Primordial Dimensions

Chapter 219: Cleaning the mess

'Is Artemis' blessing on good terms with me? How the hell can I be so fortunate?'

Shane felt like it was too much of a clichè that everything fell into his lap easily as if it was preordained.

However, there was no reason that he should reject an opportunity when it was already in front of him.

As such, Shane squeezed himself through the crowd of students by using force before he emerged in the center.

In the center, one could see several male and female students that had been beaten up harshly.

They were on the verge of crying and Shane began to wonder what the other students had done to them.

After noticing Shane, who seemed to have suddenly appeared out of nowhere, the surrounding students were astonished for a short moment before they scoffed at him.

"Are you another piece of trash who picked useless occupations and still dares to stay in the Shirai academy? We don't need incompetent people like you. Only strength reigns supreme!!"

Though Shane acknowledged that strength was the most important factor after the Dimension Portals descended, that didn't mean one had to behave like a thug and bully others.

Furthermore, the youth he was currently eyeing with cold eyes was just at the Low-Expert stage and had probably only a low-quality occupation at a low rank.

"What is so bad about picking a non-combatant occupation? Do you think you're stronger than others just because you chose combat occupations? Don't f*ck with me! What the hell do you know about fighting to state that the strong reigns? You're barely at the Low Expert stage and you're already acting as if that's something great.

Let me remind you once and for all...You are nothing special, neither here nor anywhere else!.. Beating up weaker students just shows how pitiful your whole existence is!"

When Shane was done, he revealed his killing intent for a quarter of a second before he turned towards the few students that had been beaten up.

He immediately retrieved some purified potions and handed them to the students whose eyes fluttered from him to the other students who had been bullying them. They were reluctant to accept his help for the fear that he may get into trouble because of them.

However, that was already too late as the young first-year student whom Shane had insulted was already enraged and was staring daggers at him.

Filled with rage, he took a longsword out of his spatial ring before he charged at Shane whose back was turned towards the youth.

Shane sensed that something was wrong as he felt anger radiating behind him and he also noticed that a few students exclaimed in shock. He could have jumped to the side to evade being cut in two halves.

Unfortunately, this would have meant that the longsword had cut straight through one of the badly beaten up students who were currently right in front of him. He wasn't going to allow that to happen.

Gritting his teeth, he made a split-second decision knowing that he shouldn't hold back now.

Within a single moment, Shane's crimson yaeli longsword appeared in his hand as he enveloped himself in a thick layer of bloodlust-killing-intent by exerting the Slaughterer's Path technique.

Unsure if that was enough, he used his whole mana pool to circulate it through his body as he unleashed his world's function to transfer the stored mana within it to himself.

Enveloped in a thick layer of bloodlust-killing-intent and mana, Shane began to glow as he turned around in a quarter of a second.

As the crowd around him watched with their mouths open, Shane's appearance underwent a radical change as he transformed from an inconspicuous youth to someone who was ready to massacre everything that was in his path within a moment.

The first-year student who had mindlessly attacked Shane in a fit of rage was hardly a match to his combat prowess. The student hadn't even thought of using a martial art technique, skill or even circulating mana through his body was utterly dumbfounded when he saw Shane who slashed at him mercilessly.

'Will I die here?' Was what the young student thought as he barely deflected Shane's first sword slash, only to see that several followed suit.

He was not even able to circulate mana through his body because the pressure he had to endure was too much for him to focus his attention on anything else.

'F*ck! What the hell is wrong with this dude…'

Letting out an annoyed scream, the young student could barely activate his occupational skills [Warrior's determination], [Unceasing Will], and [Warrior's blood] as Shane's curved longsword pierced into the student's leg.

Thick blood gushed out but the student didn't cry out in pain as he thrusted his sword at Shane.

While turning his body around, Shane immediately noticed that something about the youth had changed as he twisted the curved longsword before yanking it out of the student's leg releasing a fresh fountain of blood.

Shane eyed him intently and he noticed that the student's demeanor had changed and even his combat prowess had increased by a small margin.

Furthermore, he didn't even bother to look at the deep injury on his leg as he charged at Shane.

Even if it looked otherwise, Shane was still under control of his senses and hadn't let rage consume him as it was the case with the student who had attacked him first.

As such, Shane evaded the student's next sword thrust before he swung down the sword handle, targeting the student's back of the head. There was no point in wasting his energy further.

A dull sound echoed through the surrounding area and the young student's eyes turned completely white before he fainted.

He slumped to the ground and didn't move for a long time. Only his mana fluctuations and blood gushing out of the first-year student's leg injury were indicators that he was still breathing and alive.

Seeing the student lying on the ground, Shane retraced his mana, and the bloodlust-killing-intent, that instantly changed his demeanor changed back to the inconspicuous, handsome youth who looked familiar to most students.

"Isn't that the student who had earned more than a million gold coins in a single month, some time ago? Where was his picture again ...." One of the students within the crowd muttered loudly. To verify his statement, several holographic screens manifested around students who wanted to take a look at Shane's [Wealth] ranking.

However, before anyone had a chance to say anything, a late-Expert who was among the bullies who had beaten up the other weak students manifested two daggers in his hands as he shot towards Shane.

Wanting to catch Shane off-guard the student grimaced as he planned to show the black-haired youth his place.

After that, they might be able to think of a solution to the problems they had attracted.

Yet, before he could approach Shane, the young student could suddenly sense that he would die if he were to take one more step forward.

Every student who targeted Shane with their anger and disgruntled gaze felt as if death was hovering over their heads as an eerie sensation permeated the air.

The other students who had nothing against Shane and were only onlookers didn't sense everything. They could only see that the youth with two daggers in his hand began to retreat as his eyes widened.

His legs began to quiver as he grappled with the terror rising within him and used whatever courage was left within him in order to turn around and rush off. He abandoned his friends as he ran away cowering in fear, not even sparing a backward glance at his friends as he shouted in fright.

"There is a monster within him!!"

What others didn't know was that the dagger-wielding student had seen Umbra's eyes, through the connection with Shane's world, from which killing intent had gushed out.

Umbra had seen and witnessed the small scuffle and had been itching to defend his master but Shane had held him back from emerging on Igra as it would have caused too much of a commotion.

Suddenly, the other young students who had wanted to confront Shane, thinking that they might have a chance if they were to work together, turned around, running away with all their might.

Some even circulated mana through their whole body while exerting their movement techniques and skills to accelerate in order to be faster than their comrades in fleeing from Shane and the monster within him.

Shane, who knew what was going on, couldn't help but praise Umbra before he took a glance at the unconscious student who had attacked him.

"What a mess…" Was the only thing he said before he manifested the system's holographic screen.

He called the Shirai academy's medic team that was always on standby to clean after such an incident that happened more often than one might think. The team arrived only five minutes later.

During that time, Shane forced the students that had been beaten up into a pulp to drink the potions he handed them to alleviate their pain until the medic team arrived.

The crowd around them thinned after a while and only Shane, the unconscious youth, and several badly beaten up young students were left behind.

When the medic team saw this, they eyed Shane weirdly, thinking that he was the culprit. Though their assumption was quickly nullified when one of the badly beaten up students thanked him for helping them.

Smiling lightly, Shane was glad that he helped and decided to stay next to the beaten-up students, thinking that they might be more interesting than he initially expected.

[Author's note-->Information/World-build/Character-growth and interaction with new characters are important to build a proper novel and take their time. I hope the next few chapters will show this and won't be seen as fillers. Have fun!]
