“I miss you too babe but can’t help it. Being a close friend of your boss has its perks and cons both. He loves to bring me along on his business trips and I can’t reject him as his subordinate. Be good and wait till I return okay? I’ll make up for it all.” Lu Cheng dotingly replied.

“Hmm. Okay. But come soon.” Pouting but understanding his reasons, Xi Jingfei said softly.

“Next time you better bring me to your friend. I want to ask him if he’s planning to marry you or something. Why does he bring you everywhere he goes? Humph!”

Talking to him in her ever sweet voice, the girl continued to behave spoilt and demanded affection. Her bodyguard silently choked upon hearing her words. His employer was fantasizing a BL after all.

“Feifei, it’s only a business trip. My boss clearly likes girls and has no other sexual preferences. Even at the moment, he is indulged in women. So you better not exaggerate.”

“Fine. I’ll believe you. But you should bring me some gifts so I won’t look for your boss.”

“Okay. Okay, my self satisfied and self inviting princess. This butler is at your command”

To this, Xi Jingfei gave a blushful sweet smile.

It became harder for single people like her bodyguard to even look at his employer. But not being able to show his feelings, he remained seated with stiff back and eyes on road and nowhere else.

As she got home, she excused herself from the call being dead tired. Without eating her dinner, she simply lied on the sofa with no care of the world what so ever and dozed off. . Her bodyguard left after dropping her back home.

It was midnight, when a deafening sound of two cars crashing into each other, was heard outside the house. Soon followed the voices of some men yelling and shouting and taps of their feet as if running around.

Xi Jingfei’s watchman quickly got alert and looked around. He could feel something was off but couldn’t tell. Men marching in the middle of the night was definitely not some good omen. So he immediately came to alert her. But the girl was in her deep slumber so didn’t pay much attention to his words and brushed him off saying,

“I’m not planning some coup in the ancient times that my army would be marching in the middle of the night. Maybe some thief would have come so people are trying to catch him. Chill. I’m fine. Let me sleep.” Half asleep girl said before closing the door to go back to the sofa.

“This girl. How can she not care her safety even once. Even if there’s some apocalypse, she might sleep it away. Haa! God bless this innocent heart and keep her safe from all the chaos.”

Though concerned but having nothing to rebuke, the watchman went back to his designated place. He looked around again. Something felt off. But there was no difference except for the voices to get distant. With no one around quietness crept in the vicinity once again.

By then someone had trespassed the house fencing and hid himself in her living room after entering from an open French window on the other side of the door. Xi Jingfei didn’t notice having slipped to her dream world.

The person came closer and tapped her hand. No response. He repeatedly tapped but still no response. As the person looked around, the living room was next to the dining hall. On the dinner table, there was a glass of water. Helpless to Xi Jingfei’s death like nap, the person brought the glass and emptied the whole on her face. Being pranked in the middle of the night, Xi Jingfei woke up with a start. Her eyes darted arrows to the person in front of her.
