Overlord: Start from the Goblin Lair

Chapter 21 Dinner in Fromm Town

Ron has hardly had a good rest since time traveling. This night was no exception.

The difference is, this time it was because I was too excited.

Learning magic in this world is no more difficult than the profession in the previous life, spells are no more difficult to learn than Latin, and symbols are no more difficult to remember than structural formulas. As a systematic knowledge, everything has traces to follow.

The moonlight shines on the window lattice, projecting a figure. It was a tiefling wrapped in a blanket and making do on the windowsill for the night.

When daylight came, several people were nervously preparing for possible battles. Ron went out and bought an ordinary notebook to use as a temporary spell book, and also bought some materials.

"Those people from the Ocher Tribe are still downstairs." Ron came back to discuss the situation with his companions, "And on the street, I also saw some people from other northern tribes."

"That Dire Wolf tribe?" Ivy can be said to be extremely disgusted with those guys.

"I don't know, but I didn't see that Harlek," Ron shook his head slightly, "But no matter which tribe it is from, Quest is right. It doesn't look like there should be peace tonight."

This tension lasted until the banquet hosted by the mayor began. In the town square, several long tables were neatly arranged, and vendors selling various foods and items were dotted around the outside. In the crowd, Ron also saw the blacksmith from the blacksmith shop, the tailor from the tailor shop, Lavinia and Bunnie.

However, the latter two were not present as vendors, but as guests.

"Oh, hi! Ron, and Ivy, you are here too!" Today, Bunnie was dressed particularly solemnly. She was wearing a set of white priest robes, holding an oak staff in both hands, and even Embellished with bright lights. When she saw Ron and others, she immediately pulled Lavinia and ran towards them.

However, due to the height of the halfling, Ron really couldn't feel much of the sacredness and majesty of the priest in her. She looked like a cute doll.

"If you dare to tell me, I will never give you any discount again."

Lavinia raised her head and glanced at Ron. The ghostly halfling could communicate telepathically with any creature within nine meters, and her voice immediately rang in Ron's heart.

It seemed like she had similar feelings, otherwise she wouldn't have reminded Ron like this.

"Ah, Bunnie! The lucky lady (Tymora) must be very favoring her followers, because she looks so pious today!"

Ron immediately began to perform in an exaggerated manner, but he probably lacked the performance skills, which did not make Bunny feel any happier.

"Thank you, and I hope the Smiling Goddess will bless you all." Bunni smiled lightly, "He likes those who are extremely skillful and courageous the most. I just want to be able to listen to his teachings and gospel."

Tymora is not a strict goddess, and her teachings and beliefs are equally tolerant. Therefore, Ron is not stepping on the thunder, but just speaking very laymanly.

"Being able to host His church in such a remote place, and as a halfling - of course you are also the lady's attention." Ivy smiled and nudged Ron with her elbow, and quickly smoothed things over.

The halfling priest thought for a while, then finally nodded and smiled from the bottom of his heart.

While chatting here, Ron heard the deep and powerful voice of the northern barbarians not far away.

"It's so boring!" Sera complained to the tribesmen out of boredom, "When does the banquet start?!"

"Indeed, my stomach has already started growling!" Bald Olaf agreed, "The food and wine are clearly on the table, why can't we eat right away?!"

"Barbarians," an elf glanced at them, his tone full of contempt, "You should at least learn basic etiquette! The master here hasn't appeared yet!"

This elf Ron and the others have met before, living in room 203 of the tavern. It seems that he is also planning to join the pioneering team.

"Shut up, you thin bamboo pole!" Sera growled threateningly, "or I will tear your head out of your cavity!"

"That's one of the people Quest mentioned to us yesterday," Ivy pretended to soothe her arms and whispered to Ron amidst the friction of armor, "He, like Quest, came from From the other side of delusion.”

"Quest said he probably represented the interests of other lords."

At this time, a group of guards surrounded a short and fat man and walked onto the podium: "Quiet everyone! Quiet!"

"I am very happy that you can attend the dinner hosted by me. It is a great honor! Please allow me to express my gratitude to you again!"

The short, fat man was dressed gorgeously. He wore a large gemstone ring on his right hand, and he habitually rubbed it while talking.

"I am the twelfth mayor of the town of Fromm, Victor Fromm - according to our tradition, the person who succeeds the mayor must change his surname to the name of the town to show his willingness to serve the town to the best of his ability. and the determination of the townspeople. I dare not boast, but I am indeed working hard for this.”

"The ring he is wearing is a magic item for amplification. The volume can be adjusted manually." Lavinia introduced to Ron in a low voice.

This man is probably one of the few people here who can speak a common language with her.

"However," Victor changed the topic, "Although I am very reluctant to admit it, I have to regretfully tell you that my ability may be about to reach its limit - as you have heard and seen every day, we have gathered too many people here. Refugees, and the turnover capacity of the town of Flåm is limited, we cannot support so many people.”

Immediately there was a loud commotion below. Many of them came from refugee camps, so they naturally had a lot of reactions to Victor's words - ranging from confusion to anger.

"Quiet, please be quiet!" Victor's voice was obviously much louder, and he finally suppressed the noise below, "But I will never abandon you! Since the town of Fromm was founded, there has never been such a tradition!"

"So I held this banquet and sincerely invite everyone to the banquet to discuss the follow-up development. I have an idea!"

"If the town of Fromm is too small to accommodate such a large population, we should acquire more land! And to the south of here, there happens to be such an area with rich resources, complex terrain, and... It has never been truly conquered, so people who have been there gave it a name: Delusion Land to express the wishful thinking of those who wanted to occupy it.”

"But from now on, I hope to break this nonsense! We should strive for more living space, instead of being frightened by rumors and stories - I am willing to help you form a pioneering team and conquer the fantasy land!"

"All problems will be solved!"
