The next day Soul woke up and got ready to face off the first member of the elite-four, Lorelei.

The pres and audience were also very excited as the gate to Victory Road was opened. This day felt like Christmas when they were a kid.

Soul did his normal morning routine with his Pokemon as the fight would only start an hour later.

After all of them finished on their daily morning routine, Soul returns all of his Pokemon, including Mew as Anubis went to his shadow.

Arriving at the arena, Soul could hear the cheers from the audience outside. He waited for a while before a young man walked in and said that it was time.

Nodding, Soul walked out of the waiting room, and to the arena, where he was greeted by a red-haired woman.

Lorelei: So you're the challenger, hm? Pretty young if I may say so.

Soul: Well, does it matter when the battle is going to start?

Lorelei: Heh, not really, but don't worry, I won't go easy on you because of your age.

Commentator: We're finally here ladies and gentlemen! A challenger has challenged the elite-four member for the title for Champion of Kanto! His first challenge would be against the ice-type expert, Lorelei!

The audience went even wilder as the stadium became louder and louder. Soul sighed at this as he looked annoyed.

Soul: 'I didn't expect the audience to be even louder than the final of the Indigo League.'

He thought as a judge came by and started to explain the rule.

Judge: This will be a single battle, where you can use up to five Pokemon. Both of the parties may switch out their Pokemon at any time, and it wouldn't count as defeat. Are you both ready?

Both Soul and Lorelei nodded.

Soul: Go Alakazam!

Lorelei: Let's show them what we got, Dewgong!

Commentator: Seems like both of the parties have sent out their Pokemon! Let's see what kind of performance they will show us!

Judge: Let's the battle begins!

Lorelei: Dewgong use Ice Shard!

Dewgong sent out several shards made of ice against Alakazam, who was unfazed by the attack.

Soul: Use Teleport and Calm Mind.

Alakazam teleported away before the attack could reach him, as he uses Calm Mind to increase his special attack and defense.

Lorelei: Dewgong use Encore!

Soul: 'Damn it, looks like I have let my guard down this time.'

Alakazam used Calm Mind again as it didn't have any choice to use other moves.

Lorelei: Looks like you will lose this battle, Dewgong use Ice Beam!

Dewgong sent out a beam of ice towards Alakazam, who couldn't teleport away this time.

Soul: Alakazam use your footwork, just like how we have trained.

What happened next surprised both Lorelei and the audience, as Alakazam disappeared from their sight, before appearing to the side of where he once stood.

He then used Calm mind again as his special stats were boosted, and there was only one more turn before the effect of encore ended.

Lorelei: W-What happened? I thought that Alakazam couldn't use teleport!

Soul: When one plan couldn't be used, there is always a back-up plan.

Soul: Alakazam use Calm Mind.

Alakazam's special stats increased once again as Lorelei could see that Soul won't answer her, so she gritted her teeth as she said.

Lorelei: Dewgong use Aqua Jet!

Dewgong covered itself with water as it rushed towards Alakazam.

Soul: Counter it with Psychic.

Alazkam's outline body begins to glow blue, the same could be said for Dewgong, who attacks got stopped.

Alakazam then lifted Dewgong high before slamming it down, fainting it.

Judge: Dewgong is unable to battle! The winner of this match is Alakazam!

Lorelei returned Dewgong to its Pokeball as she looked at Soul with a complicated look.

She then sent out Cloyster, which was a bad move since Cloyster weakest stats is its special defense, Soul got confused by her action as he looked at her suspiciously.

Soul: 'What is she up to.'

He thought as he ordered Alakazam to use Calm Mind again. Loriel, however, used a move that forced Soul to do something he didn't expect to do.

Lorelei: Cloyster use Toxic Spike!

Cloyster sent out a purple energy ball to the sky, which exploded as several parts of it begins to fall on the arena.

Soul: Alakazam quick use Psychic and stop it!

Alakazam used its psychic to stop the attack as the spikes slowly begin to disappear. Seeing this as a chance, Lorelei said.

Lorelei: Now use Razor Shell!

Cloyster left side begins to glow blue as a sharp blue blade pop. It then rushed at Alakazam, who was still holding into the attack.

Alakazam's body begins to glow brighter, as Cloyster suddenly stopped on its attack and were sent flying to the wall behind Lorelei.

When the dust was cleared, Cloyster fainted as the attack was fully disappeared. The entire stadium was in shock, how could they not? They have never seen anything like that before.

Judge: C-Cloyster is unable to battle, the winner of this match is Alakazam…

Then suddenly the entire stadium was in an uproar.

???: Did you see that? Did you see that!? His Alakazam just used two moves at the same time! That's crazy!

??? 2: I know right? I heard that some other trainer has tried to do it, but their Pokemon wasn't strong enough to do so. Only a few Pokemon could do it.

As the entire stadium was in heat of discussion about what just happened, Lorelei gritted her teeth again as she returned Cloyster to its Pokeball. She then sends out a Slowbro.

Lorelei: 'The situation is bad, I need to at least takedown that Alakazam.'
