Paying The Price

Chapter 40 - I Actually Moved Here.

Zach walked to Diana and the dumbstruck guys.

This was the Zach. The Zach Wayne had constantly heard about, the Zach Wayne had complained about to Leon and Gabriel, the Zach Pearl had talked endless about.

"Zach? What are you doing here?" Diana asked in confusion. Zach was supposed to be in Denn City, in their last conversation he never mentioned anything like coming to visit.

"I actually moved here." Zach's British accent was extremely pleasing to the ears, it made two girls who just passed by when he spoke blush and giggle.

"You moved here? When?" She was expecting to hear him say he came for a visit, but move? This exceeded her expectations.

"Yesterday. Surprise! I did try to call you yesterday but it didn't go through, so I called Nikki and she said you rushed to New York for an emergency. Anyway I just came to buy some household items over there and I didn't know I would bump into you. Welcome back."

What the heck, he moved here. This is bad, this is really bad, from one bad news to another.

Leon and Gabriel panicked, they felt really bad for their friend Wayne. It was as thought Zach was waiting for the appropriate time to come, just when the daughter missing thing and the wife strongly insisting for a divorce happened. On top of that his love rival got potentials, he's probably the kind of man Diana longs for.

"Umm..... well..... welcome to Titan city too and you've got a lot of explaining to do. Why didn't you tell me earlier that you had plans to move here?" Diana said after recovering from her shock.

Gabriel cleared his throat to indicate that they were still here.

Diana got the signal "Oh.... Zach this is..." She paused and looked into Wayne's eyes, she didn't know how to introduce him now.

Wayne felt a sharp pain in his heart.

They're not divorced yet and she's already acting like this. A strong urge to pounce on Zach came to his mind but he had to try to leave a good impression of himself especially to his daughter.

Diana sighed slowly then said with great regret "This is my husband....., Wayne."

"Nice to meet you Wayne." Zach greeted with a smile. His hands were full so he couldn't reach out for a handshake.

Good thing he couldn't cause Wayne may have taken that opportunity and break his hand.

"Are you on your way home now?" Zach asked Diana.

"Yes I am, I was just about to hail a taxi."

"No need, I didn't park far."

"Zach, you just moved here from another city and you already have a car."

"You know I hate hailing taxis, but I did prepare it before moving here."

Zach led Diana to his car as they chatted away, Pearl wrapped her arm around his neck grinning all the way. They looked like a perfect family of three and Wayne could only watch them leave.

He had so many horrible plans for this Zach but he couldn't execute them now.

No one in the world felt as terrible as he did right now.

"Man, you are losing and you are losing hard." Gabriel commented as he saw the perfect match leave.
