Primordial Dimensions

Chapter 250: Needy

After Shane heard how annoyed Aunt Kia was, he explained everything neatly to which she answered

"To put it simply, the Elus-race will accept only you as their ambassador and nobody else, otherwise, they will neither sign a trading agreement nor a treaty?...That's a relief..we thought it was already over!

Other than that you want to create a faction soon, with non-combatant occupations? That's risky to start right now, but the timing could be worse, considering that we might earn enough from the trade with the Elus-race.

That is, however, exactly the point why I would love to reject your request to receive the details of the students with high quality, non-combatant occupation, the academies accepted during the last three years.

We accepted those students because we wanted to establish a large organization with non-combatant occupations once everyone sees them in a better light. This might sound weird, but I can already visualize how it would look to others if the government would suddenly start to nurture an enormous quantity of non-combatant occupations without reason.

As such, we have to wait until we can finally make the news about Igra's mana awakening public, which would hopefully be soon!

On the other hand, you seem to be the reason why we're able to get a new trading partner and a treaty to maintain peace with the Elus-race!

It would be unfair to not reward you! If we were to look at the mess the previous ambassador created, rewarding you is almost a necessity. Otherwise, we would only show how stingy our race is, right?"

As Kalur listened to the discussion between Shane and the unknown woman he called 'aunt', he couldn't help but feel that Shane might be closer to the government and human race than he had initially expected.

If that was not the case, he wouldn't be able to directly give a call and talk to someone with the authority to permit him to sign a treaty and trading agreement with a foreign race!

Meanwhile, Kia was pondering on what she should do. It was obvious that rewarding Shane with a few contact details didn't necessarily mean that he could convince all students with a non-combat occupation to join his artisan group. His finances were what limited him the most right now!

He was not even able to purchase a large piece of land on Igra with the fortune he currently had. Furthermore, nurturing all kinds of occupations was costly, and Kia was sure that he would need some time before he could establish his foundation.

As such, he wouldn't be able to accept a large number of students with high-quality non-combat-oriented occupations from the available pool which meant that he wouldn't be messing with the government's plan!

With that in mind, Kia said,

"I think we can reward you with the contact details you want, but everything else has to be done by you, on your own! If you want a trading agreement with the government, come over and present what you can give us in return! You know that we love you, but we have to take care of several dozen billion humans and can't patronize or favor you all the time!!

It's nice that you've already started to build your artisan group, but I'm not sure if the trading department cares about trades worth a few thousand gold coins a month or if they need to be larger...you'll have to put it to the test!

If I was to talk about the permission for you to act as the Elus-race's ambassador, everything is settled with regards to that and you can sign the contracts. After all, it was me who taught you and you shouldn't make such rookie mistakes as your predecessor did!"

Shane was happy about everything his aunt said and after he talked to her for a few more minutes, he hung up before he turned to the Old Emperor.

After he had apologized for taking so long, they were finally able to sign the trading agreement and the treaty!

Once that was done, Kalur expressed his wish to enter the Hidden Paradise. Shane nodded his head and explained to Talia and the others that someone from the Elus-race would come over before he opened a small portal.

They were a little apprehensive at first but after Shane told them that they might be able to obtain a space door from the Elemental, they became more ambitious as they greeted the Old Emperor heartily.

He had just emerged and found himself surrounded by eight youths who tried their best to prevent stuttering while speaking in the Primordial language.

Kalur's first thought was 'Fortunately they're just normal youths, not like that freak!' and it was obvious how different those youths were compared to Shane!

Instead of being too confident in front of the royalty, they were scared to say something wrong, while something similar to reverence glimmered in their eyes.

Looking around, the Old Emperor noticed that Shane's world was very small, which was expected.

At the same time, most of the surface was barren without anything special about it.

There was only a small piece of the whole world that looked somewhat special. This was the Nightshade flower field, a two floor house near the flower field, a quickly made workshop, a large water tower, and some other small things that didn't attract much attention.

It was less exciting than Old Emperor Kalur had expected it to be and instead of instilling too much fear into the youths that eyed him the whole time, he looked at Umbra, who simply stared at him in curiosity.

"Where should I place the Space Door later?" He suddenly asked and Shane didn't expect this question because he thought that he had to keep his side of the bargain first.

That didn't seem to be the case and Shane just replied,

"It would be best if you place it a few meters in front of the small house you can see!"

After Shane said that, Kalur took out two golden framed doors. He placed one at the prescribed location  while laying the other carefully on the ground next to it while mumbling,

"It is sad that I part ways with them like this...Adra, my poor daughter, your first creation has finally found its use...it will be needed here!"

Nobody could hear the Old Emperor but Shane would have been shocked if he had understood Kalur.

He didn't know anything about his daughter, but it wouldn't be difficult to decipher that she had died and that the Old Emperor had a special connection to the space door he had received.

However, the very reason that he hadn't heard anything, made him feel both happy and pressured at the same time.

'Looks like I'll have to claim an elemental crystal cave soon.'

Suddenly, Shane realized that something jumped on his shoulder, and rubbed its head against his.

He stiffened for a moment before realizing that it was the Lesser Starlet fox that showed its affection to Shane.

Yet, that was even weirder for Shane because he hadn't expected it to become a needy little fox, asking for caress and pats after he had rescued it.

It was not like he hadn't received anything from it, because he had successfully solved the second [Mythic] mission which gave him the permission to purchase the perfect apprentice body refining technique!

Shane could have tried to explain everything to the Lesser Starlet fox, but somehow Shane's mind began to mull over a certain thought.

'If The Lesser Starlet fox is already acting like that without being tamed...shouldn't it be easy to reach a loyalty of 100% if I were to tame it? This would allow me to solve 2 of the 3 hidden occupation's requirements. Furthermore, its spatial affinity is strong and with enough practice, it might be able to learn how to fight?

The more Shane thought about it, the more interested he became in taming the Lesser Starlet Fox as his second beast!

It was extremely agile, was able to use a spatial affinity, and seemed to like him. Shane was confident that he could increase its quality to the extreme, allowing it to become a terrifying existence similar to Umbra!

When he thought about the Golden centipede King's high strategic advantage, Shane couldn't help but feel that he had to obtain the Lesser Starlet fox as his second tamed beast even if it wouldn't have liked him.

This was fortunately not the case and made everything much easier!

He caressed the little silver-furred fox. It had a golden stripe on its fur that looked like a stream of pure starlight. Smiling a little he asked the fox,

"Would you like to follow me on my journey?"
