Tribe" as soon Valoris heard what tribe Tarn was from he figured out why he hated Valoris. The Silverback Tribe was the tribe Tremon was leader of. Valoris learned later from Mezal that after losing Tremon as their leader several smaller tribes attacked them stealing causing the Silverback tribe to nearly being destroyed.
Tarn did the same as the others smearing some of his blood on the Pillar. After several minutes this showed
Name: Tarn
Race: Iron Ape
Bloodline: low Pureblood
Health: decent
Physique: average
Cultivation: above average
Will: below average
Potential 84/100
Final evolution: Silverback Gorilla King
After his score showed the crowd burst in applause as so far this was the highest score seen from the recruit tier.
Valoris was surprised, looking at the Tarn you would think from his muscles he was a Body Refiner like him but from his stats, it appeared he focused on cultivation more than anything else.
"Valoris from Crimson Flame Tribe"
Surprised he was next Valoris nervously crawls towards the Pillar passing Tarn who looked at him contemptuously as if assured of his superiority. Arriving at the Pillar Valoros bit his claw and smeared his blood across the plate. After a few minutes of torturous waiting for his stats showed
Name: Valoris
Race: Storm Kobold
Bloodline: Peak Mid blood
Health: Vigorous
Physique: Demon
Cultivation: below average
Will: Monster
Potential: 94/100
final evolution: Storm Drake

Silence covered the spectators and competitors as Valoris's score was shown. Until something started laughing hysterically in the crowd. It was an old Chamrosh with a body of a hound and the head and wings of an Eagle.
The Chamrosh's laughing broke the spell of silence and they all began to yell and chant. None were as loud as the section for the Crimson Flame Tribe.
As Valoris crawled back he felt like a weight that had been pulling him down was finally taken off. Being thrown away at birth weighed on him which fueled him to become stronger.
Lost in his own thoughts Valoris almost forgot that the person he was most worried about had yet to go up until she was called up as well. As she crawled towards the Pillar Valoris was curious if he would be able to beat her score.
Rell followed the same procedure as everyone else and following the wait her stats showed up nearly causing everyone to pass out.
