Pokemon: Master Of Tactics

Chapter 259 - Pokemon Master Of Tactics: 259

Alex immediately put a stop to the argument between Scizor and Crobat, which was starting to heat up a lot.

He didn't want the two of them to fight unnecessarily.

Alex first healed Ditto and later Scizor, who still had one more fight left today.

Ditto woke up and looked around, slightly disappointed. Ditto knew that it was likely to lose, but it never thought that the battle would be so one-sided.

Alex looked at Ditto and praised him to cheer it up as best he could, even if he's not very good at it.

Fortunately, the other Pokémon also helped, and Ditto's mood improved a bit.

...

Gardevoir and Scizor both looked at each other with calm faces.

Alex felt that he had no idea who had more advantage in this fight.

Although he hoped that Gardevoir would also win a tournament, he knew that reality is often not what you wish for it to be.

"3,2,1, GO!"

Scizor and Gardevoir both immediately started preparing move simultaneously.

At once, Scizor started running towards Gardevoir, and Gardevoir started running backwards, away from Scizor.

Since Scizor was even slower than Gardevoir, he could not catch up to her as long as she was not at the edge of the arena, where she could no longer run straight in one direction.

Both finished their moves, but Gardevoir decided to wait a little bit to activate her move.

Scizor used [Agility] the moment he finished preparing it, making him a little faster than Gardevoir.

Alex thinks that the move in this world is even better than in the game, even if it seems weaker.

Speed can increase the damage in a physical attack if you use the move while charging towards the opponent. It is also easier to avoid moves, giving the user more benefits compared to the games.

Against Gardevoir, Scizor needs a lot of speed, or he would fare even worse than Crobat.

Gardevoir, who saw Scizor use the move [Agility], gave a slight smile as she finally used her already prepared move, [Disable].

Alex was pleasantly surprised. 'Disable! She's really lucky that both are now on the same level, and Disable is also on the Expert-rank. Or else, she wouldn't be able to use it against an Expert-rank move of Scizor.'

The Gardevoir preparing this move beforehand was very risky, but Alex thought it was a calculated risk.

Scizor has two tactics that he usually uses. From which, the sand stream tactic will not work against Gardevoir due to her being able to locate Scizor with her Psychic powers.

Also, even if he were to use a different tactic, it is almost certain that he will want to use [Agility] as soon as possible.

Scizor, who was preparing another [Agility], suddenly noticed that all the built-up energy of his move had suddenly vanished.

He grimaced. He felt that he was now in a dangerous position. Fortunately, he had a plan B.

Gardevoir looked carefully at Scizor and prepared a move as well. Scizor stopped and prepared a move.

Gardevoir finished first and immediately used [Calm Mind].

Scizor finished almost at the same time and used [Swords Dance].

Both Pokémon repeated this two more times without budging from their place. It was as if they agreed that they would reinforce each other first.

Gardevoir saw this but showed no expression of fear as she prepared her next move.

Although she would take a lot of damage from a [Metal Claw] of Scizor with [Swords Dance] reinforcement, she was not afraid at all.

If Scizor can't come within range, he can't hit her with his best move.

Even though Gardevoir started preparing her move a little later than Scizor, she finished first as she used [Calm Mind] again.

After that, she did not immediately start preparing a new move but observed Scizor. She wanted to be able to use [Protect] in an emergency.

Scizor coped with his move being disabled by using [Aerial Ace].

[Aerial Ace] is also a move like [Swift], which tracks the targets like a guided missile and only stops after hitting something.

Even teleporting won't do anything if you're still within range of [Aerial Ace].

In addition, [Aerial Ace] is a physical move and, therefore, many times better for Scizor than [Swift], especially since Scizor had used Expert-rank [Sword Dance] several times.

Gardevoir didn't run and prepared a move immediately.

She was hit by [Aerial Ace] and felt that this hit was incredibly painful.

The hit took away around 50% of HP, and this was not a super-effective move but a normal hit.

Although Scizor's Ability [Technician] played a significant role in why Gardevoir took so much damage, the main reason was still the multiple uses of [Sword Dance] by Scizor. With This buff, Scizor simply deals abnormal damage against someone with such poor HP and Def.

This also showed that Gardevoir would have easily been knocked out in 1 hit if Scizor had used [Metal Claw]. Fortunately, he has no means to get within the range after preparing that move.

Then she immediately decided upon which move to use next.

Scizor did the same, and both Pokémon realized that the fight was now at a crucial point.

Gardevoir and Scizor both got ready, and both of them were using a move on the Normal-rank.

A quick beam of flame was sent in the direction of Scizor, who was using his [Aerial Ace].

While using the Normal-rank move, it was impossible for both Pokémon to move for half a second.

But Scizor reacted quickly and used [Protect] to block the flame.

Gardevoir also used [Protect] and also blocked Scizor's attack.

Although both [Protect] were in use, both shields broke, and both Pokémon suffered a portion of the hit as damage. Gardevoir lost 10%, and Scizor lost 25% of HP even though most of it was blocked.

Both did not wait a moment and immediately began to prepare for their next move.

And again, at the same time, both moves were sent to the opposite sides.

Scizor's body was enveloped in raging fire, and Gardevoir was severely cut on the upper body by [Aerial Ace].

Both Pokémon had suffered so much damage that they should have been knocked out by now. But neither showed any signs of falling as they were adamant about winning this battle.

'Fuck! I thought something like that might happen.'

Scizor, whose whole body had burn marks and even felt pain trying to move his hand slightly, immediately began to prepare his next and last move.

Gardevoir had a very large cut on the upper body and this sore puffed out a lot of blood every second, so her whole body was feeling feeble.

But even then, she proceeded to prepare a new move.

Alex saw both preparing a move and began yelled loudly furiously, "HEY!!! ARE YOU TWO STUPID? Do you want to die, or else why do you think that you can endure such a fatal hit with exhausted life energy?"

He saw that both Pokémon not hearing his words, or they simply did not react. In any case, the situation was very dangerous. He noticed that both of them had taken more harm than expected.

"Blaziken, Crobat, quick."

Alex quickly called the two fastest Pokémon so that they could defend the attack for these two idiots.

Fortunately, both Pokémon had prepared Normal-rank moves, so Blaziken and Crobat had more than enough time to reach Scizor and Gardevoir.

Both managed to block the attacks even if they had to take some damage themselves.

Alex ran to the battlefield and found both Scizor and Gardevoir passed out after using their move.

He healed them with an angry expression. But in his anger, there was also a bit of hidden pride. Both Pokémon were real fighters, even if they overdid it.
