Pale Flesh

As Aiden stumbled out of bed, the blaring sound of his alarm clock filled the room. He groaned, rubbing his tired eyes and trying to shake off the remnants of his strange dreams from the previous night. As he stood in front of the mirror, ready to begin his day, he couldn't help but notice a glint of silver streaks in his once-dark hair.

Confusion filled his mind as he tried to make sense of this unexpected change. Was it a result of the brutal events he had experienced last night? Or was it a consequence of his newfound powers?

His thoughts were interrupted by a notification on his phone. The word "EVOLUTION" flashed on the screen, accompanied by a percentage.

It read: "ⓘEVOLUTION- 10%"

Aiden's heart skipped a beat as he realized that this transformation was far from over.

Fear and curiosity warred within him as he contemplated what lay ahead. Would he be able to regain control over his humanity, or would he succumb to the whispers of his newly awakened instincts?

Aiden couldn't ignore the hunger stirring inside him, reminding him of the ravenous desire he had felt in the alleyway last night. He knew he needed to find a way to satiate this hunger without losing his grip on reality.

As he made his way downstairs to the kitchen, his blood-red eyes caught sight of the open fridge. Amongst the ordinary food items, his gaze landed on a brain nestled on a plate. Its presence triggered an overwhelming urge within him, urging him to consume it.

Aiden's hand trembled as he reached out, torn between his longing for normalcy and the whispers of his instincts. The battle for control raged on in his mind, but he knew that he had to make a choice. Aiden knew that this moment would define the path he would embark on.

Taking a deep breath, he closed the fridge and stepped away. For now, he would resist the urge to consume the brain, choosing instead to seek solace in his own humanity.
