Indeed, what Anubis thought is right. This action was only possible with Sai's skills. Determination of Steel that allowed him to move at beyond-superhuman speed, Calm and Collected which allowed him to assess every situation with composure, Valor which allowed him to negate confusion, pressure, and increase his melee damage, and Godspeed which drastically increased his speed complementing his Breath of Thunder Techniques. Anubis possessed Development and Speed & Strength Development which made it one of the most dangerous combat-oriented Stand. The former which allowed Anubis to remember any attack launched against it and counter it. While the latter increased its speed and power every second of the fight. It remembered the Breath of Lightning, First Form: Thunderclap and Flash: Eight-Fold, Godspeed, and it will never work against Anubis anymore.

Suffering from the Breath of Lightning, First Form: Thunderclap and Flash: Eight-Fold, Godspeed's backlash, Sai froze for a second and Anubis didn't miss that moment and initiated its counterattack.

Seeing Anubis rushing to him, Sai operated his brain rapidly. Using Discerning Eye, Human Observation, Knowledge of the Deprived, Natural Insight, Hypothetical Reasoning, Mind's Eye (True), Clairvoyance, and Wisdom of Crisis in tandem with his knowledge about Shigure Kosaka's abilities to deduce Anubis' next move.

Sai reached the conclusion on time and ceased any body movement and entered a defensive stance. In response, Anubis executed his assault.

Anubis' Kōsaka Ryū: Chigiri Mantan was defended by Sai's Breath of Water, Eleventh Form: Dead Calm. After the clash of both techniques, Sai was already prepared to launch another attack.

Both are half-inch to death, but their eyes are still alive. Both struggled to stand up. And it should be obvious to these two, that this will be their last exchange. Thus, the two will be forced to break their limits. Anubis no longer have trumped card since she already used Soto Kyorenzan. However, Sai, on the other hand, reached the perfect conditions to use his absolute trump card. He is on dire straits, and he lost his normal surviving chances, on the top of that there's a long distance between him and Anubis.

He's free to use Annihilation Wish and Insight in the Jaws of Death! The former reduces his non-existent survival chance in exchange for a drastic increase in speed, while the latter gives him the inspiration while being on the verge of death ensuring his success rate is high. The other advantage for Sai, is that he has Battle Continuation (EX), which allowed him to fight while have such injuries.

Anubis is shocked from this sight. An already dead human is able to stand up and is about to end its life. His sky-blue eyes are glowing menacingly, akin to a Grim Reaper that showed up to take its life. The killing intent that Sai released is concentrated to Anubis that rendered her unable to do anything in horror.

(A man with such tenacity and obsession. And his killing intent that tells that number of people he killed reached beyond millions. No wonder the Supreme Being wanted him dead. In that case, I can't allow myself to do nothing and let him kill me.) (Anubis)

Shaking the fear induced by Sai's killing intent, she stands up to do the last strike. However, Sai's speed which is boosted by many skills surpassed her reaction time and before she knew, Sai already passed her. After a few moments, the Anubis' blade disappeared, that is the only description. Sai performed absolutely fast slashes that literally disintegrated the blade of Anubis sword only leaving the area behind the Rain-guard. Then, Sai collapsed on the floor.

Anubis felt satisfied of being able to accomplish her mission before she dies.

Or at the very least, she thinks she was able to kill Sai.
