Pokemon - A Real Story

To say the day was eventful would be an understatement. They had already finished their quest, submitted it and now were eating lunch. 'There is a small line of difference between bravery and foolishness.' And he didn't know in which category the Mankey group should be. They had kidnapped a baby Bulbasaur. He didn't know what they had planned to do with it. For ransom? For revenge? Or did they wanted to study Bulbasaur to fight its group later? 'Nah, they are not that intelligent' thought Axel.

This was the first time, Axel had seen a Bulbasaur. Bulbasaur was not a rare sight to see, but it was his first time. And that green Pokemon had made quite an impression on him.

They fought with the group of Mankey and Primeape. A and B handled Primeape while the others took care of Mankey. It was not a hard fight as they were already used to their fighting style. Bulbasaur was not heavily injured but it had lots of Mankey's scratches on its body. It now seemed to be afraid of everyone. The feeling of getting kidnapped for the first time, may not be pleasant.

After some time, the poor Pokemon calmed down as Nidoran started patting on its back and Charmander started its signature pranks on it. He then identified it through the system and found out that it had 'brown' potential. If it was any other Pokemon, he would have caught it. But this was Bulbasaur. The overlord of the forest was Venusaur and this was Venu family. So he could not do it.

The group decided to return Bulbasaur to his area. Bulbasaur already seemed to be comfortable with Axel and now was sitting on its shoulders. This seemed to be its favorite spot now. When they reached the area, a lot of Bulbasaur came running towards it. Our Bulbasaur went to greet them. 'Must be its friends' the group thought.

After some time, the group was led to the place where there were 2 Venusaur. The pressure emitted by those 2 Pokemons was immense. The group settled down and then one of the Venusaur spoke "I would like to thank you. You have saved my…. Our child from those horrible Mankey." It was a male voice. The voice didn't seem too strict or void of feelings but was actually sweet and a bit high-pitched.

But the Crazies didn't even care about it. They were already astonished because it was not every day that you could be in the presence of King-ranked Pokemon. But then the other Venusaur spoke. This one seemed to be female and hearing them say 'our child' Axel had already figured out that they were the parents of Bulbasaur. The Pokemon said, "Well Venu family members live up to their reputation. This has further increased our cooperation. But since you had worked so hard with your life on the line, we will reward you. Tell me what are your d.e.s.i.r.es. If it is something we could do, we would not hesitate."

A asked for 'poison barb' for his Nidorina, B asked for 'miracle seed' for Vileplume. B's request was not granted, as miracle seed seemed to be important and very rare. So he also asked for 'poison barb'. When it came to K he said "I want a Bulbasaur on my team. I know I had to have a rare ranked Pokemon and be proficient in Aura before that. But after I do so, I want your support on choosing my Bulbasaur".

"If you have fulfilled other conditions, we have no issues. Don't worry we will fully support you and also convince other parents of this"

When it came to Axel he also said that he wanted a Bulbasaur. "Well if you could fulfill other conditions, like what this other child had said, we would support you" "No, you didn't get my point. I want the Bulbasaur which we escorted here. I want your son to be my next partner"

The couple was shocked when they heard it. It was easy to promise that they would support Bulbasaur's trainer but when it came to their child it was difficult. It was not like they would go back on their promise, but deciding now on their child's future was hard.

"Why do you want our son as your partner?" asked the mother. Well, mothers are the ones who are more protective of their children. So, it was natural that her voice was a bit cold. "We have already bonded with each other. And I think he would be happy to join me too" replied Axel. He was not gonna miss a Pokemon with a brown potential.

"Child, choosing a partner should not be done harshly. You just have met our son but have not even seen others. Don't you think that you should keep your option open? Our son may not be compatible with you" said the father. "What? Do you think our son is weak? Let me tell you, our son is strong. It is just a baby now, but it would be the most powerful Venusaur in the future" roared the mother puffing its cheeks. The mother seemed to be offended that someone had said something bad about her son. Even though that someone was its husband, it didn't seem to care.

Well, such is the mother's love.

"No, I am trying to broaden his visions. What if their relationship didn't go well? Listen child, I don't know about other cultures, but here in Venusaur family, choosing a trainer is a big deal. A lot of thinking is done before this. A ceremony is held when a trainer is chosen. So we could not give you an answer right now, but we would think about it" said the father.

Axel tried to convince them for some time, but they didn't give a positive answer. It seemed like, approval of its parents was hard than he thought. The couple said that they would give this a great deal of thought, ask their son, ask the leader of Venu family about his personality and performance and then decide.

That was a long process. But since he could not do anything about it he just let it be for now. A and B got their poison barb and they said their goodbyes.
