Primordial Dimensions

Chapter 252: Forgotten missions

After he had named his second tamed beast, Shane placed Cosmo back on his shoulder where he curled around himself before Shane decided to take a look at Cosmo's evolution paths.

However, before he could do anything, he glanced at the notifications he had received a moment after the taming process had been completed.

"Oh..sh*t, I completely forgot those missions!!" He blurted before taking a proper look at all notifications he had received.

Shane was baffled by the sheer mass of information he was suddenly bombarded with. However, he was able to tell one thing for sure.

'I had completely forgotten that I can strengthen my Innate Skill by completing missions…'

The Old Emperor was surprised by Shane's sudden change of behavior because he seemed to be extremely astonished about something.

However, more confusing was the fact that the Lesser Starlet fox's mana perception seemed to have strengthened after it had been bound to Shane's taming skill.

'Does he have a unique taming skill? Or is that his occupational skill?' Old Emperor Kalur wondered but he didn't ask Shane about that because it was his personal matter.

Shane read through all the messages he had received before he summarized everything.

'Even if I don't complete previous missions, my achievements will be recorded, that's great.

This should also be the reason why I was able to complete those four missions. In the end, there is only one new ability, the [Ability augmentation], while the other rewards enhance something!'

It was quite obvious what [Ability augmentation] would do and after transmitting his thoughts to both Umbra and Cosmo, they told him that their strength had increased by a small margin, while they could feel a stronger connection to their ability as well.

The strength enhancement stemmed from the [Quality enhancement] ability and Shane couldn't help but feel that this ability of his Innate Skill was truly great.

Other than the things he had already perceived, Shane's curiosity about the enhanced <Quality-Upgrading> function increased manifold, because he was hoping that it was possible to enhance other beasts too!

However, when he looked at the <Quality-Upgrading> function, Shane could tell that the changes it had undergone were neither extremely great nor bad.

It took him quite a while to understand the renewed interface that had added four new columns namely [Basic], [Intermediate], [Advanced], and [Main] which stemmed from the prefix for the four different types of dimensions one could enter.

Nevertheless, among those four columns, Shane had only access to the [Basic] columns that were once again divided into [Trash], [Common],...,...,...,..., [Mythic] and [Forbidden].

Among those eight segments, Shane could only access the worst, [Trash].

After that, the interface changed once again as a message appeared in front of Shane.

[Select an unevolved 'Trash' quality beast that originates from the 'Basic' dimension which you desire to evolve].

'What a bullsh*t' Shane almost blurted out.

There was no use for him to tame a beast to increase its quality, but he was still restricted to unevolved, trash quality beasts that were found in the Basic dimensions.

Nobody would tame such a beast in the first place, because every tamer would be careful in choosing what beast they would tame.

As such, the enhanced Quality-Upgrading function was useless to Shane.

Nevertheless, it was already a good sign for the future, because this told him that it was possible to increase other beasts' qualities without the need to tame them!

Unfortunately, this didn't help him from being disappointed, and the only thing that could save his mood was to distract himself quickly.

Thus, he accessed Cosmo's status panel again, where he looked at his evolution paths.

_______________

Possible evolutions [Lesser Starlet Fox (Common)]

1) [Uncommon] Starlet Fox

(0.00%/100%)

2) [Hidden]

3) [Hidden]

_______________

It was nothing special, but Shane felt much better when he was able to look at Cosmo's evolution path.

The first path was uninteresting to Shane and the last one was everything that counted to him because he would likely be able to enhance Cosmo's quality without any issues.

He only needed money to do that, which was exactly what he didn't have at hand right now.

Other than that, Shane could already assume what the 2nd evolution path would be, because it should have been the Startstream fox that Emperor Kidur had tamed a long time ago.

It might also be Cosmo's third evolution path, but from what Shane had heard, the Starstream fox was not really considered to be something special.

They were rare, but that stemmed from the fact that the Lesser Starlet Fox was almost extinct.

Based on Shane's assumptions, the third evolution path should be something that is truly extinct or about to go extinct soon, yet also powerful!

He shook his head to focus on the more important fact. Shane's excitement increased and he had already accessed his Innate Skills <Quality-Upgrading> function to look at the items Cosmo's quality enhancement would require.

"Nothing too expensive...but a Stardoom flower? What's that?"

___________

[To upgrade the quality of a selected beast [Lesser Starlet Fox(Cosmo)] from its initial quality (Common) to (Uncommon), following materials are required.

Stardoom flower[Rare](0/1)

[Spatial] mana stones [Tier-2 (Common)] (0/3)

Alrtur Stardust  (0/10 gram)

[Commence quality upgrade] [Y/N]]

___________

Shane had never heard of a Stardoom flower, but other than that, he knew how expensive the other items were.

If he were to add the price for everything, he would have to pay between 700 to 1,000 gold coins. With a little bit of luck, he might have to pay 500 at most.

That was if the Stardoom flower didn't cost more than 200 gold coins.

Normal Tier-2 Mana stones at the (Common) quality were priced at around 15 to 20 gold coins.

Shane expected that the price for spatial transmuted mana stones would be four, if not five times more expensive.

As such, he would have to pay around 100 gold coins for a single spatial transmuted mana stone, at the most.

It was more likely that the price was around 50 to 70 gold coins, but Shane would rather calculate with the highest possible price to make provision for enough coins in advance.

As for the Alrtur Stardust, one gram was around 10 gold coins.

As such, it was the cheapest amongst everything to purchase.

'If I had enough funds, I could enhance Cosmo's quality immediately…wait, don't I have a spatial restriction parchment left? By selling it, I should be able to get my 3,000 gold coins back! 2,500 at the bare minimum!'

He had been so busy furiously calculating the expenses that he had momentarily forgotten everything else. Thus, the Old Emperor had to shake him in order to drag him out of his deep thoughts.

"What? Ugh...sorry!!" It was obvious that Shane hadn't noticed that something was off when the Old Emperor suddenly said,

"I just told you that I have to leave for now! I have a few other appointments and hadn't expected to spend so much time with you...either way, don't forget your promise. As for an exclusive contract, let's just forget that. Just send a message to your assigned merchant about the things you need and he'll send it to you. This goes the other way too.

I hope that you can provide us with more elemental crystals soon. A large number of Common Elementals will be born in a few months, and we can't force them to use higher grade elemental crystals right off the bat, because it might injure their mana cores!

Make good use of the Space door and remember that you can come to Masua whenever you want, even if it's only for cultivation purposes! We know that our planet is richer in mana than your planet that has yet to awaken its mana heart.

Meanwhile, the Basic-Dimension pales in comparison to Masua, right?"

Shane just nodded his head, before he noticed what Old Emperor Kalua had said.

He wanted to ask something but the Old Emperor had already vanished within the Spatial portal that he had manifested with the help of the golden orb.

"He allowed me to cultivate on Masua?...That would be perfect...the Hidden Paradise could absorb more than enough mana as well!!"
